  1. "Kerbaboy" got himself into a bit of a predicament. It was a lovely Mun and Minmus that night. That's right. A Kerbalised nativity scene. Not quite Biblically accurate, but the traditional set up. Nice all the same.
  2. Figures. Kerbaboy is based on Veggietales' Larryboy, who in turn, was based on that version of batman. So in a way, Kerbaboy is based on Batman by proxy. Maybe, I have some ideas. If I get him out again, I'll probably try something with KAS winches, so he can fire the super suction ears out at things. And perhaps with a little photoshoping, a very well known celestial body could be used to make a very kerbal version of "The Fib (powered monster) From Outer Space." Not yet, I though about recruiting some back up singers, and shooting some scenes based on his vegitable-based inspirer's music video, but it doesn't quite have the feel of a theme song to me.
  3. That is an impresive craft. You've outdone yourself again. Though it's a pity there's so little delta V left once in orbit.
  4. That is impresive by whoever made that.
  5. Pity about lack of internet. I think it would've been better with the old, smaller dishes, but these are fine. I tried to use KAS grappling hooks first, but they wouldn't go on the right way. One more set of pictures: Alfred: "Now, press the green button." Larry: "My wings! I need those!" Alfred: "No you don't, not where you're going!" Tunneling mode! Also, here are some images of "Kerbaboy" and Bob, hanging around the Kerbamobile, (Which somehow regained its wheels) posing near KSC. It has a K for Kerbaboy on it.
  6. Alfred: "I have been making modifications to the Kerbamobile. They haven't been tested yet, but I think you'll find them very useful." Larry: "Oh. That explains all these new buttons." Alfred: "Try pressing the orange button." Alfred: "Sorry, I meant the yellow button." Larry: "Oh wow! Wings!" True to the original, this vehicle flings away its wheels dramatically during its "conversion" to flying mode. Why the one in the TV show did this never made sense to me.
  7. If the show I'm making a tribute to wasn't part of your childhood, that's a pity, but you may enjoy this silliness anyway. It was one of those things where you have an idea, then think "I'm definitelly doing that in KSP later." Larry Kerman: "Kerbiburg needs a hero!" "I. Am. That. Hero!" "They call me..." "Kerbaboy!" Bob Kerman: "Oh Hey Larry." Larry: "Hello there citizen! My name is Kerbaboy." Bob: "Right. Why have you stuck communitrons to the side of your space helmet?" Larry: "Oh, you must be referring to my Super Suction Ears." Bob: "Super suction ears?" Larry: "It's my superpower! Let me demonstrate." Larry: " Ah... they seem to be malfunctioning.. I'm a little stuck.. Um... Citizen? Bob! A little help over here?"
  8. It seems to hark back to older versions of parts in the way that it looks. I don't mind it, though to me it looks small for what it does.
  9. Not sure if it's the same, but I've had the space center models appear in the SPH. Not sure if this is linked to the button staying around problem.
  10. Christmas tree! Lots of decorations. And an anti-explosion frame. Do you like my tree topper? (Bob Kerman) ♪Come on, ring those bells, light the Christmas tree... No! Jeb, that wasn't what it meant!
  11. Mysterious business... Strange omen.
  12. Christmas tree! Oh no, physics!?! Only in kerbal can you stuff up a Christmas tree this bad.
  13. The whole thing is effectively a TV set like object, made from various bits and pieces.
  14. Good luck! P.S. It's a something like 1.5 hundred days to get to Dres, so your kerbals may be in for a bit of a surprise... Happened with my visit too. Jeb's compatriots screamed all the way...
  15. Hang on, doesn't that mean you only need the one bay or goo thing to visit several biomes? I thought part of the idea of them being inoperable after transmission was to show the one time use nature of material based experiments.. I'll have to experiment with this some time.
  16. Today, a little adventure that can only be illustrated in imgur album form. My daring skydiver returned from the Mun using an SRB, an external seat, and an EVA parachute. That was fun. Would have been all stock parts apart from the parachute box, had I not forgot batteries.
  17. I used to just leave it there- most of my designs minimise it anyway. But I don't want it to slow down my computer. Pruned it down to 40 the other day.
  18. Haha. Maybe if I didn't have a bunch of RL stuff to do Plus, I'll probably play around on Minmus for a bit first, now it has biomes, and my base is almost fully armed and operational... Yep! The first thing to arrive will be in 26 game days, probably a little longer than IRL... Assuming I remember to act like a responsible human and do the things I said I would do, and not spend a whole day on the computer... Plus, got to choose a landing site, which will take some time. Bit spoilt for choice..... Got to pick a spot that will make the best use of the equipment we will be landing with!
  19. I think most of the ideas being discussed here are about leaving the one thing there for a while, before collecting the long term science, or to get that trickle. Plus, remember, the tech tree is only supposed to be the first step in career mode. Maybe they'll be something after. The fact that they are finite worries me a little, if I decide to make another the trip out to Duna, only to have it say my tests are worth nothing, it will be a little off putting. I hope something else comes in once you've depleated the science points.
  20. I disagree, a life support mechanism, as long as it's done well, (only a few things to manage, recyclers, some sort of food generation, and enough in the EVA suit to support some orbital stunts, resource system integration) it could add some interesting aspects to the game. Time in space becomes a limited thing, reducing the convenience of time warp, so some time based mechanisms could be used. Things like science and budget could have time based aspects. It makes mission planning a little more complex if you're concerned with safety- Do I bring more of the life support, so they can wait until rescue, or build a redundancy system to return home? The possibility of processing gasses and liquids (and maybe soils) for life support useage is another use for stations and bases- the processing part might be big and heavy, and inideal to lug around. Plus, there's the added reason to use probes. I tend to use probes if there's no reason to bring a kerbal along, for example, a mapping satellite, or a piece of infrastructure. I'm also quite into the roleplay aspect of the game, and unless I'm planning out a whole big mission, I'll just send a probe for interplanetary trips.
  21. Reminds me of the huge infiniglder I made for a challenge once.
  22. Except my thoughts where rather than any trickle of points, there'd just be another set that becomes available after a certain time. A long term study report, with words and points of its own.
  23. I'd prefer to see the parts "reset" in a way that simulates the effect of them being in location over time. For example, the materials bay may be useless after one transmission.... but give it a month, and it becomes usable again with new info on what happended to the samples during the exposure. This could happen again at one year, two years, etc. Data about seismic activity, or gravity would be another sort of science where extra layers get unlocked over time. You could set up long term probes to sit there and "take readings", which really means wait while you're off doing other things.
  24. Ah, this makes sense! Is the plan still that they will have limited supply eventually? Like one unit of mono propellant being equal to the five EVA fuel units, or something like that?
