Hmmm... I guess maybe post a copy of your KSP.log file, and maybe someone more knowledgable can help... You can also open the file, and scan it for lines starting with [ERR or [WRN and see if they give any clues... It should be something easy, as those are small, basic plugins, and IIRC, are usually trouble free and play nice with other mods...

This snippet from the link above: "In 2009, IBM shipped System x machines (x3550 M2, x3650 M2, iDataPlex dx360 M2) and BladeCenter HS22 with UEFI capability. Dell shipped PowerEdge T610, R610, R710, M610 and M710 servers with UEFI capability. More commercially available systems are mentioned in a UEFI whitepaper.[64] In 2011, major vendors (such as ASRock, Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI) launched several consumer-oriented motherboards using the Intel 6-series LGA 1155 chipset and AMD 9 Series AM3+ chipsets with UEFI.[65] With the release of Windows 8 in October 2012, Microsoft's certification requirements now require that computers include firmware that implements the UEFI specification. Furthermore, if the computer supports the "Connected Standby" feature of Windows 8 (which allows devices to have power management comparable to smartphones, with an almost instantaneous return from standby mode), then the firmware is not permitted to contain a Compatibility Support Module (CSM). As such, systems that support Connected Standby are incapable of booting Legacy BIOS operating systems.[66][67]" Yes, UEFI has been around quite awhile, but it wasnt till, really, with Win 8 release, that MS pretty much started FORCING it on all new hardware running Win 8...

Thanx for this...I've been using Kip's ports, but after installing it and AdaptiveDockingNodes on 1.0.2, I got all sorts of weird docking issues...So I'll give this a try also... - - - Updated - - - ^^ x2 ... I hardly ever using the Jr at all, and also mostly need a port that can handle 2.5m & 1.25m WITH crew passage... Combining THESE two into one with CLS compatability would SERIOUSLY improve my parts count & simplify/streamline my ship/station design and layout.

There shouldnt be any dependencies...They are just simple plugin mods...If there are, it's pretty standard for the dev to usually list any right in the OP of the release thread...Oh, and I just scanned DPAI thread, and it says it defaults to Blizzy's Toolbar if that is installed...SO you probably WOULDNT see the DPAI icon in the stock bar... Here's some threads you should check out quick: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/123158-How-To-Installing-mods http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/111281-Installing-Mods-on-the-Mac http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/40814-How-to-install-mods-on-Mac-OS-X

If they are installed correctly, the Simple Orbital Calculator should put an "SOC" button on the stock toolbar, and the DPAI should put an orange circle with crosshairs on a button in the stock toolbar... You MAY have to be on a screen where the apps can be used on, tho... Blizzy's Toolbar should show a square icon, with a grid of smaller, colored squares, and a white down-chevron on the right side, somewhere in the middle of your screen...You need to click that white down-chevron to open the drop-down menu and setup Blizzy's toolbar... Also, on the SOC & DPAI stock toolbar buttons, you should be able to open up their respective windows, and somewhere in each one, there should be checkboxes for toggling the stock toolbar icon & Blizzy Toolbar icon...Set them appropriately...

Hmmm.. You may need to do a Google for KSPAPI, and see what mods used it, then check each mod's release thread to see if you need a specific bundled version, or if the latest standalone .dll version will work... Sorry not much more help... EDIT: Actually, I just checked my extensive list of mods for it, and these use it: Glow Strips Smart Parts Tweakscale Then I Googled, and got led right back to the standalone release thread... doh! If you check post #4 of the thread I linked above, you will find your list of mods that use it. Smart of swamp_ig to require mod dev's to register their use of it, huh?... 2nd EDIT: Just came across this post in another thread concerning KSPAPI use on a mod that uses it: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/64227-1-0-4-Smart-Parts-v1-6-6-DDS-Textures-and-Bug-Fixes-July-5?p=2165510&viewfull=1#post2165510 Also read post #495 (a couple posts down) for a possible fix.

