  1. i am struggling with this too. haven't yet found a working design for a thermal turbojet SSTO. i have upgraded everything (only the alcubierre drive is left), tried to make the plane very lightweight, tried just adding MOAR... but it seems not enough. maybe AM reactors are the only way to go? maybe someone could share a working design?
  2. the generated science is automagically added to your R&B building when you focus the science lab. you don't actually see the science pints building up.
  3. after all, its still a game and doing 10 similar launches or a 6 minute burn manually isn't really challenging or fun...

  5. i used chatterer a while ago but wasnt aware it could play music to? this would be awesome. i have several OSTs here that would be perfect for the game (sunshine, solaris, mass effect.....)

  9. such a nerva would be severely overpowered in the kerbal universe. i think they are just fine the way they are. if you need more thrust, add more of them
  10. they can go like 0.22, 0.23, 1.0 or 0.98, 0.99, 0.100, 0.101 ..... they can even never go 1.0 and stay in beta forever, who knows
  11. only had issues with spontaneus 'splosions when linking pipe endpoints. F5,F9 fixed it everytime.
  12. just deactivate the fuel in the reactor (klick on the little green 'play' arrow).
  13. my trusty KERES 1 standard lifter. 15 tons to LKO. and my Kerberos 2 Crew Shuttle. for rotating spacestation crew and other manned things.

  15. the updates are unlocked in the science tree and generated science is directly added to your career science counter just read the first post, you can find everything there.
  16. iirc you can only set fixed planetary alarms. but you can always calculate and set one per hand. there is no official "open" or "close". its more like a smooth transition. you just need a little more dV if you burn early or late.
  17. i built a heavy rover for that, fitted with 2 labs and a big reactor for tritium breeding and drove it to the coastline near KSC. maybe i will build an even bigger one in the future and transfer the fuel with a small KAS powered tanker.
  18. +1 for kerbal alarm clock why wait for one transfer window when you can launch several expeditions at the same time?
  19. this is my rover deployment system. mostly stock with proc. fairings (and stretchy tanks for the IP stage)
  20. i did it! used Ike to give me a small boost and instantly hit Kerbin SOI with my last drop of fuel. then i used RCS to alter the trajectory enough to get me deep inside Kerbins atmosphere and decoupled/landed the command/hab section safely on the ground. @ Nao: 600m/s? what..? how..? i played around with maneuver nodes for half an hour and didnt get one burn below 1k d/v seems, i do something wrong... or KAC shows me the wrong numbers for the transfer windows....
  21. i love the look of eve with this mod. the look on the surface with the thick clouds above and no visible sun is simply eerie and stunning at the same time. feels much more like a unfriendly, crushing atmosphere than before.
  22. did a manned eve mission, but it was a complete failure (on my end) forgot to add probe bodies to my science drop pods and had not enough fuel for my planned gilly landing.... (the lander had enough but the mothership didnt have enough for gilly AND the way back home..) so i only did some science in eve orbit and headed back home..
  23. i am currently sitting in low Duna Orbit with about 1k dV left. i fear that is not enough for my return to Kerbin. Ike is relatively big.. so i thought i try and slingshot me out of Duna SOI and then finish the burn for Kerbin. would this actually cost me less fuel than burning from LDO? maybe i can even combine a LDO burn with a slingshot maneuver.. but this would be a rather hefty stunt i think..
