  1. Thanks! I'll see if I can launch it tonight (did a test run on a separate save last night), but I might be snowed down with homework (more than likely) otherwise, at the latest, it'll be friday. I overspecced the launcher though, by a great deal , anyone interested in watching a video when I do it?
  2. Hey Miner, I've designed a 12 part Mun Base core, (8 parts, + 4 legs) but I think it'd look a little better if I could add two more shielded docking ports (to cap off exposed fuel tanks). I won't launch it yet, but if that's okay, may I bump it up to 14 parts? Cheers. EDIT: Didn't end up being Mk3, but it looks kinda cool...
  3. Allright, I'll go with Mk 3 parts, and a standard Clamp o tron... Cheers, I'll let you know how I've gone later
  4. Alright, sounds good, in a few hours (likely when you're sleeping) I'll let everyone know when I'm launching, and I'll drop off the core somewhere around the equator. (once designed...) I also won't design in the save though, but I'll drop it in when I'm ready. One last question though, what size parts should I use? Mk 3/3.5m parts? Or Mk 1/2 parts? Dockingwise do we want Sr, normal, or JR ports? I'm thinking one or two on the core maybe...
  5. Sounds like a plan, just let me know when you want the core by (and what the part limit is, and a preferred landing location if you want...), and I'll get to it when I can (I'm an Aussie, so I'm only just starting my school day now, but I shouldn't have anything school related to do once I'm home, should get a chance tonight to design it ) I think one a week's a pretty good balance too, and as someone whose never actually been past the mun (lack of orbital mechanics knowledge until about a month ago), it could be a good challenge for the future... Cheers.
  6. Sounds good, but maybe consider popping a few more stations and bases out there for the time being (just one or two maybe), just so anyone taking part has a bit of choice as to where they're sending a module. It's your choice, but I think that'd be pretty cool... Other than that, it's pretty cool to be adding bases slowly anyway (If you want, I might get a chance this weekend (or tonight, maybe) to whip up a core module and a few rovers for a mun base, so people can pick between moon base module and mun station module, and then I could send it off to the mun if you want.)
  7. Just my input here, I'm following the thread and may or may not end up contributing, but I think it would be pretty cool to do this, maybe with similar rules to the station, but with a bigger part limit, considering that less people are likely to add to a base on another planet/moon, or in another SOI? Not that my opinion carries much weight , I just think it'd be pretty cool... Maybe double the part limit for bases, but have a standard docking port height (to avoid docking difficulties) and two rovers (to perform the duties of tugs for new modules), and a rule that any landers must be removed, either from the tracking station before reuploading the save, or launched back into space and left there (artificial planet rings from debris are cool, right?) Just my two cents. Maybe also double the limit for stations in other SOI's (depending on the difficulty of a rendezvous?) Just a thought. EDIT: Also, screenshots plez guys, I really want to see how cool all your additions to the station are, being too lazy to download the save myself... (at the moment)
  8. I actually laughed so hard at this, I thought you meant giving a pill to a dog, but the dog was wrapped in the sausage, not the pill On a more serious note, I don't think aliens will attract more players, just look at No Mans Sky, it had aliens on nearly every planet and only a select few still play it (and I'm going to avoid the obligatory "another butthurt No Mans Sky customer" comments here, because, yes, we are butthurt, but I did buy the game knowing I would likely be butthurt, and I was right, so yeah) I think like others have said, if ya like KSP, like all of us, ya like it, and if you don't, like most of my friends, nothing will sway you to play it. I was about 12 when I first bought KSP, and it's been 4 years since. Now I know I'm not as dedicated as some of you, I don't play every day, I sometimes go months without, but KSP always captures my interest (Even if I still haven't gone past the mun...) I think like others have said, it's a game requiring lots of thinking, and I just think some people aren't willing to put that into it.
