[1.0.5] Kerbal Planetary Base Systems v1.0.2 Released!
ndiver replied to Nils277's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Based on how advanced is currently PBS, any plan to release it officially? I've to test today the update 2.7 -
I agree, Mars looks too sandy, too much canyons considering the landing site, and not bouldery enough. When he gets Pathfinder, that's the most strange, considering the real aspect of the landing site of Pathfinder: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mars_Pathfinder#Landing_site

For the gravity, i don't totally agree with you. If you look, when he unbuilds the MAV, he seems to be able to move relatively heavy objects without too much difficulties (as the seats or the nosecone). But except that, I assume that it was quite difficult to make it on screen. For the hydrazine, I agree with you and was thinking: W T F? It's also that it looks like metallic pellets in the movie when it's a liquid stored in a tank ... I was also thinking: only 35km of autonomy for the rover? Seriously? It means that they cannot explore the area and do scientific day trips. And do we see the Mars Descent Vehicle? Because it's necessarily a different vehicle than the Mars Ascent Vehicle.

Big thanks RoverDude I wanted, and shortly tried to do such project, but my lack of experience with modding and lack of time made that it was probably a too large work for me.

The transparent windows are beautiful I've a curious bug with the wheels, that I couldn't solve after multiple tests : the front and back directions for driving are inverted. I totally remade my craft to be sure i did not made a mistake. Any idea ? Also, the lateral nodes from the Meerkat difficultly grab the nodes of the landing gears. -
Small name suggestion for the next SpaceY mod: SpaceY Orion or SpaceY Saturn (because 10m is the diameter of the Saturn V). Except that, again good job by saving our processors (more weight in orbit with less parts !)

Small test of base for Duna combining Planetary Base System and Stockalike Station Parts Expansion. Both fit perfectly together The wheels are a great addition, allowing to assemble easily at the arrival the elements of the base. -
Je découvre ça, franchement très sympathique, je vais suivre avec intérêt

A remark: you mention "100% more science", but there is no scientific experiment on board. The suspension is interesting but IMHO not suitable for long distance ride at 20 m/s (I got nearly immediately explosions). I would also suggest to activate the steering of more wheels (only the front ones have the steering activated)

What you described was exactly what happened, that for you help

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm currently more willing to remove CTT. However, for that, I prefer to be sure that it will not break my save.

Coming from the PackRat Rover by RoverDude, in the Exploration Pack --> http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/86695-0-25-USI-Exploration-Pack-Small-parts-big-adventure!-v-0-2-2-2014-10-07

Hi, I'm looking for feedbacks of users on the uninstall of CTT. The mod is really well-done, but brings too many empty nodes for my game, even if I totally understand the logic behind these nodes (I installed CTT with CKAN on the suggestion of another mod). If i remove CTT, will it break my current save? Thanks for your help

Small question, because it remains unclear for me : what are the differences between the Soylent Green and Red? If there are no difference ingame, I could suggest that the differences between green and red algea will result in a trade-off between photosynthetic efficiency and time needed to convert the waste in usable resource.

D.E.R.P. ScatterProbe - A high-tech littering system
ndiver replied to kreutzkevic's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
With a large rover, it's not so long, as its weight makes it stable. It allows cruise speed of about 70km/h (20m/s) and up to 100 km/h (27m/s) without too much risk (done on Mün with the Caterpillar rover). -

Interesting. How distant are separated the different rovers of a same cluster ? Is there a real interest in the exploration of Duna to have small rovers like these ones rather than larger inhabited rovers (that can travel on hundreds of kilometers)? -

Beautiful ! Great job Where are the snacks? Just to mention that on the tubes in the Science Lab IVA, the texts (Water & Oxygen) are mis-orientated on the first image. Edit: i found the snacks