You can try highlighting your GameData folder, then up in the Windows Explorer search box, do a search for: KSPAPI It should show any copies of the .dll anywhere in your install. I know there were several mods that use(d) that .dll IIRC, for awhile support for it may have been on hiatus, but here's the latest release thread for KSPAPI Ext: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/81496 Also, from what (I think,) I understand, some mods are dependent on SPECIFIC versions of the .dll...I guess that means they are customized by the specific mod dev, and THAT is why it comes packaged with several mods, and why you can have several copies in different mod folders...AND why just installing the latest stand-alone version of the .dll may not work either...

Space Station & Nuclear Tug set (WIP)
Stone Blue replied to Aegeas's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Thanx!...I usually end up having to make my tugs with modded parts, which makes it difficult to carry them over to future releases of KSP... Cant wait to try these... But, ummm... The links for the downloads merged together, so you can only get the Tug... -
Will the real longitude please stand up.
Stone Blue replied to Fengist's topic in KSP1 C# Plugin Development Help and Support
Hmmm... So I'm assuming THIS is why I can never get consistent Lat/Long displays from several mods at the same time...??? -
IIRC, 0.13 was the last FREE version of KSP, and I seem to remember people posting and saying those were OK to distribute...But from 0.14 on, you had to PURCHASE your copy of KSP...So anything after 0.13 is not legal to distribute. (At least publicly...But that is another discussion). Since KSP seems to update relatively quickly, every 3-5 mos., best thing to do is download each new update, and keep copies for yourself. (So far, you pay just once, and you are entitled to, IIRC, all future updates).

Any new news on this for a 1.0.4, 1.0.2, or even just a 1.0 release update?
-
I've been using Lightbeam for about 6mos now. It doesnt show much, because I use NoScript, Adblock Plus, Ghostery, Blur (formerly Do Not Track) and HTTPS Everywhere... Plus i also use CCleaner every few days to clear my Firefox cache...Or right before and right after I do any online financial transactions... Oh, and using Private Browsing in Firefox for those types of online activities helps too... But its a great tool to see what MIGHT still be getting through...

Stone Blue replied to helldiver's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So has anyone just tried converting the existing textures to .dds for this to work in 1.0.x? -
Essential mods for weak computers
Stone Blue replied to Boom_Mcsplodey's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
^^ Yup everything G'th said... Also as far as the Lazor Docking cam, if thats all your using it for, if you use IVA's and RPM, you can install Hullcam VDS to get a nice IVA docking cam view on all your docking ports using an MFD in IVA view... I have been using KSP ModAdmin to cull parts mods...It is still kind of tedious and time consuming, but it definately makes it easier, as it shows both the part name shown in the VAB/SPH, and the folder/file names which dont always match...Plus, you delete the parts right in the prugram, instead of having to manually find and delete folders...Just be careful, as some mods reuse the same textures for multiple parts... It also shows you a total parts count in your KSP install... With 1.0 introducing the switch to using .dds textures, I'm sure most mods have benefited from folder/file on-disk and RAM shrinkage, but parts heavy packs STILL take up RAM for each part, as they all still get loaded, so you still run into large in-game parts counts...You can ALWAYS benefit from culling parts yoou never use, or that are basically duplicates of stock or other mod parts... -
What site to use to upload .craft files to
Stone Blue replied to Snikersnee's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Yeah, kerbalX... IIRC, it automatically detects required mods, and adds them to the listing... -
Is my KSP "bleeding"?
Stone Blue replied to p1t1o's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
If you are running a Windows OS, and pushing total RAM usage with lots of mods, it may be a Windows process (or other background process on your system) kicking in and pushing you past the limit. You could try this mod (which, IIRC, has a low RAM footprint), and see if there are large variances in JUST the KSP usage... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/92907 I used to have a dual-boot Windows install where one of the OS's I streamlined, and turned off all unnecessary (not needed for playing KSP) Windows background processes...You can use this website as a guide: http://www.blackviper.com/ By turning off all networking and internet access processes (if you can play KSP without internet access), you generally cut Windows OS RAM usage by 300-500 MBs... (I went from 1.2GB to 750MB RAM usage at idle). Windows Task Manager is your friend to see what is going on with Windows RAM usage and what processes and background programs are running... Thats why I made a separate streamlined Windows install ONLY for playing KSP, with TONS of mods...I was able to run close to 120 mods this way... Also, since there is no internet access, you should be OK running with NO firewall and/or anti-virus, which eats up TONS of RAM... -
Essential mods for weak computers

