A yes, I know that feeling. Just now I managed to get my Moho transfer stage into orbit, with 300 deltaV to spare. Sounds like alot, but when I want the droptanks to stay on I can't rely on Mechjeb to calculate deltaV for me. So it was a frustrating mess of constandly almost getting it, than trying again, than throwing the 3th Kerbal out of the cockpit, than repeat the same thing. Over and over and over. Next on the list: 5 launches to refuel the damn thing. Than dock it to the lander. Than send up the engines.

If the pods were more than 2,5km away from you while in atmosphere, they go on rails and drag has no effect on them. AKA they crash (or get deleted, cause they are in the atmosphere on rails)

That really is your own fault. Like not saving for 4 hours in an RTS without autosave, and than dieing. Noone's fault but your own

If you enjoyd it better with FAR, than why don't you just reinstal FAR?

For the future: Try to get your rescue ship in an orbit that's almost identical to the ship that's needs resque. That way they have rather similar orbital speeds, making it easier to match once you get the encounter
