  1. 4,4k dV wont be enough to land and take off from tylo again. last try i failed with 6k... now aiming for 7k thrust seems good enough and will get higher the more fuel you burn.
  2. after procedural fairings, wings and tanks... you know what would be awesome to have? procedural girders!
  3. i like it. what is that part on the tail of the craft? behind the B9 cargo bay?
  4. career mode isn't meant as a challenge for experienced players. its more like a introduction for new players.
  5. The Think Tank This is my local Science Facility on Kerbin. 8 Labs in 2 Buildings and a Nuclear Powerplant providing the needed Juice for SCIENCE! Had to build a special construction Rover to hook everything up with KAS
  6. restrictions? don't do things that make no fun. use mods, use mechjeb, or dont use them. whatever. i do what i want
  7. but please, as a designer of gigantomatic ships... dont make me fly through such a puny ring your mass relay-ish one part thingie is cool enough
  8. true. it should be very demanding. but it should evolve. maybe like the interstellar mod (or with it, if you use megajoules). so the more you progress within the game, the more common and easier the warping process should get.
  9. somehow i just don't get the purpose of the new fusion reactor. fission reactors are for long term power supply, AM reactors for high demand needs like the vista or alcubierre.. but where fits the fusion reactor?
  10. i use the KSPX escape tower on my dragon/orion ripoff. this craft is the only manned launcher i use, everything else is launched unmanned. so it is the only one with such a system.
  11. My new DSV Explorer Class Ship (haven't unlocked the alcubierre drive yet, but i like rings ). Only for 2 Kerbals, but it is small, sleek and fast! This beast boasts nearly 30k dV in its Fusion Drive section (because waiting for launch windows is for pussys) and an additional 7k dV in the Lander with its Antimatter powered Thermal Rockets. Two of those are on their way to Moho and Tylo as we speak, to land and bring home some sweet sweet science!
  12. would it be possible to modify the OMS to use RCS fuel?
  13. well.. why shoot reactors up there? it would be better and easyer (for deployment and refueling) to put them directly somewhere at KSP and connect everything with KAS (if you want to power some labs) the point is, it would be awesome to have a maintainance free power source like solar power. and for this you need some relay stations. or get kerbin to stop rotating edit: maybe something like this? every solar sat is equipped with a receiver and transmitter so they can transmit energy from one to another. from the ones in sunlight to the others on the nightside. and on the ground you have simply to point upwards and get power from the network.
  14. microwave receiver have to be pointed at the transmitter, right? so, if i want to power a science lab with this, i'd have to build a vast network of solar power stations and relays around kerbin orbit..
  15. 1) you can observe a experiment as often as you like, but you have to transmit the result every time. 2) you can observe - transmit - observe again and get home, but you get a little less science for it (the amount transmitted) 3) two goo canisters at the same time is the same als one goo canister observed twice. you get less for the second one.
  16. procedural fairings, wings, tanks, SRBs... now we only need procedural engines and i can delete my squad folder
  17. true. last question (for today ) i know you cant run two generators on one reactor, but how bout the other way around? is it possible to sandwich a generator (small Nuclear Reactor - Generator - AM Reactor ) so i can run the base energy supply off the fission reacor and only activate the AM Reactor when i need power for the engine?
  18. thanks! i'll look into this. but it isn't possible to downgrade reactors, is it?
  19. i am running with antimatter and have some collectors on the ship. but i don't think it is enough to prevent the tank from getting drained.. now this would be a nice new chart.. how many collectors do you need in each SOI to keep the tanks topped? i don't want to put half a dozen giant solarpanels on my ship to charge the tank..
  20. awesome work! this and his cloud mod should be stock. maybe there is one more KSP dev soon?
  21. once you have the vista, everything else is practically obsolete. just calculated the dV of my newest IP ship... althought it has a much better fuel/payload ratio than my old nerva driven ships, it has 4x to 5x the dV i think with 28.000dV you could visit every planet and back again. now if only the AM tank wouldn't slowly drain the power i could go on forever
  22. Jool Outpost KSS Aurora, Interplanetary Vessel with VTOL Lander Captain Future's Comet SpacePirates! ARR