^^ Which means you also need to be running a 64bit OS...Many older low-end to mid laptops from just 3 or 4 yrs ago (I dont now if new ones still do), run 32bit Windows... Also, 64bit KSP was dropped for 0.90 wasnt it?...I know there was talk of starting new development on it, IIRC once Unity 5 releases...Has that happened yet? -
Essential mods for weak computers
Stone Blue replied to Boom_Mcsplodey's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Computer specs would help. Well, to start with, all those mods you listed are pretty large parts packs, or resource intensive mods. You may need to pick just a couple and go with those. The nice thing about KSP is you can run many separate installs on your computer at the same time...So you could have a separate install mainly geared around Karbonite, one around OPT, and one around a larger planets pack. As to your fan, I bought a Thermaltake laptop cooler, and definately use it when running KSP. If you are on Windows, make sure you have at least 4GB of RAM (6GB or more is optimal)...OR you could try switching to a lightweight Linux OS to run 64bit KSP on. On my 3yr old laptop, I streamlined my Win7 OS down to around 750MB of RAM at idle, and cut lots of parts that I dont use (both stock and from the MANY mods I have run). With a meager i5 2450M CPU, 6GB RAM, & my integrated Nvidia GT630M, I've managed to run over 120 mods at one time...(granted 2/3 or better were basically partless, plugin mods). I've since switched to Linux (Lubuntu), which only uses about 230MB of RAM, and have been running lots of mods, and run my RAM usage up to 4.6GB of RAM...I still have quite a few more mods to add...Hopefully I can get away with using up to 5.25GB just for KSP... -
The Linux Thread!
Stone Blue replied to sal_vager's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Hagen, Good choice... I'm a Linux newb, and tried Kubuntu first, but for some reason, i had issues with it installing...So i tried my 2nd choice, Lubuntu, and the install was SUPER easy, and NO issues getting it to triple boot with my existing Win7/Win8.1 dual-boot... I mainly just wanted Linux to SOLELY play KSP, but I've been using it as my primary OS more and more. Stuff that I still need to do that I havent figured out how to do with Linux yet, I just boot into one of my Windows OS's, easy-peasey... I'm slowly adding more and more mods to my KSP Linux 1.0.2 install...I LOVE all the RAM headroom that Lubuntu gives me..The OS only uses up around 230MB of RAM at idle...I have 6GB of RAM (5.8 useable), and have pushed KSP to 4.5GB so far with no issues.. I'm ordering a new stick of RAM in a couple days to end up with at least 8GB... And yes, so far, i have found all the mods I've installed worked fine on Linux...These are the same .zips that I use for KSP on Windows. Oh, and the biggest hurdle you may run into at first, is video drivers, depending on what you have. I've seen lots of issues with Nvidia cards & Linux, and had a little bit of Googling and tweaking to do, but finally got KSP to use my Nvidia graphics pretty easily. -
I thought maybe I was the only one with several KSP installs... Right now, I have 0.90 & 1.0.2 heavily modded, and a lightly modded 1.0.4 right now on Windows that I can play either on Win7 or Win8.1, with a heavily modded 1.0.2 and lightly modded 1.0.4 on 64bit Linux, all on the same computer. But it varies...Sometimes I run more or less... I usually run a heavily modded version, one or two versions back from whatever current version of KSP is out... I do this to give mod devs time to catch up with new KSP versions...Problem is, I spend a couple months getting a nice heavily modded install going, and BAM!...A new release of KSP drops every 3-5 months... LOL ... I almost wish KSP didnt update so quick...lol I was keeping all the install packages from 0.18 when I 1st started playing, but lost everything from 0.24.5 back, except for 0.22 in a HDD crash... Luckily, I still have copies of HUNDREDS of mods, from 0.18 up to 1.04... My overall KSP folder is just over 28 GB...
