  1. Weird thing was it was perfectly fine on the Mun. Just during the landing something went wrong, I also had some trouble with the service module.. Thing got stuck but during re-entry it suddenly fell off, probably due to different atmospheric drag on the 2 parts. At the same time, you can't expect too much from a craft that wasn't tested. Doing it the Jeb-way 8)
  2. I don't have an Ares V lying around so the next step might take a bit longer.. Messed around with your Gemini Challenge, good fun!
  3. ^^ And that's what I meant with a clean craft! Love it!
  4. Woodzor's Gemini Mun Landing I tried this challenge a long time ago and decided to give it another go. The craft is based on what I found on this website. I used a slightly modified version of my Saturn I and a slightly updated version of my Gemini Craft. In addition I added a landing stage in between. (all stock) Saturn I Launch Second Stage orbital burn completed Landing legs seem to be operational oooh Aaaah! I had too much fuel in the Gemini, which resulted in a 3 minute burn to get rid of the excessive fuel (fixed in the craft file) And Mackie and Rumple Kerman (named after my two dogs) are on their way home hoopla! Home sweet home! Mackie got stuck inside the capsule for some reason the landing resulted in his door being blocked :-) DOWNLOAD Primary mission objective (+20): Possible Launch Profiles: Direct ascent: Launch one spacecraft and establish a Munar orbit. A second, direct-ascent mission for an emergency craft may be launched. Bonus points: Mission Direct Ascent (+4): Using a single launch, establish a crewed Munar orbit. Landing prestige: One Kerbal on the Mun (+7). Second Kerbal on the Mun (+4). Capsule Happy together (+3): Both crew members are never separated by more than 10km We're done with that (+3): Detachable support module (Jettison from command module before Kerbin landing at least three of:RCS cells, electrical systems, lighting, legs, retro package) Lifter That looks like Saturn 1B! (+4): At least one of the rockets uses a first stage cluster with 8 engines Lander Dropping some weight (+3): At least one of the primary or backup Munar surface return vessels leaves behind its Munar descent stage. Making it count (+2): Earn 'Dropping some weight' and have a powered probe core on the discarded descent stage. Must remain powered at least until the crew lands on Kerbin. Recovery Welcome home (+10): Both crew return to Kerbin We can take it (+3): Be able to safely return to Kerbin on water or land without damage. (not really damaged, just a jammed door) Total 63 I think
  5. Awesome stuff! You made me realize I need a MIR again too
  6. Failed Mission to Eve I spend my whole day building this craft, with a science lab and staged ascent etc. Kerbal Space Program has never defeated me like this I managed to get back up to 20.000m. Poor Rumple Kerman stuck on eve now.. good thing he's got his cute little science lab
  7. WooDzor Constellation Challenge R&D 4_Munar Flyby The mission started from Copernicus and landed on Kerbin. Managed to get up to 15Gs during re-entry. To the drawing boards! I need an Ares V and an Altair! Design Total= 16 Mission Total= 8
  8. WooDzor Constellation Challenge R&D 3_Dock to Spacestation For people interested; The Copernicus has plenty of fuel to go to Elo and back. 2 hitchhikers + a science lab (in total enough room for 10 Kerbals) and is build up from 3 launches. (Hab Module + girder, engine block and finally the orange tank) The crew is flown to Copernicus in 2 seperate launches since I have not developed an LKO craft for more than 3 Kerbals. Crew Vehicle (Orion) Supports at least 4 crew (+4) Each crew over 4, up to 6 crew maximum (+1 each; max +2) Self-contained multi-purpose spacecraft: Launch Escape System (LES), Power, RCS fuel/thrusters, orbital maneuvering engine/fuel, docking port, probe core (+2) Service module: Before landing, drops orbital maneuvering engine and all it's fuel and at least a portion of RCS fuel (+2) Safely touches down on land and water (+1) Solar/battery electrical only (no RTG) (+2) Block 1/2 bonus: Develop a Block 2 with slightly higher delta-V. Block 1 is intended for low orbit missions and the Block 2 for Munar/deep space missions (+1) Design Total= 16 Mission Total= 6
  9. WooDzor Constellation Challenge R&D 1_Boilerplate R&D 2 Launch Escape Crew Launch Vehicle (Ares I) Two stage rocket to LKO (+2) Does not jettison any radial stages (solid or liquid tanks/engines) (+2) Can carry Orion Block 1 to low orbit without using any fuel from the Orion service module (+1) (extremely tight) Can carry Orion Block 2 to low orbit without using any fuel from the Orion service module (+2) (not sure what a block 2 is, but I don't think I have one yet) Uses any solid fuel booster on first stage (+1) Uses only solid fuel on first stage (+3) Design Total= 9 Mission Total= 2
  10. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/71225-Consternation-Mission-to-Duna ok lemme try and combine some missions of mine into one another little teaser :# I am downloading the youtube movie from your first post.. let's get this right
  11. I've got these two babies lying around in the VAB do you think I'd be eligible for the challenge? Or do you prefer people start from the beginning?
  12. Pretty as always! but doesn't yet look as refined as the more developed crafts... <edit that felt like a comsult> what I was trying to say is that it still looks a bit rough around the edges
  13. also.. auto save is your friend. I always promise myself to write down the working altitudes, but I end up being so chuffed with myself i managed that i forget. same thing with the ideal orbital angles(not the word) of planets :-/ Prolly why I don't own a real space agency and I am only allowed to play KSP BTW nice mission!
  14. Ha fellow Dutchie! Have a look at it's amazing. I tried to get as close to it as possible, but it still needs some work..
  15. I remember that com tower inside your massive ssto.. that must have been a well-trained female dog to land..
  16. Environmental Visual Enhancements Also added chatterer 2 weeks ago. otherwise I am completely vanilla
  17. Launch Orbital insertion burn decoupling the interplanetary stage stabilising craft with RCS decoupling the heat shield Dropping the rover and skycrane Landed! impacting the skycrane Broken wheel due to physical time warp Otherwise .. Prettttty goood DOWNLOAD
  18. @dieguscus you might want to try something like this: 4xbig solids clipped, orange tank + mainsail and as a cherry on the cake you can place your little toy on top.
  19. Just a quick orbiting launch with my Dragon this morning. I've been trying to keep my KSP stock, but chatterer and environmental enhancement really adds to the experience
  20. You sick puppy! You know what happens with turtoises when they're upside down! :-|
  21. Bob, would you mind putting episode 10 in the Project Odyssey folder.. Took me a while to find it yesterday Great episode, nice seeing you 'experiment/messing around'
  22. Impressive! (out of rep points) I haven't yet built a new Saturn V. Slowly working my way towards it I am thinking about creating all the Apollo missions starting from 5.. If only I had the time :-/
