  1. That sounds like the concept I imagine. Because you already can increase part lifting ability by moving another kerbal in range I think it might be possible KIS will support it.
  2. Ofc, you can freely use the picture. Side note 1: A suggestion is a new upgrades ground mount. A lightweight 0.625 tripod for mounting all kind of sensors and antennas. For the lightweight tripod something like this Side note 2: Another good thing to have would be a crane. It does not need to be able to move but the function would be to render lifting assisting for the kerbals man-handle parts around (parts>1 ton) inside a radius from it. It could be mounted on either the KIS foundation part or on the saddle. For more serious basebuilding
  3. I just wanted to say thanks for a nice and interesting mod. Greetings from "The little tent on the flats"
  4. same here, non of my SRB with stock parachute works. Gets 99-100% sucess rate in VAB, but the parachute does not seem to work. always terminal velocity of 100+
  5. Vertical snap function. Would be great to make sure thing match up, for an example multiple dockingports
  6. Bahamuto Dynamics have already some kind of retractable RCS blocks http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/82341
  7. Another vision for nli2work parts could be to create a mobile base equipment by using the frame from the power generation. perhaps with a matching mounting bracket and KAS functions. Using the frame in the same way as the KAS ground pylon. I are thinking a frame mounted communication unit (acts as probebody with a satellite dish), power source, refinery, resource container and drill unit (placed downwards in the centre of the frame). Why not also science unit and a solar power unit. Perhaps a inflatable tent for role play purpose :-) You have all this carried on a rover, finds a good spot, stops and want to build a temporary base. Unload the units, connects them with hose/cables (KAS) extract and refine some fuel/other resources. When you are done you unmount the units , load them up on the rover and drive off. All to enhance the EVA gameplay.
  8. How about a constuction lighting tripod? like ? The frame from the power generator could be utilised as packing frame, ground/base frame and the lighting head extends upwards and have 3-4 lights aimed for 360deg coverage. Another use for extension mast could be a communication dish or a ground scanner
  9. Looks like they will fit nicely on the Pack-Rat Modular Rover
  10. Make sure you have the latest version of Firespitter plugin installed Also big Congrats to you Porkjet! Well deserved, excellent work!
  11. It works to attach a ladder to a deployed F.L.A.T with the help of KAS
  12. Apprently Stupid_chris is working on some kind of animation plugin. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/73283-0-23-x-AdvancedAnimator-ModuleAnimateGeneric-upgraded-v1-1-1-2-04-14 It might be interesting to check it out
  13. Could it be possible to add KAS support to this mod? It would be nice to be able to attach and change experiments containers during a EVA.
  14. SDHI http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/52362-0-23-5-Sum-Dum-Heavy-Industries-Service-Module-System-%28V1-9-5-Apr-2014%29
  15. That docking port is only extended when it capture the other object (right picture). After the capture, the docking ring is pulled back and seal itself, like the picture to the left.
  16. There is no reason why we would not be able to mine asteroids for ore and other resources. It will ofc require alot of space infrastructures and other investments. The question is if it will make sense economical to do it. It is basically a question about how much spacecraft we planing to produce, as long we "only" are doing space exploration in a limited scale it will most likely not be a economical sound investment. But also a working space resource harvesting and manufacturing infrastructure will act as a springboard for further space utilisation, as it will bring down the cost of spacecraft.
  17. And while we are at it, why don't We wish for a measurement tool or ability to move components with coordinates? Would make some things like trying to place balanced RCS easier
  18. It can be a small interference between the inflated collision mesh and the other parts. It have happened to me on several occasions. I think it dependence on that the radius of the inflated part extends below and above center mounting plate
  19. Btw PorkJet is working on some MK2 spaceplane parts, which are looking great including a Mk2 crew tank. more information over here http://http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/57662-PorkWorks-dev-thread-Inflatable-habs-and-more!-Current-project-MK2-stock-expansion/page82
