  1. Wow, three correct answers within one minute. Check the Kethane thread to find out how you can remove it (if you want)
  2. Copies are really easy to find, just drag the map image to google image search and you'll get dozens of hits. There are 2 options: 1 - It is a royalty free image, SQUAD mirrored it and called it Kerbin. 2 - SQUAD created it and others are using it with or without permissions. If the latter is true SQUAD really has it's work cut out.
  3. If it is purely the crew placement you're after I suggest you install Crew Manifest. This mod lets you add/remove and move crew at will and is completely non-intrusive. Edit: Got ninja'd
  4. In 999 out of a 1000 cases my scanner picks up threads before they can do any harm. But I agree, there is still a small chance something might have gone through. And since I had a scan scheduled for later today I am manually scanning right now. Found nothing so far. Edit: Scan complete: clean! (N.B. That does NOT mean the link itself is clean! Just that I did not get infected.)
  5. Most likely some kind of scam. One thing is for certain though, it's not legit. I get the same message about Chrome bugs when I click that link but I use Firefox. I don't even HAVE Chrome on this PC.
  6. They have a very low sense of self preservation.
  7. Don't forget KW Rocketry and B9. KW Rocketry adds a wide variety of fuel tanks, engines decouplers and fairings. B9 is pretty much a 'must have' if you're in to building planes.
  8. Now that's what I'd call a clever bug exploit.
  9. There is only ONE solid answer to the question 'Is Kerbal Space Program worth buying?' Download and play the demo. Then decide for yourself!
  10. AMAZING! You've actually make practical use of a flaw in the game engine. Place that crossbow on a moon like Minmus and you'll shoot him half way to orbit.
  11. This sounds a lot like a classic error: You've run out of electricity. No juice = no control! (Check the resource tab at the top right of your screen.) If you have solar panels that are still 'stored' have one of your Kerbals go EVA and open one. If not you could dock a vessel that has a power source (RTG or solar) and use that to power your contraption.
  12. According to the Giant impact hypothesis it was a Mars sized planet referred to as Theia. Indeed it is just theory but it is the only one that fits the facts.
  13. You've cleared not seen and read The new VAB and Space Plane Hangar topic. In that thread it has been mentioned at least 2 or 3 times the new VAB and SPH have only about a third of the polygons of the old buildings improving performance. If you're going to notice any changes it will be for the better.
  14. The clouds you see are just SPH/VAB background, Maxmaps clearly stated in the live stream there will not be clouds in .21. SQUAD is working on it but we'll have to be patient a little while longer.
  15. I think Deejay is spot on. Your relative velocity is calculated from the control node (pod/probecore/dockingport/etc.) but you rotate round your CoG. If your CoG is on one side of your ship, the control node on the other and your relative velocity is near zero rotating will result in a sideways vector. However small that vector may be it will cause your navball to move. Best solution is to ignore the navball in the last few meters, eyeball your approach and rely on ASAS (or whatever other guidance you might be using) to keep your craft stable.
  16. Actually, according to Maxmaps in the live stream, the new SPH/VAB has less polygons than the old.
  17. Love the new SPH/VAB. Watching the live feed now. The chat is pretty annoying. Where are the chat mods when you need them? What is this? The land of delayed puberty?
  18. If you plan to completely remove the earth then yes, you'll need the same mass. But that would release so much energy it would wipe out not just earth and our entire solar system but probably a few others as well. To destroy earth you need only a fraction of the earths mass in antimatter. Why do people assume antimatter produces mega explosions? Physics! Remember E=mc2? That's why! Energy equals mass times light speed squared. You do the math. 1 earth mass = 5.97219 × 1024 kilograms (Times 2 as we also have the anti-earth) light speed = 299.792.458 m/s An average supernova releases 1–2 ×1044 Joules, a hypernova 1 × 1046 Joules. According to my calculations earth + anti-earth releases roughly 1 x 1047 Joules. Ten times more then a hypernova!
  19. And still life will prevail. Life on earth evolved over many millions of years and suffered many catastrophic events ranging from asteroid impacts and ice ages to distant supernovae and GRB's. Though they all devastated life on earth non wiped it out completely. Sure, we humans probably won't survive, but life itself will prevail.
  20. [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[shift]+[D] is pre .19 Post .19 it's [Alt]+[F12]
  21. You need a certain number of posts before you're able to edit your signature and/or avatar.
  22. A few tips on making mining more efficient: Leave the drills on the surface. And leave your converter either on the surface or in orbit. Docking in orbit or on the surface costs a lot less fuel than hauling it up and down each time.