  9. @Pine, Cheers, thanks for the quick response :)) I'm looking forward to it
  10. Hi all, I'm amazed at the work you've all put into this thread, it's pretty awe inspiring. I've been busy the past few days, so haven't really checked. There's so much awesome stuff it'd be unfair to like it because I only have the 25! Just noticed though, @Pine you forgot to add my screenshot to the OP (sorry if I sound pushy, there (were) 29 people in front and I'd rather pick up on this sooner than later) Cheers, and keep up all the awesome work guys
  11. Aah, okay, that makes sense. I think your idea probably works better
  12. @Van Disaster That both sounds and looks awesome, love the POC. Take all the tim you need, but remember to let us know when it's out Also, I kinda figured the color detection thing would be a pain, but I don't code, so I'll leave that at that, because I have no idea what I'm talking about. Cheers mate
  13. @Van Disaster Ooh, that sounds good. Do you have a link to a dev thread where we can check it out? I'm interested to see what else you're cooking up. Side note, I do know that these things don't happen overnight, take all the time you need Cheers
  14. @linuxgurugamer Actually, it should be me who apologises, as I actually meant to tag Galileo but saw your name in the link and typed it in accidentally. I know you've done all you can, and I thank you, because we'd be worse off without your recompile, I just think someone needs to start from scratch with a new mod and name, to avoid license breaches...
  15. @linuxgurugamer I did forget to mention that, I have seen this, but it's only an updated dll, and has caused some confusion for some. It would be good to have a new mod also, as this dll does not fix many of the bugs that were present, and there are many parts without masks, due to the revamps done by SQUAD... My point is, it's half a fix to half a problem. It works to a point, but not too well, on account of issues with the mod, not the updater.
  16. Hi all, I know I've tried to get this going before, but it's been a while since anyone's even prettymuch heard of KerbPaint. For those that don't know, KerbPaint was a mod made by Texel, that would let you paint each part of your craft. I say was, however, as Texel has long since vanished and the mod doesn't work anymore. I was wondering if someone could make a new one from scratch, since Texel is uncontactable. I would request, however, that instead of creating a mask for each part, instead, the mod detects what parts of parts are white, and applies a mask to them, what parts are black, etc. (windows, etc.) but instead of detecting 'just white', detecting which colour is most prevalent, which is second most, and which is third most. This would (hopefully) allow a uniform colour through the whole craft. Maybe apply a white mask to each area first to ensure this? I'm no programmer, so I have no clue how to do this, but it'd be pretty great, as I and many others miss it greatly... Cheers, Espresso
  17. Sounds awesome Pine, just one thing though, you should probably still try to get around to requestd done by the others, since you started this thread. As awesome a job others may do, I think you have a very unique style and that is why many of us have requested re-imagined screenshots from you. (I say requested because if anyone's demanding that's mean, and you should be able to have control over what you do and don't do *whispers* don't listen to demandsssss....) (sorry i got sidetracked) Back to the point, awesome idea, but maybe also do the requests yourself when you get a chance Cheers -Espresso
  18. Cheers mate, I'm super impressed and you've done an amazing job
  19. Cheers Pine, looks like my desktop background's gonna be set to switch between the two or maybe one for my desktop and one for my lock screen/screensaver. And a side note, I agree with Pine, I'd love to see the progress on the Kerbal Cheers and many thanks to both of you
  20. Cheers Mate, looking forward to it
  21. Allright, sounds good, lets hope I don't forget to remind you so you don'y forget Cheers mate
  22. @Pine, I'd like to do three things, first, I'd like to tell you just how awesome your work is, second, I want to express my (somewhat conflicted because it's mostly* my fault for not requesting this earlier, I've actually been reading this for a month or two so far) disappointment at the fact there are going to be 29 or so people in front of me, and third, I would love to request my own drawing I'm on mobile so I'm not sure if this'll work, but here's a dropbox link to my screenshot. Cheers in advance Also a speedpaint would be awesome, but only if it's not too much extra trouble for you One last request, could you put a (small, flat) solar panel on the pod, as well as an antenna or small dish for comms (although give the dish/antenna a miss if it'll look better without, I'll leave that one up to you) link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/kvp95025n1skts4/Photo Jul 29%2C 07 07 59.png?dl=0 Believe it or not, I'm 70% sure I somehow got that lander back to Kerbin! -Espresso *by mostly, I mean completely, this is what I get for being lazy
  23. Thanks for the quick response, I really appreciate all your mods, and Realchute's one mod I can't play without
  24. @stupid_chris I heard something a while back about integrating/updating the EVA Parachutes mod but haven't heard anything since... Apologies in advance if this has been answered in the past few pages, but I haven't really read far back... So yeah, I was just wondering if this is still happening or if it never was and I was dreaming or any information you have really. If you are redoing it or something, best of luck, it's by far one of my favorite mods and I know it's not working in the latest version so, yeah, good luck
