  1. Hmm, I think merely updating firespitter does the trick, the compartments work fine, doors work, and they shield item within!!
  2. True, sounds like RastorPropMonitor would be useful for that....
  3. Neither would I, however with a mod already doing Gemini I think astropapi1 could've found some different pictures to use to get his point across.....
  4. Good to hear from you Mekan1k, Was just curious for an update. Happy Holidays, and here's to enjoying them!!!!
  5. If we want a Gemini capsule then FASA has us covered, this pod should NOT evolve into that, some of us just want a stockalike 2-man pod. and the 1-man pod doesn't exactly have the greatest view now does it......
  6. So, any word on when your internet my be fixed?? Looking forward to the next part!!!!!
  7. I agree with that, used to read the manuals 5-10 times before I even got in the game. Brother and sister always got mad when I knew about stuff that let me play better all because I read the manual.....
  8. Not really, you just have to do a bit of manual tinkering with rotating the hitchhiker so it's ladder's line up with the pods......
  9. Interesting!! I forsee great uses for this in building large vessels that I've had a tough time try to balance using conventional thrusters. Looking forward to building exploration craft that can land on the surface in their entirety!!! Use the antigrav for surface navigation and the main engines for maneuvers and space operations, along with providing power to make the escape from a planet's gravity well. That's the idea in my head anyway!!!!
  10. I was trying to make a point that there was good reason that NASA planned to get the ORION'S off the ground with Saturn-V's Strapped to it, seems people took it the wrong way. And I know that Chernobyl was caused by A: a somewhat badly designed reactor, and B: The fact they were running an experiment on the reactor with a crew of technicians who had NEVER worked on nuclear reactors before their jobs at Chernobyl, hell the closest thing they had was one guy trained on COAL power plants.....
  11. Apparently you've forgotten a little thing called Chernobyl, IIRC It's fallout has reached all the way to our continent, not to mention the extremely high rates of cancer around the reactor site, even with Chernobyl being a ghost city the rates of cancer and other radiation related incidents for the closest areas is nearly twice the average IIRC.... Would YOU want that kind of radioactive nightmare on your doorstep?? Also you need to remember that there's been a ban on nuclear tests for awhile now, Heck even North Korea isn't stupid enough to do a above ground test these days, they'd give away the fact that they have indeed been building Nuclear weapons.....
  12. And you need to remember that FlexRack needed extra functionality from KAS to work as Nothke envisioned, now that KAS has said functionality FlexRack has been entering the home stretch for a first release.... Try to have some patience already, many people are looking forward to it. Sumghai has been planning on making a module for his FusTek parts pack that would accept these containers, Nothke has already been sending him some reference models so he can properly model his part, Nothke will release it when he thinks it's ready
  13. No Problem, I didn't think you were being rude, just wanted to explain why I might've missed a possible joke from TimMartland.....
  14. Anyone have screenies of the new microwave Thermal Rocket in action?? Still working on getting through to the higher end techs, just getting Nukes unlocked....
  15. Sorry, I've got Asperger's Syndrome, a lower level form of Autism. Can't recognize a joke to save my life......
  16. They likely used fuel cells over solar panels because the fuel cells produces potable(Drinkable) water as a byproduct of their power generation process, So they generate both Electricity and Water that could be used for drinking or cooling various systems on board. Also given the fact that the CM sat atop the LM's fairings the risk of solar panels being damaged during ascent was likely too high and making doors to shield them would've added critical weight and operational complexities...... One of the most universal rules seems to be K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Stupid), The apollo program was often just that, at least as much as a program to send a Man to the moon could be.....
  17. Not only did they have to shut down the entire CM, IIRC they even had to disable the biggest power users in the LM to stretch what little power they had to get them back, Remember the LM was NOT designed to be used for the extended period of time that they needed to get back to earth on it's own. It was a short term module designed to get the astronauts to the moon and back to the CM, without the SM's Fuel cells they had a quite limited amount of power with which to work. Heck they used the Abort Guidance System for most of the flight rather than the Primary one because it used less water and power, Also let's not forget they had to create an entire powerup procedure for the CM because they never bothered to think that a situation might occur that would force a full shutdown of the CM, and they had to write it to make use of the very limited power that remained after the trip back from the moon.....
  18. Check the intended size of the archive, with the size of the archive you have. 10 to 1 the download cut off part way through.....
  19. It was an insane drive system, though as mentioned a quite feasible one!!!
  20. I'm not saying make it too easy, the gate pieces could have a modifier that cause the gate to require even more energy to send them. After all if trying to "warp the warping machine" causes it to explode, then I figure the gate might need to draw even more energy(Not catastrophically so) to send the components through. Also the guide beacon may only be able to handle so many tons in transit at once, and maybe it burns out after 1 or 2 or so many uses, and the gate just requires more power just to use the beacon as a end point.... Of course it's all up to Molbydene what he decides to include in his mod!!! Edit: I'd look at it this way, maybe make it so that this method is better for the farther out planets and for the nearer ones conventional methods are the better option, that or go to alot more trouble to use the gate as a delivery system for them......
  21. I hope that when you do get to that point you'll include some parts that will allow one-way travel to your destination and that the gate segments don't cause the same explosions that the full single part gates do when you try to traverse the network...... Edit1:I'd like to at least be able to send the materials through one-way so I don't have to send a small fleet of supply crafts in order to build a gate...... Edit2: I'm talking about warping the multipart gates when they're still discreet pieces not yet assembled: For example, I build a gate in kerbin orbit, I then send a ship equipped with a "Guide Beacon" (A new part) that allows the gate to target that area of space for a one-way warp on a trip to the destination. I then send the destination gates pieces through on one-way trips, then assemble them on-site, Sorta how Pre-fab is used in today's construction industry..... (I quite understood how the current test version will work in regards to warping the single piece gates, looking forward to them!!) So do the pieces of a warping machine still cause explosions when warped in this case????
  22. I've watched plenty of episodes of Mayday, so I'm pretty sure that Modern Jets DO get all their power from the jet engines, In fact the APU is designed for emergency use only, that and the RAT(Ram Air Turbine) are emergency tools for when the main jet engines are out of commission. APU's are usable when you have fuel left, though if your out the RAT is the only thing giving you BASIC instruments and hydraulic systems......
  23. The Idea behind using mass drivers is to limit the amount of fuel actually needed onboard your spacecraft. So I would think that the mass driver, once the new version is complete would give you enough speed to make it into a decent orbit, right now the mass driver is a little crazy at times, I remember people posting pics of flinging rovers out to the mun's orbit.......
