It is truly incredible how much time you can spend sending a single ship to Jool. I've gotten by on 3-4hrs of sleep due to things like that on several occasions.

I don't know for you guys, but I'm satisfied.

I wonder if you took science Kerbals up, if they could survive the crazy Gs and crazy piloting most of us subject them to... -

I was not simply satisfied, and to keep it polite I'll say I was quite excited by what I read. It's fantastic to hear what is going on, and things that are on the horizon (even though they may not be 0.21). -
Short answer, yes. It really depends on how much you have. It's probably going to take a long time before it becomes noticeable, ie if you have millions of pieces it will probably lag you, with 1 piece it wont. When it becomes noticeable is somewhere in between.

How close have you come to failure? Me: 7 units of RCS fuel left
Merinsan replied to inigma's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I had a Duna mission which dropped 6 probes to land on the surface. None of them had parachutes, I figured I could use engines to soft land. 5 of those probes crash landed. The 6th one ran out of fuel about 1 meter off the ground and landed perfectly. -
Poll: Kerbal Space Program's Mun Landers
Merinsan replied to AncientAstronaut's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Well, I decided i didn't have anything better to do last night, and slapped this together, and did the whole mission including build in about 40 minutes. I was going to land near the Neil Armstrong Memorial, then thought I should visit a Mun arch instead. Only problem is I forgot where they were! Jeb blames Bill for the poor landing site. I know the nukes were overkill. In fact, the launch stage was overkill (it actually got me to the Mun), but I figured I'd make something that could go other places, like Duna or Gilly, which is why it's got docking ports. -
Poll: Kerbal Space Program's Mun Landers
Merinsan replied to AncientAstronaut's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
None of the answers in the poll apply to me. Yes I can, but I'm too lazy to post pictures. Plus I'm overseas for work so can't play without lag on this notebook (it lags with a single capsule on Kerbin. -

I'm so hanging out for the next installment from Macey Dean, he's got a good storyline going plus his ships are incredible -
structure tips for a space station start
Merinsan replied to Brok3n's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Just leave ASAS off. It tends to screw up when there is more than 1 command module. Also, while a grid sounds like a good idea, it's quite difficult to build. My stations tend to be hub with spokes. Any design you have should be stable providing there is no ASAS and engines are not burning. -
You can use the link IMG line photobucket give you. Most sites have something like that

How do I get the autopilot to work?
Merinsan replied to triscuits's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Perhaps he is in an orbit, but below 70km? Either way, what the others have said. You need your orbit to be above 70km. I personally aim for about 80km just for some wriggle room. If your orbit is below 70km, the atmosphere will slow you down slowly over time causing the orbit to decay until you crash. How long that takes depends on the height of your periapsis. -
What was your greatest achievement in KSP?

Impressive. Although I hope all that debris was on a suborbital trajectory... -
What's your favorite mun/planet in the kerbolsystem?
Merinsan replied to AstronautGeologist's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I really like the color of Eve, and I like the oceans of Laythe, but I've just finished building a base on Minmus and I've really fallen in love with it. Minmus has some fantastic terrain, and the color is so pleasant - it feels like a blue beach in space. I built my base on a plateau about 3km above "sea" level, overlooking a cliff. I have not seen anything like that on Laythe, and I haven't seen enough of Eve to rule it out there, but I doubt there is something that good there. -
What was your greatest achievement in KSP?
Merinsan replied to SiliconPyro's topic in KSP1 Discussion
It was the single most difficult thing I have done in the game. If the same scenario happened again, I might actually deem the crew lost. The thing that makes it hard is that you suffer from phantom forces and computation errors due to being so far from the reference body. For example, I did a time warp at one point and the ship moved 2km. Also, the closest rendezvous I got with maneuver nodes was over 100km. I then switched to target mode to get closer. Because of the phantom forces, I wasted all my RCS fuel trying to dock, and had to use engines in the end. If I were to do it again, I'd send a ship capable of returning and just EVA over, instead of a refueling ship. -

I think it would have to be my manned landing on Eeloo, using stock and no cheats. Then on the return to Kerbin, running out of fuel while in solar orbit and sending a rescue mission up, rendezvousing, then getting them home to Kerbin. -
Actually, you do not legally own the game - Squad does. You have only purchased the right to play the game. I can't find any licensing information in the install folder, so I can't say anything definitive. Generally speaking, a company wont be bothered by someone playing an old version (if they paid for it), but if you have problems they wont support you either. Also Squad is under no legal obligation to provide older versions of the game. You purchased the right to play the game, in whatever form it is, not in multiple forms. Currently that form is 0.20.2, and that is all Squad has to provide to you.

When you hit F5 to quicksave while trying to land, about 100 meters off the ground. Then when quickloading, you find the ship is rotated 90 degrees from when you saved it.

The "You know you're playing a lot of KSP when..." thread
Merinsan replied to Phenom Anon X's topic in KSP1 Discussion
When you plan your Duna colony by first building a Mun colony to test the modules, refine them then build a Minmus colony to test again, then plan a Gilly/Ike colony as a further test. When you land within 1km of your target with a rover and feel disappointed about how imprecise it was. -

Last night I continually dreamt about landing/docking an extension to my Minmus base, after spending about 3-4 hours before sleeping trying to and failing (due to the docking port being the wrong height). -
Done that before. In fact did it so bad, I didn't notice until I got a Kerbin escape while orbiting the Mun.
-
When you lift off from Eeloo to return to Kerbin, and notice you only have 60 units of fuel left.

I was about to post the same thing. I dropped a new rover from a sky crane, but forgot to set the breaks on. It starts rolling down a hill. I quickly land the sky crane, grab a kerbal and start flying after it. He catches up, then trips on something and goes for a 6km ride just stuck on the run away rover. Unbelievably, he didn't die.
