what ^ this man said. Bob needs a lot more views, especially looking at the time he spends on his movies

If only there was an atmosphere-less planet with a moon.. wow that would save so much dV..can't wait to give that a try seems to be a lot better for crafts than diving to 12.5 km into the atmosphere of Duna..

Constellation V2 (All Dres-ed up)
WooDzor replied to WooDzor's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
So that white crater edge was 9 kilometres up a 30+ degree slope, the mini rover performed well as always, but Loddan had forgotten the camera. En route to the Constellation V2. After dropping all the excessive wait to save fuel (incl the lander can and the dragon) the KOI (Kerbol Orbit Insertion) burn was initiated With an orbital speed of over 3.500 m/s and only vapors left in the tank, Loddan wanted to make up for forgetting the camera and came up with the brilliant plan to aerobreak the Constellation at 32.500 meters. The 5 man crew is waiting in a 150x150 parking orbit to be picked up by 2 Dragons. Mission Success Keeping in mind that the orange tanks were only half full when I left Kerbin, I could easily add about 20% to 25% more dV to this craft. Ike (I haven't been there manned since 0.19), Gilli, Pol and Bob are to be next. There was only one minor hick-up on Dres, while driving to the crater edge Patwin hit a pothole and flipped the rover in such a way that both Kerbals got stuck in the rover and after being ejected they just stood there smiling uncontrollably. (as in I couldn't control them) A quick reload made the two Kerbals disappear and I had to text edit them back into the same location. I will update the first post in a minute with the craft files. -
Constellation V2 (All Dres-ed up)

It's all stock. Even the cute round windows on the Mothership I have 97 days to the return to Kerbin window. i am thinking about driving to the white crater edge and put a flag there. Though I am not quite sure how far it is X) -

Love it! Here, have some rep

I present thee: the Constellation V2. 3 launches into orbit. A science lab, two hitchiker cabins, a lander, and large enough to be seen from 2 kilometres with the naked eye. A Dragon is available as a contingency and to allow for orbital maneuvers in the dark around Dres. It was also used to bring half of the 5 man crew(there is space for 13 Kerbals though, but that wouldn't be nice) to the interplanetary ship. The Kerbals are on their way on their first voyage to Dres After a couple of mid transit burns the Kerbals have reached orbit around Dres Getting rid of the drop tank after pumping all the fuel to the interplanetary drive After eva-ing the Kerbals to the lander it is undocked from the mothership Time to land WOOHOOO! DOWNLOADS SPH Interplanetary MPV V2 performed as planned. I could physicswarp 3x and thing still kept nicely pointed at the blue marker. VAB Interplanetary Drive V2 performed as planned. Could use a bit more oomph. Nobody enjoys sitting through a 21 minute burn. The orange droptank The launcher needs some work. It's an old remnant from the original Constellation mission. It is possible to get into orbit the only problem is that it uses fuel from the the orange tanks. So fill up the tanks properly. Bang a proper launcher under it and you're good to go

Maiden voyage of the Constellation MPV v.2. We're going to Dres for the first time. Wish me luck Obviously I didn't bring the Jebs and the 3 three Kerbals named after my pets -
It's my ancient safe and let's say that my space agency got decent funding through some messing about in the sfs file :-D http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/84370-Apollo-14-%28Pic-Heavy%28like-very%29%29 <-link to the original Mun mission. I don't know yet what to do with it, I was surprised i made it work..

Added an extra stage to my already big Saturn V. 12.000KN thrust for just under 1,200 ton rocket And end up with half my rocket left in orbit.. ..and with some modifications I am sure I could land on Ike:D
-
cute BUT what if you move the middle wheels slightly up, so the rear wheels touch the ground. And I would probably put the front wheels on one of these tiny struts and clip it through the probe core, so all the wheels are lined out nicely.. Just a thought - - - Updated - - -

I tested my new Duna Lander It's launched on top of my Saturn V. Has a funky looking heatshield Uses my Apollo Command Module as a back to orbit vehicle. .. but I don't like how it looks.. and I don't think the return vehicle has enough fuel to make it back to Duna Orbit

Subbed! awesome stuff Moar old school missions!! -
'2. Apollo-style landers. This is basically asking for cargo stages. An empty tube with a decoupler on the bottom, inside, for the cargo.' While I agree with some of the comments you made, I am afraid that I have to strongly disagree with you there. I feel KSP is like lego, (back in the days) you had the blocks you had and that was it. Sometimes you had to use the blue roof tiles on a house because you just didn't have a choice. The same with KSP and I love it. I wish this game had existed or that lego was clippable when I was a kid. I am not trying to show off but have a look at the link. I think it is very much possible to make good looking functional rockets in KSP. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/84441-Apollo-15 (all stock)

I discovered a window to MOHO and since I never managed to land on or even get into orbit around MOHO I decided to give it a go. Launch Interplanetary burn with the third stage. the last 5 minutes of my 15 minute orbit insertion burn around Moho. I brought a rover and a simple lander, but unfortunately the blue torch propelling this contraption wasn't enough to slow it down. I tried different landing techniques and in the end I decided that it was going to be an orbiter. I was always under the impression that Moho was friendly like Minmus.. it isn't with (according to my probe) a 4th of Kerbin's gravity. I was quite chuffed to fly straight over the Mohole on the first pass after only one mid-course correction burn just after leaving Kerbin's SOI. Also I managed to destroy a probe on both Ike and Duna, due to clumsiness :-/ good thing I brought a couple.

Nice so you managed to beat Ike with Tina
-
^^I did that in 0.19 once :S

requests account deletion with his first post.. *walks away*

Just left Kerbin's SOI 8) AW YIS! 208 days until arrival Some diagram i made for a forum friend to explain how land two crafts close to eachother.. another busy day at work

Have you tried Eve? the atmosphere is a lot thicker there. -
I am in the middle of an 11 minute burn :-/

'We choose to go to the moon. We choose to ... ..make it possible to go to the moon and do those things and some other stuff as well.' ~Felbourn, Project Odyssey 18 Haha! Bit of a quote mine but it made me smile:D Well done. And don't worry about episodes like these, to be honest I actually like these more

picture????? <- Sorry had to add more question marks because the forum doesn't allow me to post short posts..

Excuse me sir, I am very sorry to bother you, but you seem to have misplaced some cheese on your probe
