Revelations of the Kraken (Chapter 44: Falling Down)
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
"MMmmmmMMMM! Delicious. What is it?" "Oh, just the heart lung and liver of a sheep boiled in it's own intestines." "Oh,. Ulp. BLARF!" Whenever I hear about Haggis I always think of Earthworm Jim (The Series) and the often (VERY Often) repeated gag. Sometimes there is too much of a good thing... but not that one -

ALIEN SKIES: A 6.4-scale playthrough of GPP/Rald
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
My mission in life is complete. I can die happy now that the great Catastrophic Failure deems my meager humor to be worth a chuckle, nay a guffaw even. Dare I say... a giggle? Mayhaps I press to hard. Or I just say Flarp it and keep on typing whatever junk comes into my head and hope something ends up funny. *Shrugs* EDIT: I should say I had almost the same reaction to that... *shudder* post about the Scott Manley Heads... That seriously deserves a 'DUN DUN DUUUUUUNNNN!' And possibly a barrel of bleach - Brain cleaning brand.- 445 replies

ALIEN SKIES: A 6.4-scale playthrough of GPP/Rald
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Just caught up on this, and congratulations for a thoroughly astute rendition of bat&%$# crazy. Though I still expected Vlad to stow away on the good ship Target Practise and use some African animal naming convention. The Dread Pirate Vlad the Impala just sounded too cool.- 445 replies

Ah, I see. I thought I'd need to tweak things so R&D wouldn't attempt to change ones. I'd already thought of the possibility that MKS doesn't do much with engines (except perhaps things like Skycranes etc with both fuel and engines in the same unit). Didn't think the system would automatically cope with that. Good to know. I'll see what I can get away with Still wondering what all the errors were in the mod load sequence. Probably had other issues as I had installed quite a lot that time. I'll try things one at a time and see what breaks first.
-
MKS does both, having dedicated tanks for some things (such as life support, mostly a separate mod) but also generalizing things for most tanks. As far as CKAN is concerned configurable tanks is a prerequisite for installation so I was aware that work would have to be done after installation, but re-arranging all the tanks and containers in MKS... that would be a serious challenge! Given the various resources neccessary for the whole purpose of the mod, to make creating a self-sustaining colony an actual challenge, it does need a whole shindig full of different types. I'll have to think about that as I doubt it would quite as simple as just copying tanks, as some are internal to some complex parts that wouldn't easily be duplicatable without messing up the basis of the mod. It does have a resource sharing capability with some of the more advanced modules so perhaps it could all be separated out into a few cores modules and many tanks, but it certainly would be tricky.
-
With the large resource dependencies in MKS won't that mess things up? Without making copies of all the containers and altering them for one per resource is MKS & R&D incompatible?
-
Um, I've been trying this mod and been getting issues, as above, but while I'm removing anything such as Tweak scale I was worried about a few others. For example, cryogenic fuels and configurable containers, and things like MKS. Are they compatible with this or do the resource switches mess with the R&D set up as well? The first time I tried this module manager threw up quite a few errors, but this is also the first time I've been trying 6.4K in Sigma Dimensions and a few others, so that may not be regarding R&D. I just want to know how much I need to prune my mod list to get this to work.

Shadows of the Kraken: Remastered & The Lost Chapters
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
Found it! It's Chapter 33:Speed, just a few paragraphs in: "Anyway, you're distracting me. You don't need to know the details of the engine's operation, just watch the status lights. Green is good. Yellow is not good. Red is bad. Red is very, very bad." Jerdous pointed to a large red button under a clear plastic cover on the console, "you see red, you lift this cover, you hit this button. And you better have a damn good explanation too. That's the emergency SCRAM, it's not easily undone. And don't touch anything else!" As to Valentina/Edgas and the munbase, well, when I get back to that section of Whispers I'll see if all was as my perdiferous memory recalls... if memory itself can recall? Retains? Stores? Also very glad to hear of Revelations... yeah. Totally didn't notice that on your signature... swear it wasn't there this morning *grumble mumble* Curses, darned flarping eyesight. -
Shadows of the Kraken: Remastered & The Lost Chapters
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
Hah, managed my second read through... though I didn't notice any anomalies... I mean bonus extras etc. Just as good the second time. Now to re-read Whispers. DId find just two teeny weeny little bloopers. One, on the trip to Jool there was a conversation with Berdous and at one point you said 'Jerdous said'... Gotta look back to find exactly where. When I get a chance (probably tonight) I'll see if I can round that up. Really should have copy pasted the address back then, or at least noted the chapter number. Two. I may be misremembering, but doesn't Valentina end up at the Mun Station in Whispers? At the end of Shadow you have Edgas coming back to the munstation and finding everything just as they left it... that doesn't match what I remember happening. Wasn't there a rover missing at least? Or is my memory playing tricks on me? This is an Awesome story with a capital AWE. I really hope to see more to this. I haven't finished re-reading Whispers, and last time I was reading it it wasn't finished, so if you have posted that a sequal/prequel to that is in the works I haven't noticed yet. -
Whispers of the Kraken (Epilogue: Revelations of the Kraken)
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
"Snakes? I hate snakes!" I'm pretty sure it's a reference to the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. But there are so many such trinkets to lose in there! I sometimes wonder if a certain learned medical practisioner might be wandering it's halls looking for a large blue box with a blinking light. "I know I parked it somewhere near here?" -

