  1. You could get a good GPU for that....but that's it...if you want anything worth a damn your looking at $300 for each item other then the OS, not all of them combined. A good CPU will run you $200-300. Anything less is a waste of money because it wont run **** anyway. You will also need a new MB with the correct socket which will run $150-200. A good GPU will run you $150-200 again, anything else is a waste in this day and age unless your playing games from the 90's early 00's. Operating System to support it all? $100 bare bones OS. I can only suggest Newegg for parts but I don't advise buying any CPU below an i-5 or any GPU with less then 2GB of video ram. Also, you may need more RAM, the new OS suck up a lot more then XP. RAM on the other hand though is cheap as dirt. Last but not least, an upgrade this big will also proably require a new, bigger PSU which will again be around $150 Don't skimp on computer electronics, you get what you pay for. You'd be better off building an all new desktop.
  2. Thats why anytime I'm docked or not doing a burn, either on a spacecraft, station, probe, whatever...my engines are not active lol.
  3. Open the ISA map while in game, click Kerblopydia (something like that) and click settings, you will see the option.
  4. You should be fine, the hilo file is not created until the first time you run the game with ISA installed. EDIT: I was wrong, here is the path to the file to delete it. GameData - Innseweeants Space Agency - Plugins - Plugin Data - ISA_Mapsat, in this folder you find the hilo file. Delete it and start your game. Sorry about that, glad I double checked.
  5. Yes but ISA is designed to recognize this and update itself. Mine has updated my .dat file and everything looks fine and everything is where it should be. Yes you have to rescan but the new maps will be accurate, as mine have proven to be so far. Just make sure auto update is on and then delete your old hilo.dat file and restart the game.
  6. Why does ISA need an update? Its working just fine for me...
  7. Only 1 sadly. I wish we had a large command pod for space stations. I edited mine to hold 3 and also have a few hitchhikers (2 max I think IIRC) on my space station.
  8. Of course I have! I've seen the ISS over me many times and have watched numerous shuttle missions trailing behind it, its amazing.
  9. http://wiki.kerbalspaceprogram.com/wiki/Main_Page Boom, all the information you'll need for orbits around the celestial bodies of Kerbol. Not sure why I didn't link this earlier lol. On a side note...I spelled celestial right on my first try, BOOM!
  10. Edit your original post and just change the prefix.
  11. Yes love it, I also love the new menu when you click on the launch complex and I can finally add notes to my designs!!!
  12. If and until they do implement this I'm pretty sure there is a mod out there that does that. Not 100% sure though. I remember seeing someone mention it a month or so ago.
  13. Agreed, I've been a space nut my entire life, long before I came across games and simulators.
  14. Whats everyone's opinion on the best resolution setting to scan Kerbin at a 385k polar orbit? Quality vs time, etc. Edit: Back in 0.19.1 I did a 14 hour scan of Kerbin at the same orbit and had a BEAUTIFUL map without a single gap but I forget the resolution setting.
  15. Don't get me wrong space is still amazing and space flight is awe inspiring, but am I the only one here who wishes their pre teen years were in the 50's-60's I'm 23 btw if it matters lol. Space has and always will amaze me I just wish I could have been that 10-12 year old boy looking up at the moon knowing the men from Apollo 11 were walking there as I gaze on. That era was an amazing time for American's and the space program. It saddens to me to see funding cut to NASA, etc. Its just awe inspiring and it breaks my heart seeing the people who have 0 interest in it and see it as a waste of money. Because in all reality its not, and it could even be all we have left in the future. But, I'm hopeful and confident I will be alive to witness man's first steps on the Martian Surface. Anyway, this post popped this into my head so thought I'd share lol.
  16. That is a killer idea. Maybe even as a whole separate mod. I'll look into it, can't be that complicated.
  17. Awesome, I started in 0.19.1 Thanks to Orbiter I was able to easily achieve an orbit around Kerbin the first week before I discovered mods and MechJeb although it was never perfect lol. I was able to make it to the Mun manually once, but crashed the landing lol, that's where MechJeb has REALLY helped me, landings and pinpoint reentry's, thanks to MechJeb I can easily do it by hand now.
  18. Yup I also firmly fully believe there are people who do and say they don't lol. Edit: Its an amazing teaching tool, I used it exclusively for much of the first month I played and just from watching it have learned much of what I know. It can't teach EVERYTHING you need to know to be a great pilot but man oh man does it help!
