  1. This, @Biggen learning to get up close to things in the editor is a vital skill to learn if you want to make more complex craft. Nah! The lack of dedicated parts means we have to use our imaginations to make these things which is much more fun!
  2. It's connected in the editor then offset away. Even though it does not touch it's still connected until you decouple it in game. :-) In my Duna direct craft I used no offsets to move the door way way from the connecting port at the back of the cargo bay. That was the first time a ramp was made with a tiny hinge and a docking port as the connector. Kinda proud of that.
  3. I hope raptor won't mind me answering this. You can attach docking ports to any nodes in the editor. They just will only reconnect to another port in game. Using docking ports instead of decouplers is something I started doing quite a while ago, it makes things a lot cleaner.
  4. 'The crane! We lost the crane! It's on it's way down to you!' One of my all time favourite movies. Nice idea using the parts like that man.
  5. Great work on this man! It's a great looking aircraft. The electric prop reminds me of a modern submarines prop, very cool. Keep it up!
  6. Thanks for the heads up. Most folk will have already migrated over to KerbalX or other hosting sites already but it's good to know they work again. Even if the site does bite hard. Cheers!
  7. Man you guys did a fantastic job on this! The shape gives me that happy gooey feeling in my tummy. I can see all the love that went into this build and I salute you both, you do us replica builders proud with master works like this.
  8. Nice work dude! And thanks! Yup the scanner makes an excellent 'motor' it is what I used to power my early tank track experiments: I don't know if the rotation speed is high enough to provide lift though. The blades would have to be huge!
  9. Lol yeah my bad, im just so used to choppers being two craft! :-)
  10. Nice nose! I'm happy to see someone else use those parts for the nose, they seemed so perfect to me.
  11. If this can be spun with jets pushing on parts internally this will be awesome! Great find man, I'm sure folks here will get to grips with it quick.
  12. Dang, that is awesome! I'm really happy the RCS blocks did the trick.
  13. I hope @Servo wont mind me answering this. He's using one of my tiny thermo hinge designs, it's an antenna as the axle. The original thread is here, where I recommend using @klond's idea of using an RCS block instead of an antenna. It is not as small but MUCH more reliable for applications such as @Servo's VTOL mechanism.
  14. You guys are amazing! You have taken what was designed as a door hinge for my Duna direct lander and made so many different things from it, which is all kinds of awesome! Remember though that it was designed as a low stress door hinge and as such it has inherent weakness.. The version @klond made with an RCS block in the center instead of an antenna is MUCH stronger for applications such as this. Give that a go and see how you get on.
  15. Ah I likes me a bi-plane with an open custom cockpit? They are super fun to build and fly! This brought back good memories. :-)
  16. They never stay away forever, MU HA HA HA AH! Welcome back dude.
  17. Nice! I had so much fun building my one which is handy as it took so long to make.. The COM/COT in the editor is bugged and was giving incorrect info. It does not like my building style. If you want to know the true COM just load in game and zoom in.
  18. It really does! For mechanical craft that have forces applied the RCS unit surrounded by the eight thermometers I used in the first version of the tiny hinge is FAR smoother and reliable! @sgt_flyer was the first person I saw using the RCS blocks in this way in his amazing stock canadarm. Klond the first to combine the thermos and the RCS blocks and damn if i don't love him for it! I have some fun ideas for his version of the hinge but I am having so much fun in War thunder at the moment. Also I'm waiting for the next version of KSP to see what damage the geometry changes do before I finish any projects. I digress.. Good luck with the upgrades dude!
