  1. No, they do not. No, there is not. If you have to launch vehicles from orbit, use the Orbital Construction mod.
  2. Ore and Metal are set with flow mode as all-vessel (like RCS fuel). Fuel lines shouldn't make any difference.
  3. Hmm, I compared it to a Kerbal and it looks like you're right, the model is about 5 times larger than it's supposed to be. I'll scale it down properly. It's roughly modeled after this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Floating_core_fluxgate_inclinometer_compass_autonnic.jpg
  4. What don't you like about the current small scanner?
  5. You should really have a parking orbit as low as possible; there's a rather large savings in required delta-v when launching from a low orbit due to the Oberth effect. So the window of time shouldn't be that long.
  6. Well, it's better for things like RemoteTech satellites, or sending up fuel tanks, than actual mission rockets. I don't use it that much myself, but since KerbTown is here I figured I should make it. Also, I'm currently working on making it click-to-launch instead of just proximity based; this should allow me to include the "launch from here" feature.
  7. This is looking really good! ZRM, any chance of a video in-game?
  8. Sure - just make a launchpad part without much geometry, put it there, and mark it as a launch pad.
  9. I can't wait for land on the new island to become available!!
  10. You could put a shorter version on top of the building, so the top of it is at the same height it is at now.
  11. I'm claiming a stake in Future Island when that gets divided up.
  12. Are there any land plots left? I'd like to make something too!
  13. I still don't have much internet, but while I do have a bit I am stopping by to throw my support behind taniwha's release until I get back. I will update the link on the first post to reflect this.
  14. I am hoping that the shuttle won't need the bit of ZRM's mod (lpsolve) that makes it platform-specific - I would hate to see this beautiful shuttle but not be able to run it because I don't have Windows.
  15. The reason for the craft being uncontrollable is that its flight state is not changed; it needs to "launch" first (i.e. roll some distance along the ground). I will see about fixing this. As for the apoapsis, that's about where it is without FAR (minus the inclination change) - the high apoapsis reduces the necessary delta-v needed to circularize, so even large payloads should be good with a single fuel tank and one of the little Rockomaxes. Everyone: I will be out of town until next Tuesday, so I may not be able to reply to issues until then.
  16. Everyone: I will be out of town until next Tuesday, and I'm not sure how much internet I will have. I will post updates if I am able, but I may not be able to respond to specific issues until then.
  17. Another interesting program to check out is X-Plane. The demo version is free, so you can play around with it before having to shell out $60 for the full version. It has a physics-based flight model, and it comes with a program (Plane-Maker) to let you design and build your own aircraft. (And although it's just as hard to make a plane that flies properly as in KSP, at least they are less likely to spontaneously self-disassemble.) Oh, and it lets you simulate flight on Mars as well as on Earth.
  18. There already are two ore scanner parts included; they are under the Science tab.
  19. Oops. I think I forgot to update the recycling code to reflect the new densities. So, yes, recycling does work, but it's around 1% efficient rather than 80%.
  20. A thought: I've been using MonoDevelop to compile things. Perhaps there are small differences between MonoDevelop and VS that are causing your bug?
  21. If you have a launchpad, you should set its ship type to "lander" or "base" anyway. Otherwise it won't be visible in the tracking station, so it's virtually useless.
  22. Hmm...that didn't occur to me. I suppose I should add a check for whether something contains crew. This should fix the launchpad itself, because it contains two kerbals (though you can't see them because there's no IVA yet, and you can't EVA them because there's no hatch yet.)
  23. Oh that's what that game was. The resemblance is not just coincidental; I played this game once at my cousin's house, and only recently realized that I could make a KSP version, so this is it. (And then had to make it three times as big because of KSP's atmosphere physics.) Edit: This is the original version I'm talking about:
