  1. Landing on the Mun used to be fairly easy - flat spots everywhere. Now, it's quite difficult to find flat spots. I've spent up to 5 minutes pushing the lander across the surface (like 100 meters up) looking for a suitable landing site at times.
  2. I thought it was easy. Especially after watching Superman 4 as a kid, and watching him just toss nuclear weapons into the sun. I had an understanding of orbits and kind of was able to get to orbit fairly fast, though I was very inefficient, turning much too late. I had a good understanding of landing right from the start, but was bad at it. I was bad at rendezvous at first, I had a simple understanding, but not enough to close the final gap.
  3. Probably Tylo and Eeloo. I've been to every planet/moon in the system, but I haven't visited those 2 bodies in a very long long. I also have a hatred of Moho, and haven't been there for a while. Every mission I send there seems to fail, due to me underestimating the delta-v requirements.
  4. I started a new save in .23.5 and haven't done a lot, just been too busy. I've got a rover and delivery vehicle on Minmus. And some debris on the Mun, because it didn't explode after I dropped it. So far I've just been getting science, and haven't left Kerbin SOI, except once to get high over the sun science before going straight back.
  5. As promised, pictures of the rescue. I only got final descent pictures unfortunately. I was very surprised no one died in the making of these pictures...
  6. I reported it as a bug, and it turns out there was an update I needed to download (which I missed), to fix it. After download, they stood up. I then used the claw to rescue them, I'll post some pictures when I get done with work.
  7. I did 5 orange tanks before 0.23.5, using stock only, which is 180t. I just looked up the new big fuel tanks and they are 82t, which I've already managed to put 2 into orbit without even trying. That was the transfer stage - the payload would have been about 30t, which is 192t. When I actually get around to trying, I expect to be able to do about 1000t.
  8. So far just "Asteroids". I've yet to capture one. I'll probably not even rename them though, but I will be building a base on one, so that will be renamed.
  9. I've done a 90 minute burn before. It sucked big time. I was using nukes for that and a huge payload. With ion engines it would have taken days. That's not my idea of fun, so I never used them. Now I am having some ideas about using them again, so this change is a good thing in my opinion.
  10. I'm not entirely sure what this means: "I started a new career and am completing the science tree before building" I started a new career mode, but what am I supposed to be building? I built my first rocket before finishing the tree. I'm now ready to capture an asteroid, and I still haven't finished the tree.
  11. This new giant tank confuses me. I can't work out how much fuel it has, because it's not a multiple of orange tanks....is it a bug? I think the reason the orange tank was the yardstick was simply because it was orange. That plus every other tank was a factor of the orange tank. I will build a new station with X Giant tanks, and have no idea how to say what it's fuel capacity is now.
  12. Once again, failure. The rover worked out fine, but Bill just didn't want to get on. I might have to get some more science, to get the new parts, then send a box up and a bulldozer to pick them up and send them home.
  13. I've hit a new problem. I lack the parts to build what I need to scoop them up (structural plates). I've decided to try a rover, with command seats. If I get close enough, maybe they can jump in.
  14. I just experienced a bug, which has given me a new mission. Bob and Bill got frozen on Minmus, while on EVA. They can't do a thing except EVA reports, surface samples and turning their lights on and off. I'm not going to leave them there though I have to rescue them! I've already sent the first rescue ship, with a claw, but it has failed to grab a kerbal. They squeeze out and roll around. I suspect the ice that is freezing them is slippery. I'm now preparing a new rescue mission, with rovers to scoop them up.
  15. I haven't used it yet for grabbing asteroids, but I have used it to rescue Kerbals! I landed on Minmus with enough delta-v to visit all biomes, and suck the moon dry of science. After the second biome, I accidentally hit spacebar, decoupling the crew pod from the rest of the ship. I sent a rescue ship, with a claw under it, carefully got into position and latched on, then took off again and flung them back to Kerbin. I turned around again to pick up the remainder of the craft, so as not to leave debris lying around. Got it to 20k up, then let it crash down while returning to the space center. Best fun I've had in a long time!
  16. I don't know how true it is, but I read a comment on one of Suestras videos saying Macey had some personal issues to deal with. It was implied that nothing physically bad has happened to him. Apparently Suestra made a comment in a video about it (ie in comments), since everyone was asking him, since they did one video together. Basically this is third hand information, so I can't say how accurate it is. I miss him too. I was waiting to find out what happened in his series, he had a great story line going.
  17. How much do you get for returning the entire asteroid?
  18. I went about 20 minutes before I was think "I miss Kerbal Alarm Clock". I'll probably install it pretty soon.
  19. I do start a new save, though I am somewhat more efficient at accumulating science. My third launch landed on Minmus. I'm not sure what to do next yet, probably Mun landing, although I already have the mainsail, and probably could easily go to Duna. I am trying to get enough parts for the first asteroid in 95 days.
  20. For everyone protesting about being able to transfer fuel "through" the claw, why do you not care that you can also transfer fuel "through" girders, decouplers, structural panels, etc. The simple fact is you are transferring from one part of a ship to another, simply because it's the same ship. If it was not possible, it would ruin the possibility of doing a lot of cool things that should work, which would not be so fun.
  21. I don't like this upcoming ARM update. It's distracting me from work.... I most want to build a base on an asteroid. And I want to see what monstrosities I can build with the new bigger parts!
  22. The asteroids are not on rails. That would defeat the purpose of being having an Asteroid REDIRECT Mission. In theory they could self capture, chances are not good though.
  23. I think your poll is somewhat flawed. I like the cartoonish art, but I want realistic physics. I want a challenge in the gameplay, but I want comedic aspects if I fail, or even when I succeed.
  24. This summarizes my position nicely. Although I don't really use docking mode for rovers, mostly because my rovers tend to be so heavy I can't roll them with the torque of the capsule/probe.