For god's sake, I just hope the bird is the driver of the red sportscar with the white 'L' stripe, and not Dor-pay. That chicken got to get his-self some platform shoes man! The brakes man, the brakes! -

Darkness has a foil, and it's light shall pierce the depths. Oh, and Valentina.exe does not have the lib file for the term 'Fail.' -
Whispers of the Kraken (Epilogue: Revelations of the Kraken)
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
Ouch! If that'd happened to us we'd be in trouble. Salesmen tracked us down and hunted us mercilessly a while ago. Now we are the proud *sigh* owners of a water purification system (that breaks down a lot and needs expensive servicing) and has a large water tank. If ours broke like that it'd drain the tank, strain the Stenner motor, empty the chlorine tanks...etc... etc... etc... Hope you get your system fully operational and ship shape.... Fashions of Bristol optional. -
Whispers of the Kraken (Epilogue: Revelations of the Kraken)
Patupi replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
Great work, and the shivers just keep coming! It'll be interesting to see how she explains it all to... and who does she think will believe her? Heading back home to Commisar? May be tricky. And great work on the red herring of the goo cannister. Nope, not gonna happen twice like that... especially before the other instance of face hitting. Maybe later. -
Whispers of the Kraken (Epilogue: Revelations of the Kraken)

My betting is on either Empire of the Kraken, or 'Kraken's Revenge: The Tentacles Slaps Back!' -
Hmm, I thought I'd deleted the folders first but maybe I forgot. I'll give it a go. EDIT: OK, yup.. I was an idiot. That fixed it. Thanks . Command and control, payload and coupling tabs are back in place. Much appreciated. 2nd EDIT: Though Fuel tanks tab also seems to be missing. That's easy to find in the other tab style lists, but might want to fix that. 3rd EDIT: Um... OK, that's weird. I'm adding in the log file as this might not be as simple as I thought. The Fuel tanks weren't there in the tabs for one rocket, but were for the next? This without exiting and reloading the game. Very odd.

OK, I've had a rather busy (and annoying) day or I'd have posted this earlier, but I've also ran into the parts not showing. Mainly it seems to be the function tabs, specifically SAS units and decouplers. If I dig around in other tabs I can eventually find them, but it's like wading through a lot to find which one has it included. At least now I know where to look, but it's still frustrating. Right now I don't have any tabs relating to decouplers on their own except 'Multi-Coupler' and the standard structure tab, which vanilla 1.2 moved the decouplers out of anyway. I've updated to 2.7.2 and it didn't seem to help. I'm currently running MKS/OKS, USI Life support, KSPI-E, Better Burn Time, CRP, Editor Extensions Redux, Field training facility, Mech Jeb 2, persistent Rotation (I'm not sure where that came from. I think it came with another mod. I didn't install that on purpose), Tweakscale, Stage recovery and Blizzy's tool bar. The tool bar may no longer be needed as I'm pretty sure the only thing using it was KSPI-E and that no longer needs it. I didn't have any errors so I doubt it'll help but here's the KSP.log file

KSP Interstellar Extended Continued Development Thread
Patupi replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
OK, I made the mistake of adding in this and stage recovery at the same time and now am not certain which is doing this. I have an issue that decouplers are not showing up on any of the categories except the 'advanced mode structural part' tab. The standard tabs have been re-organized with some new symbols (quite nice ones actually) and that might be the cause. Hmm, just a thought, could Blizzy's toolbar still being in there affect it? I didn't take it out for this update despite nothing now using it (I think). I'm going to go check on stage recovery thread as well to see if anything has cropped up there. EDIT: Actually some other modded parts are not showing up as well, some in any tab. I don't have time now to get info or pics (just heading to work) I'll try to get something detailed later. One I noticed was supplies storage from MKS which showed up fine before, but now has vanished after updating this and adding in stage recovery. -

KSP Interstellar Extended Continued Development Thread
Patupi replied to FreeThinker's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
I too am getting an error, this on module manager during load up, saying there is an issue with KSPI_CTT.cfg It still seems I can run the game, and it occurs even after I re-install the mod (as I have other mods too and I worried that something else had over-written something from KSPI) so I'm not certain what the issue is. I'm using Blizzy's toolbar, the CTT (obviously), editor extensions, Field traning facility, IFS, Mechjeb, Tweakscale, USI LS & MKS. Here is the KSP log file (And quite a long one too!) -

Whispers of the Kraken (Epilogue: Revelations of the Kraken)

I'm on my Android tablet so might be different for others (Chrome Browser if you need to know) and the last entry doesn't match courier or Times New Roman. My guess would be true type variant of Courier with varied spaces as apposed to the constant width normal with that. Might be Arial as well. More likely the latter.
