  1. Can't you use engines to push a craft underwater? Should be possible at shallow depths without submerging if you have a long enough pylon arm and a craft that is stable floating. I'm guessing class A's and maybe class B's can be lifted from the seabed with just stock parts
  2. Eh, only called it that because it was competing with Jon's shuttles (named kerscovery, katlantis, keandeaver, etc.) I didn't design it as a replica.
  3. I created this thread so that people here could share about their older projects which, be it through design difficulties, updates, sudden loss of time, or obsolescence, were given up on. I'm curious to see what some people tried, and what could've been. (I most certainly have a whole plethora of designs and programs which have been left half-completed.) Guess I'll start with one The failed spacecraft I most focus on of my space programs is the Keburan, a shuttle project I began back in September based on my friend Jon's shuttles: The Keburan and Ktechka, despite being able to make it to orbit (almost*) NASA style 4 times, wound up being unstable gliders (too nose-heavy) and ultimately heavy craft. They could only land with the assistance of RCS to slow down, otherwise risking destruction of the cockpit. Takeoff up to orbit would be relatively smooth if the directions were followed, until the fuel tank would start running out of fuel. The orbiter would start struggling to stay in control towards the end of the fuel tank stage. After the fuel tank would disconnect, the orbiter would be using 2 aerospikes, slightly unaligned with the center of mass, to propel itself into orbit. This also proved to be slightly unstable. Once in orbit, it would only have enough fuel to de-orbit. The inherent instability of the Keburan and Ktechka led to the scrapping of the program, especially after a payload test showed more of the instability. However, this is my only orbiter that has even achieved orbit so far (though I do have a new one in the works), and the Keburan program did certainly inspire some future programs which will probably later appear in this post. I always wonder about what would've happened if this program would've succeeded. I did make a placeholder forum page for it but never finished it, so I think it would've gotten some good attention (preceding Zeke's and Giggles designs which would come about a month later) if I could have gotten cargo into orbit. *It had an engine on the fuel tank to curb its instability So, now I'm curious what other people have worked on in the past, and how close we came to seeing some awesome spacecraft that were never to be.
  4. Wait... is there something else I have to do? It is not working in the post preview
  5. Guess what didn't appear when I tried looking that up. Thanks though
  6. I saw, on other threads, there was a proper way to do it, but I didn't pay attention. Now I want to upload an Imgur album to a post, and have no clue how, nor do I want to go hunting through a bunch of threads where I might've seen how. Please help
  7. Granted. You do everything in the transfer properly without mechjeb, but then realize you do not have enough fuel to complete the orbit. Then, either do to an accidental pass of a moon or a sudden and random kraken attack, your spacecraft's new exit orbit plunges it into Kerbol, and you have no fuel to save your kerbals. I wish Kerbol became a gigantic ball of cheese, still producing heat and light for Kerbin.
  8. I sneak up behind you, stab you, steal the technology, and run off. Somehow, you still live. mikeman7918's unprotected hill.
  9. Banned for being banned by a different guy (me!) than the guy you last banned.
  10. Crash: Uncontrolled high-speed landing
  11. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/what?s=t I wish I could kill the gigantic Fungi and be a national hero
  12. Granted. Unfortunately, "Us :3" is the name of a new companion, and the doctor only saves "Us :3." from the daleks. I wish Putin got eaten by gigantic fungi.
  13. Granted. Now dinosaurs are killing you in Mann vs. the Jurassic Era. I wish for a free, un-tampered with, landed, and fully fueled fighter jet (with a pilot's license).
  14. Awww, what a cute dog. Can I pet it? Apparently that was actually some guys last words in real life
  15. Is this the same U.S. politician who was worried that more military activity on Guam (I think) would cause the island to capsize?
  16. I still remember that DayZ Epoch server me and (I guess you could call it) a clan were playing on. So I've been on a few days, they've been on longer. We think we have a good understanding of the rules "No building in major loot spawns or in major cities" So me and my clan all live in the same area, though we have to have our bases checked as legal by an admin. Mine hasn't, but all of my friend's bases have been, and an admin was in the area and didn't particularly care where I was building my base. So, one day, someone drove a pickup through the wall of my friend's base, and we were all being very cautious of this guy. Then he left and blew open the door to the base nearby my clan's cluster of bases, claiming he owned it when we questioned him. So, then the server owner teleported nearby without us noticing, and walked into my friend's base. My friend shot nearby him to warn him off... at the same moment I realized he was the server owner. The server owner shot my friend, and then told both of us that our bases were built on major industrial loot spawns (his had low value spawns, mine had a medium and a low) and had 24 hours to get all of our stuff out (which I was doing) I managed to convince my friend to say, tried to tell the owner what happened, and I was intending on asking him to at least teleport my friend back to his base to get his stuff. While this is going on, the chat flares up with the other players trying to figure out if their bases are illegal or not, and what the rules actually are (they had been previously defined as "no construction in major cities, no building in major loot spawns.") Then he defines major loot spawns as "anyplace that spawns more than trash loot." THAT'S EVERY SPAWN LOCATION IN THE GAME!!! He could've easily defined it as "any loot spawn," but he didn't, so the server rules seemed almost designed for misinterpretation. They were also largely inaccessible (being located on a website you had to sign up for). After we stated our opinions more, he perma-banned me, my friend, and the 3 or 4 other people arguing. My entire clan left that day (They've since found a new server, but I haven't joined them yet). The server admin had probably just forced a fourth to a half of his server's regular population to leave. And this is why I think server rules and punishments need to be well defined and easily accessible, along with fair and not severely limiting. I also think there should be rules for what admins can and can't do, and that every admin and mod needs to know the rules and punishments well. There are too many horror stories of admin abuse, and good small to medium sized servers of practically any game are hard to find unless you or a friend owns them. EDIT: Also, arguing with an admin should be encouraged instead of being a crime, to keep the server fair.
  17. Granted. However, the person giving you the soul misheard you and gave you the sole of a shoe. I wish I granted this wish
  18. Granted. Glados forces you to shoot it at the mun, and then a second portal at your feet. You die in space, lonely and without air or friends. I wish I can win the spore contest I am entered in
  19. Granted. They straightened out the A's into lines, so it looks like you were exempted from getting grades at all when you just see dashes in your grade slots. Because you apparently got no grades, you don't graduate, never find a job, and die penniless. I wish for burning paper.
  20. Granted. You are in your spacecraft that makes the journey, and it lacks oxygen. I wish my civ 5 game was going better
  21. Banned for unfairly large moderator avatar
  22. Banned for being banned by an awesome short film maker.
