KSP2 Release Notes

Whilst I do agree with you from a realism point of view, @RocketBlam, that decision was made more for balancing. In real life, probes are better and cheaper than sending a crew in almost every way. But the decision was made to balance it in KSP because Squad wanted to make it useful and fun to bring a crew.

What you describe, @RocketBlam, was an exploit that got fixed. All probes consume power, as indeed they should - think of it as a computer. If the probe runs out of power, comms go down, so how would mission control be able to activate any reserve power without comms?

Maybe! @Frybert again?

...and that just goes to show that we all have selective memories. When something out of the ordinary occurs, we can easily recall it later. But we quickly forget the more mundane things that pass without anything especially noteworthy happening.

Doesn't Tedus have a 100% track record of jetissoning his crew?

I think the point that @Streetwind is making is that OP is specifically looking for a stock way around that limitation by making the craft go very, very fast. That's why your craft won't help in this case.

Only in the 32 bit version, if I understand correctly.

I've followed this discussion with some interest, and I think I can see both sides of the discussion here. @ZooNamedGames has noticed an increase in negativity, wheras a lot of others say they haven't noticed any perceivable increase. Could it be that the forum has simply become busier, and therefore there are more posts that are both negative and positive? Or perhaps you, @ZooNamedGames, have matured since you arrived from being a new player asking questions and receiving helpful replies when you first arrived here into a more experienced user who has become very active on the forum. I would imagine that your first experience would be a pleasant surprise due to the level of maturity and mutual respect you found when compared with other internet communities. As you have gotten used to things and formed yourself a place here, though, the negative posts perhaps stick out more than they used to. Well done for being positive whenever you can. Keep it up - I'm sure it's making a difference.

@Kuzzter has already stated that the respective Bills can only access the persistance file for their own people. But I don't think that has been confirmed in-story yet.

I think @Kuzzter just found the only programming language that's banned on the forum.

Hi kiwi1960, I'd just like to highlight this one statement or yours. Treating everyone with respect is actually in the guidelines, namely rule 1.3: "It is important to recognize the many differences in backgrounds and skills present within the community and to strive for the highest levels respect towards one another at all times." So why do non moderators get treated with less respect at times? Presumably because a regular user cannot punish the person in question. But what many users make the mistake of doing is taking the matter into their own hands and replying in kind, which only serves to exacerbate the issue. If you see someone saying something disrespectful, hit the flag and report it, because the moderators don't notice everything. As for your idea, why not start a thread in the Lounge section and see if it works? If it expands, who knows? Maybe then you'll have a stronger case for a forum section.
-
Does it not simply become fan works at that point?
-
To be fair, @max_creative, most of the "cluttering" I've seen going on is the "Dres Awareness" spreading into other people's threads. Mission reports and other threads are getting spammed with THE BIGGEST TEXT EVER and repeated requests of "please please please visit Dres" and I think that if that were to stop, maybe people would stop fighting back. What do you think?

Oh well, there goes my overactive imagination. Nice design, by the way. And those fuel pods don't at all look like torpedoes.

Hmmmmmmm. I notice that the screenshots are strategically lit so as to hide the actual payload. Maybe our smooth-faced friends will be picking up a helpful package out there sometime soon.

The Positive Forum Movement (Updated 4 December 2015)
Deddly replied to Deddly's topic in Kerbal Network
@Ten Key, intetesting! I never had that feeling when using a forum, but that's probably because I tend to avoid arguments like that. On IRC, though, there's a greater risk of coming accross the wrong way because it's real time, people are waiting for your response and you can't go back and edit what you said. A good rule of thumb is to never reply in anger - whether it's verbally, real-time text, on a forum or even by letter. On the forum, I'd suggest also reading through it before sending it, to see if there's anything that sounds insulting or condescending (intended or could be misunderstood that way) or simply not reply at all if the conversation turns sour. -
Agreed. And that is actually a skill that can be learned, given time, patience and a little encouragement along the way.
-
@adsii1970, Oh I don't know though. I've seen many comments in that style removed by the moderators. Maybe we could get some input from someone like @Red Iron Crown, I'm sure he can give us some advice if he's available
-
Sounds bad, @adsii1970! You can make a real difference by doing two things. Firstly, report such posts by clicking on the little flag symbol. Secondly, keep being positive yourself and praising others who are saying kind things.
-
Just type "@" as the first character and continue by typing the first few characters of the person's name. It's a little hit and miss, but it usually works. On topic: I agree that there are a number of questions that OP needs to answer
-
I'm not sure if it's a trope, but OOTS got there first, sorry

Mine is very similar to @0111narwhalz (who's name is ovbiously pronounced "0111narwhalz") but I didn't see it before writing this. That planet you found is called Kerbulus! Don't go there! It's inhabited by kerbs a lot like us, except they have facial hair and are mad. But the main thing is they will actualy try to destroy anything that comes close with explosives! Stay away from there! And if you see an unknown spacecraft, run away! It doesn't look like we can go by the number of characters, but I'm not sure.

Great job with the spaceplane @Jimbo Jangles, and It's good to welcome another spaceplane enthusiast to the forum. I hope you'll like it here.
