Cant make accurate Geostationary orbit.
Stone Blue replied to Razorforce7's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
If all you need is a system to use with RemoteTech, the satellites do not need to be perfectly positioned. As long as they have LOS to at least one other sat, and at least one sat has LOS over KSC, the comm system will work. I had a constellation of just four sats; three that were placed roughly 120° apart, with one about 30° west of KSC, and a 4th, spare sat, placed about 45° east of KSC....All 4 sats had constant LOS with the other 3, and TWO always had LOS to KSC....I never had a problem with lost comms while in Kerbin SOI. -

^^ Really??....So you could use Figaro with just about ANY part?...Awesome... -
What OS are running, lumpman2? If Windows 7 or 8, and with only 4GB of RAM, personally, I would try making a separate dual-boot, Windows partition to run KSP on. All you need is your Windows install media, and an extra 30-40GB of space on your harddrive. OR buy more RAM.... Win7 reserves 164MB of RAM for hardware reserve, then the OS itself can use between 1.25-1.75GB at idle, depending on what startup and background processes you have running....So basically with your computer just sitting there doing nothing, you only have between maybe 2.2-2.7GB left to run KSP with....IIRC, stock unmodified game with most settings set low, runs about 1.2GB at idle....Leaving you maybe 1-1.75GB overhead for the game to use when it starts calculating physics stuff...Not to mention that doesnt leave much left for mods...Especially the big ones like B9 AND KW together....The only thing with running a slimmed sown Win partition for KSP, would be that you would have to disconnect from the internet while playing....Getting down to less than 650MB of system RAM requires not letting all the networking features and firewall and antivirus to run. Running a separate Windows partition running ONLY KSP and NOTHING else, its possible to get Win7 down to using only about 530-650MB of RAM...Meaning you can free up another 600MB-1.2GB of RAM for KSP to use...which means possibly you could possibly have between 3-3.3GB for KSP to use total. Also, have you used the Squad, B9 & KW Texture Reduction packs? http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/51361-0-21-Squad-Texture-Reduction-Pack-B9-and-KW-Packs-also Also look into this: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/59005-0-22-Release-1-Active-Memory-Reduction-Mod With a separate Windows/KSP partition, the texture reduction packs, and the active memory mod, I have 117 (yes, one-hundred-seventeen) mods installed....Including some of the bigger parts mods (though not B9 at this time).... My total RAM usage is around 3.8-4.2GB (I have 6GB installed).

Looking for SDHI Service Module v1.3
Stone Blue replied to therealcrow999's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Or you could just use this link to download it...Sumghai still has it up on Dropbox. https://www.dropbox.com/s/5lxaz6kik3a89h7/ksp_sdhi_sms_v1_3.zip -
Not sure if these will help, as I believe they are used to gather and log info from in-flight, but...: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/38319-0-21-x-Graphotron-2000 http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/logomatic/ http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24594-0-22-Telemachus-%E2%80%93-Telemetry-and-Flight-Control-in-the-Web-Browser I know there are a couple other mods that are for planning flights/missions, but i dont use them, so i dont have links, or even remember mod names, but I'm sure someone will post them up shortly. EDIT: Actually here's one I just came across in the Tools forum. Its a WIP, though: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/36476-WIN-KSP-Trajectory-Optimization-Tool-v0-10-Now-with-Rendezvous-Planner!

I made a giant satellite because hey... why not?
Stone Blue replied to horndgmium's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Hehe...now all thats left to do, is to build the rest of the Death Star around it...lol -
Thats a problem right there, since Spaceport basically sux and there are lots of great new mods that people arent bothering to put on Spaceport....lol I have a list of just over 250 mods with forum/spaceport links if you want to take a look at it to see if there are any you want to add...Just PM me if you want it. At the very least, it might make finding a mod someone requests, easier...Since it has the forum/Spaceport links you can just click once and you got it.

[1.2?] Alchemy Technologies products... v1.2 beta
Stone Blue replied to kyklop's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
So with the new combined upload, does that mean all the other separate mods will no longer be supported?...I've been using them all except the SCRAMjet mod. -
Speaking of Spaceport, I dont like that they put a "prefix" on all the filenames. ie "uploads_2013_11_".....What good does that do an end user to know it was uploaded to Spaceport sometime in Nov. 2013?.....AND how is someone supposed to organize their mod .zips alphabetically?....So yeah, when downloading every file, I have to delete this "prefix"...

Building circular stuff in the VAB
Stone Blue replied to 3mon's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Looks good, but what is the parts count on that thing? -
Or worse....might give the impression its no longer supported or abandoned...So why would someone download and try it if it might end up killing their saved games?

In case you're interested, you could also give these a try: (They are just single parts, no plugins) http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/bigfrikinring/ http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/wayland-corp-space-station-o-ring-truss-pack/ -
Nice to know ...I havent had to try it on this forum, but most I have ever been on do not allow you to edit a thread title.

SPACE STATIONS! Post your pictures here
Stone Blue replied to tsunam1's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Those are cooling radiator panels by ZZZ...Thats why they are 90° off from the solar panels...If you search, he/she made the panels available as a WIP all by themselves...Check ZZZ's thread....Sorry I dont have the link handy. -
I'm not a modder, nor even a programmer/coder/modeler....But if everyone will humor me, I'll throw in my layman's two-cents. I also do not see much need in standardizing version numbers as an end user, the only thing I need version numbers for is to know if there is a newer one than the one I currently have. As an end user, I would be happy just to see ALL authors at least even USE version numbers at all....Lots of mods I have do not have ANY version listed, so when I download them, i add the best guess at release date to the file name, which works just about as well for me. I agree, I like seeing the dates in the thread title...But can the thread title be edited to reflect new updates? Also, I still see a lot of mods that can be a bit confusing as far as meeting the "official" new folder structure... I would much rather see improvements on THOSE points, rather than a standardized file version format. Although from the stand point of some authors who have mods/utilities coming that have/will have auto-update for mods, I assume a standardized format would make THEIR lives a lot easier...and in the end make users of those items happy...So in that respect, I guess my vote would be to go ahead and try it.

Woohoo...This mod ROCKS!!... My latest setup running this mod, and a couple needed texture packs, on my i5 6GB RAM laptop, is currently running 117 installed mods, (1382 parts!! )...AND I'm not even running that on my dual-boot, streamilined KSP partition yet, AND have not trimmed out unneeded parts yet...Launched a simple rocket using the Leviathan launcher, and warped it into interstellar space at max warp, and KSP RAM maxed out at 3.04GB... YES! So hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in even more mods after testing the current setup to make sure all the parts and plugins are actually working... THANK YOU AGAIN, RBRAY!!!

Absolutely there is.... . . . . . HyperEdit!! .... LMAO

There's: http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/quantum-strut/ and: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/48086-0-21-1-Docking-Strut-1-0-1-0 I know they were both good to go for 0.21, and worked well for me....Not sure if they work with 0.22, though, or if they can be added to the techtree or not...???

KSP Mod Admin by MacTee makes trimming parts packs easier: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/26031-Win-KSP-Mod-Admin-v1-3-10-Mod-install-with-a-few-clicks Using the Parts tab, you can quickly select as many parts as you want to delete, with one click of a button. You can also re-install them just as easily. There are several options for sorting Parts, which helps too... If you .ZIP or .RAR your Squad folder, then use KSPMA to install it like any other mod, then you can also easily delete/re-install stock parts as well...

MacTee, have you seen this yet: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/58131-Kerbal-Updater-v0-2 If you're interested, you should see if the author wants to collaborate, so you could possibly incorporate the code...Might save you some time?
