Flew Impatience XXII out to the Desert ruins with some specially enhanced kerbals. Kerbals are impresive climbers. Due to... an accident, the Impatience tipped over while the scientists were out exploring. The pilot and engineer were unable to righten the vessel, but a solution was found which enabled them to take off, sacrificing the radiators in the process. Then I decided I'd use Minmus as a staging post for a scouting mission, first step towards conquering and colonising the galaxy. Uhhhh, I mean, peacefull science and stuff.

The wonderful thing about kerbals, is kerbals are wonderful things. Their bodies are made out of flubber,* their bones are made out of naturally occurring adamantium.** They're spacey-wacey, exploding-flying fun fun fun fun fun... *which accounts for their not too huge weight in a universe of heavy things **thickest on the top of the skull which accounts for accounts of kerbals surviving large falls by landing on their heads I'm critic of the kerbals are plans hypothesis, plants need sustainance too. Leave a pot plants with out water an see how well it does. Terrariums with only light as an input are possible, but kerbals are far more complex, energy needing creatures.

Just some routine maintenance checks. Nothing exciting, and definitelly not important at all.

That's an interesting analysis technique. Simple, ideal for fixed cameras, and if you took multiple angles and viewed the whole video, it sounds like it would be a good place to start. That is, as long as the analysts have the right knowledge of explosion physics and the rocket's construction. Would something like this be done in official investigations? It sad to hear this news, more delays on rocket science. But looking for a bright side, better to find faults now, than with a more valuable cargo.

Physics. So beautiful.

Through Hardships to the Stars [Chapter 32 - Something Big II]
Tw1 replied to TheEpicSquared's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Docking in the dark = hard mode. There are ways around the physics limit, but I haven't looked at those mods in forever, Idk what's out there now.- 401 replies

Not a bad looking set of spacecraft modules. Was each designed as an individual component, or did you take the whole rocket at once approach? maybe this would be better in mission reports though?

Splsssshhh! I'm a submarine Imma do a flip. Opps. Oh on the scientists were in there. Also brought out the manned missile and the stretched limo

I meant computer crashes. We do have parts that can overheat, if you do something crazy. Part stress could be a thing, but I would not like anything to be set by random chance in this game.

I think I've got something a little muddled. Today, I was catching some kerbals in LKO. v This one has far more levels than the ones I've been working on which is both awesome and annoying. I got this cool screenshot also. It was supposed to be a simple mission. But it didn't exactly work like that for any of us. There are other risks when experimenting with infinite fuel craft. Like the good old warping to far. But when you're flying like this you can always just.... turn around. Charged at Minmus with about 20km/s between us.

-How poorly science is represented. -How career feels more like scoring points than running a space program. (Don't make me think about career, I'm enjoying this flight.) -Crashes becoming the main complication on missions.
-
I like the one with Kerbin and Mun, but I usually add four green-blue pixels to it to represent Minmus.

Help! I'm being invaded by triangles from another dimension! I shouldn't have made that deal. I'm getting the geep outta here. This little cheater is the Rediculatron I. For when you're a "Late person", and your crazy schedule says you need to be on the Mun "Like, right now." And you also have access to stuff like infinite fuel. It fun. It fast. An elegant 90 parts, slighly clunky design is my aesthetic today. Technology this advanced does'nt need to be one solid object. Smooth lines? Pffft. Though maybe it could do with some additional lights. Not sure what caused that glitch, but this was a run in an older version of ksp, so maybe it was just a fluke.

I haz new computer! It has shiny buttons. Also some good guts in it as well. And two heat fan thingies which is pretty exciting. KSC looks so good in 1920 x 1080. It makes GPU fan go as well as the CPU fan.

[Updated 2016-09-30] A Planet Divided: The Story of Kerbin's Kold War
Tw1 replied to CalculusWarrior's topic in KSP Fan Works
It's nice to see a new bit! Your screenshots are looking good in this one, and references buried in the text with delightful finesse! That general has some tricks up his sleeve, pulling of a thing like that!- 40 replies

Beat everyone to the pun. I like the 24-77, whatever it's called now. (twitch? Doesn't do it justice), useful when you want a some vertical thrusters, or to add a little bit of extra thrust to a more efficient engine for landings and launchings. Also the poodle, for its unusual looks.

Another aussie reporting in. A few days ago I was looking at WiFi cards. It wasn't do hard to work out the best choice when the lowest one easily matched the highest speeds to be expected in this country. But is ok here, apart from *political stuff that's not to be discussed on this forum* But plenty of other places have it worse because *more political stuff *

I feel like singing the "I've been every where, man" song, but tbh, most of the kerbals I've stranded were visiting the Kerbin moons. There was this one guy back in 0.90 or so who was stuck in a really long elliptical orbit around Minmus, and I had launch windows coming up, other missions on tight schedule, and didn't want to just warp. I forgot to land him while he was at periapsis several times. With my interplanetary journeys, I've never stranded anyone. A few crews have had the duration of their missions revised part way through , and one guy lives on Eve (through choice) now, but never stranded... Ok, there was that one crew on Vall, but that was an experiment with infinite fuel, and doesn't count.

KSP has unrealistic/distorted 3D rendering
Tw1 replied to thereaverofdarkness2's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I've been in a dome theatre! So cool, one at my university, and one in the USA somewhere. near grand canyon maybe? But yeah. Those photos are not consistent with that world outside I look at pretty often. So... -
So there's definitely some of us noticing. Perhaps it's time for a forum moment of gently and politely requesting people snip quotes? IMHO it looks awkward and nagging when someone who's a non-moderator makes a post like that without also making a comment on the thread's actual topic. Not a bad technique, should you want others to look at the whole post. It works on mobile! Between this and the emotion to delete trick, it's almost workable! This and the new link embedding thing are great features. It would be better to encourage better sniping techniques too though. Ironically edited to misrepresent the original please no one do this outside of this thread that would be awful. I see what you mean, but I guess it's more a case of choosing what to keep and what to dump, and clearly marking where you edited. Otherwise it's hard to understand what's being replied to or talked about.

It's not quite in the spirit of the magic boulder, hidden, immovable and terrible, is it? It's more of a new mechanic, shiny asteroids. "Look, I just caught a shiny!" I'm not an expert, but if I recall correctly, the biggest issue with the old space center was the amount of draw calls, and I think they only happen when the object needs to be rendered? I also like having that old relic there. IMHO the lower teir space center buildings aren't that amazing, and it kinda defeats the point of KSC2? I also think they didn't give them Monoliths colliders to save computer power, but Idk if that's a huge issue. But at this size they look a little silly. But I like the Squad logo on it, this is the kerbals world, not the world of 2001. Once apon a time, there was Roche, which was a reference to that at least..

@Mr. Quark someone had to do it. The internet needs irony. The struggle is real. I'm mostly on my phone atm, until I get my computer replaced, and have threads I've not posted in at all for this reason. Bringing back bbcode, I say. Or let us easily format in html. We've got these taggy things now but it's not quite the same. Edit: I seem to have found a method to delete quote things on my phone! Click and try to add a Kerbal emoticon! And there was much rejoicing.
