That's because Kerbin's atmosphere is much denser than Duna's so they have less Isp and therefore less thrust.

I finally did it...I found the craft file and resurrected the beast. It lags a ton more than I remember and makes the game crash every two minutes, but I'm so happy I found it.

His patch still seems to cause a small but annoying freeze for me every time I come out of timewarp. It might have to do with RPM. EDIT: Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it seems like it still has the space-center-gets-destroyed-when-you-leave-Kerbin's-SOI bug. Pity.

Pressing F10 however doesn't disable the incredibly rushed and ugly part highlights that show if something is overheating. HeatWarning seems to disable this, however, and provides a better and memory leak free replacement for the stock temperature gauges.
