You mean the Eddie Izzard Law?
-
I got the audio book and it is actually quite good. Only "problem" for me - unaccostomed to audio books as I am - was the "weird" transition when the narration switched from the first person narration of the log entries to the third person narration back at NASA, as the whole book is read by one narrator and during the first chapters I got used to his voice being that of the main character. But he does a very good job and I got used to it really quick, especially because he tries to use different accents and modulations for the other characters.

Several times I wondered if the information for the height of a planets atmosphere given in KSP is really correct. Especially Eve (higher?) and Duna (lower?) seemed to be incorrect. Was I breathing to much booster exhaust or is there something to it?

What else needs to go on the mountain of content for 1.0?
KerbMav replied to BrainiacBlue's topic in KSP1 Discussion
1. I do not understand why the Kerbal system is seen as incomplete - if these are the planets in the Kerbal system ... it is complete. 2. The blog spoke about more free updates after 1.0 KSP - so there is still room for more planets/moons/stuff in 1.1, 1.2 ... not necessarily in 1.0, no? -
What's the heaviest ascent stage you've landed on another planet?
KerbMav replied to JordanL's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I would like to see a bit more of your ship, always looking for different designs, as I think mine are getting a bit repepetititive. -
Girbals, Maxmaps said it! He also said that it was just a joke, but I think we should make it a bit difficult for him for all these goose chases he is setting up for us.

Vitamins! Stock Life Support confirmed!
-
Also it is only Beta.
-
Congratulations, Maxmaps, this is a very emancipated move on your part - although I always expected you to become a good father.
-
In the best of cases, I dare say - although I did not like the social structure in Starship Troopers.

OK. Can Mr Myerson kindly provide a few drops of his blood, some hair from his head, a few clipped finger nails and something that has been in his possession for a prolonged time and that he has worn or carried with him regularly?

If there really happened anything at any time in regards to ET visits, do you really think any government/agency would disclose it just because the law says so? Look at the world and think about what would happen if the people knew there were aliens. Humanity has been murdering each other over stories in books thousands of years old, following prophets and divine descendents, twisting these stories and using those names to gather followers and do their bidding. Now imagine there was even proof of something equally mind boggling. You will have to drop your own space/alien-affine views for a moment though.

For the first station contract I just built something like the Saljut, a simple cylinder containig everything the contract asked for. When I get to build MY station, I usually begin by building the whole thing in the VAB, then go on to modulize it by adding docking ports and afterwards I reduce the part count wherever possible without loosing to much of my intended design.

Designed and launched a Duna probe. Slow days at the moment - I miss the sun ...

The sample on Audible contains a neat description of their regular Mars missions.

KXP: EVA instead of flag planting
KerbMav replied to KerbMav's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I am not talking about science - and what good are the XP for the kerbonaut if he dies on impact? -
[1.12.3+] RealChute Parachute Systems v1.4.9.5 | 20/10/24
KerbMav replied to stupid_chris's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
I like some kind of confirmation, but I agree it does not have to be window - a three second long readout might do it. Also found the information I overlooked last time, although it was a bit hidden. -
Space bar doesn't reorient camera during EVA
KerbMav replied to DLrocket89's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Both true, the first should even be true for keyboard controls. -
Throttle defaulting to 50% causing problems
KerbMav replied to NomenNescio's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
As the forum is not full of posts complaining about 50% throttle while docking and I too have never seen this happening - although I will run into my sandbox test save this evening and try to make sure - this seems to be a bug in this specific install/save/mod-combo? -
Oh dear - I honestly thought that if they make it a tie in with Civ/BE storywise, will they just use hexagons and change graphics?

Well, maybe yes ... 0 +100% = ... ? So, some form of tyranny combined with slavery? I think colonies will grow from corporate expeditions. Company A sets up industry on Moon/Mars and as life gets easier (more self-sustained) up there, it might become cheaper to ferry the families of their employees up instead of granting regular vacations. Think of it as a town growing close to a gold mine in the past. To even get to a point of self-sufficiency one would need an army of workers from all fields - heh, yes, (hydroponic-)farmers above all else - so a full-fledged colony would be in the interest of said company. What were needed, was an International Law for Space Colonization: Every colony constitutes its own "nation", the company only gets the right to profit from the land, the colonists get to form a governing body of their choosing. (Something like that at least.)

Keeping seperate Steam copies of KSP versions
KerbMav replied to Demoblaster's topic in KSP1 Discussion
You also do not need Steam to run in the background, it is wasting precious memory anyway. -
Flew my Kerbin Moon Bus to Minmus - forgetting to take the science package also containing a part for testing on Minmus' surface with me ... - landing is scheduled to take place close to a probe to recover its science. The Kerbol Probe One left Kerbin's SOI. In about half a Kerbal year a small burn will bring it home again after a little bit more than one full orbit. KSC grasped the opportunity to teach kerblets all over Kerbin a lesson in orbital dynamics: The probe burned retrograde with its departure stage shortly before leaving Kerbin's orbit, separated and reestablished its escape trajectory. The spent stage will drop back to Kerbin, zoom around at about 120km, sling around Mun and slam back into Kerbin's atmosphere at last. Next up: Launching more kerbonauts up to the KIR station for round trips to the moons and crew training.
