Most definitely fusion! Nuclear fusion is the only reliable, renewable and non polluting energy source currently within our level of technology. Fossil fuel will eventually run out and is polluting. Wind/solar are clean and renewable but unreliable. No wind/sun = no power. Nuclear fission is reliable but leaves nasty long lasting radiation. Antimatter is sci-fi. Yes, in theory it IS possible but antimatter is extremely rare. (Plus it has the nasty habit of exploding uncontrollably when it comes into contact with regular matter.) Nuclear fusion does not explode (and if a reactor does fail pressure and heat escapes stopping the reaction instantly), leaves no radiation, reliable and nearly impossible to exhaust. (A single bathtub of seawater holds enough deuterium to supply an average person with more energy than they will use in their whole life.) Don't expect a fusion reactor under the hood of your car/plane. Personal vehicles will most likely be powered by hydrogen fuel-cells. But the energy to make that hydrogen will be from fusion.

I don't know what you've been smoking but you're indeed 'seeing things'. What you're calling a mobile radar looks suspiciously like a tree canopy.

I totally agree with Canopus, the KSP is no place for conspiracy theories. Besides that, if NASA did fake the lunar missions they would have done it again and 'we had been' to Mars by now.

There is a VERY simply solution for fixing your 'up-side-down' navball. Right click a controllable node (cockpit/landercan/dockingport/etc.) that is facing the correct way and select 'control from here'. Suddenly your navball is facing up again and all markers are back in the correct position. No need for a complete re-design or fancy strutting.

For Kerbin you could use this map: And searching the wiki there are plenty more 'maps' that gives you some indication what is where.

DROMOMAN - modular arm parts for Infernal Robotics
Tex_NL replied to nothke's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
This looks interesting. The only reason I use the CanadArm and Buran arm is for the lack of anything better (and the extreme wobble in DR arms). A modular arm pack like this would be awesome. And I'd like to make a small request while we're at it: a magnetic clamp. In your pics you're using KAS but that should be optional. I'd like to see a modular part similar to the magnetic KAS grappler but without the winch. -
Now that's what I'd call a SLAM dunk.

You're probably not familiar with the infamous infini-glide bug. This bug makes it possible for both powered and unpowered craft to reach orbit breaking speeds and fly literally indefinitely. Just search the forum a bit and you'll see your challenge is flawed (no offense).

It's clearly a camera shot. And the 'lighting' is probably camera flash.

I recently installed OrbitalConstructuion_Redux and so far I've been pretty pleased with the results. I can now construct things in space I could not launch in a normal way. And since it takes 125 tons in 'spare parts' to construct a 100 ton ship it does not feel like cheating.

What do you do when your car gets stuck in the snow. Well, you have your buddies pull it out of course.

No matter haw many or in what ever arrangement, only one port will ever truly dock (any part can only have one parent part). The other ports will only stabilize the array slightly. As a result of the much weaker force between the other ports they must be absolutely perfectly aligned, if not they will not 'connect'. As I said; docking port arrays can work but a single port augmented with docking or quantum struts is not only a lot easier, it is also more stable. (Unless you're a purist and want plain vanilla)

Stable Mun rover at > 10 m/s?
Tex_NL replied to Jod's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Physics warp CAN save you a lot of time. But can also do more harm than good. Physics warp can make an already unstable rover loose total control, the higher the warp factor the less accurate it becomes. Only use physics warp on a smooth surface and be ready to switch it off at the smallest hint of trouble. -
Check this out. I am pretty sure you can find what you're looking for right here.

Thanks people, I wasn't aware Twitch had issues.

Great idea Karper, back on topic: KSP-TV Why is there currently no stream??? Schedule clearly states Neko Space Program should be on right now but the stream is offline. Earlier today Dahud's SURPRISE also wasn't there. WHAT GIVES?

All Ship Controls Stop Working?
Tex_NL replied to Geschosskopf's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
On your earlier launches you probably deployed your solar panels before you ran out of juice. Nothing to be ashamed about. It's a classic mistake everybody makes at least once during their Kerbal career. -
I zoomed in and compared it to what I could find on google. It looks a lot like the mission patch of space shuttle mission STS-115 (Atlantis) Could it be we've just found the last easter egg Supernovy was talking about? (http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/33955-Did-we-find-all-of-the-easter-eggs-yet)

I finally got round to do some thrashing and crashing with the new update. On my worst spill I literally destroyed everything except the cage, the rear and front extenders, the wheels and the seat inside. The cage did exactly what it was supposed to do but I was a bit sad to see the wheels didn't even get scratched. In a next attempt to destroy the wheels ran them into the runway lights at 40+ m/s (double the speed the fastest stock wheels can get up to ) but all it did was send my rover into a wild spin.

http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Moho : "As of 0.18, it is no longer tidally locked to Kerbol." Edit: ninja-ed

Don't forget Manley is an experienced player. He often makes things look a bit easier than they actually are. Don't think you can do it simply because he can do it. Take your time, be gentle with the throttle and don't give up.

Pluto is a dog. If you don't believe me just ask Mickey.

I think it would be more a mental endurance challenge rather than a design challenge. From KSC to the north pole took me in the order of seven hours, no way I could have possibly done that non-stop. Driving fast in low gravity can be tricky, especially when you engage physics warp to safe time. I'm not sure if anybody will be willing (or desperate enough) to accept your challenge.

Now that I think of it. I've seen some pretty fast boats here on the forum. With the .20 Kerbal seat and KAS you could actually go water skiing.
