  1. i think people who start these sorts of threads, are either self conscious about mods that they use, or design tools or what ever and are looking for a reassuring pat on the back that they are in the right. I am NOT implying that this is the case here, but, it seems to be a commonality. Look, its this simple: Do you enjoy the game using what ever tool<s> you have at your disposal in a single player game? if so, then YAY, if not? find a way to enjoy it, or walk away. no. it does not depend on how reasonable you are about it. Why? its a single player game, and it effects NO ONE but the OP. I have said this I have no many times since I joined in 2013: MODS =/= cheating. design tools =/= cheating. Why? it is not giving you an unnatural advantage over me or anyone else, as it is SINGLE PLAYER. I just wish these sorts of topics would end.
  2. this is a single player game. Cheating is a non issue. Cheating only becomes relevant when playing with players, and only then, if the "cheat" in question is providing an unfair or unnatural advantage to you over the other players. This is why, this is not cheating, nor is any other mod for this game, as, again, all players are playing in a self contained universe that is not connected to other players. And yes, I am intentionally disregarding the current multiplayer mod.
  3. codedthreat, you are not the only one seeing this kind of behavior. Das Valdez is streaming live right now, and he has had those little bays rip his stuff apart too.
  4. ive seen some impressive pics on stuff thats been built since 1.0 came out. There is a reason some designs get built over and over again. Its because they WORK. Its why there are countless 767's and MD80's and even 737's in the skies. The design works for each of those birds. That being said, there is a counter point. most craft built prior to 1.0 were built when the game was vastly different, and what worked then, probably wont work now. We will adapt. YOU will adapt. Things will get prettier if you have the patience to watch.
  5. im not reporting you at all. I was hunting for clarity that a burned out college mind just isnt seeing. jokes all fun until ya put a persons eye out. tho as a side note, that would be a major bug if a parachute not only deployed itself, but ate system files lol. lets keep out our cans of raid just in case?
  6. I am just gonna say this much: a game, any game, has hundreds of thousands of lines of code, if not MILLIONS of lines of code by time you reach a product that is acceptable enough and close enough to the initial design ideal to call a 1.0 product. Look, if you change 1 thing in one line of code, what does that single change do for line 120343 or line 343043? do you even SEE the effect right away? is the effect good or bad? is it subtle enough to be not seen until someone not on the design team or QA team does something that was unexpected and made it pop up? It is delusional in all sincerity to think let alone expect or demand a 100% flawless product. No product is perfect. There is always a flaw somewhere. Perhaps its so minor that it doesnt matter, like say a small bubble in the glass that makes up a glass coffee mug, or perhaps its severe, like say something that causes that glass to shatter at the first cup of coffee. Look, coding isnt easy. if it was, we ALL would do it. Squad is a SMALL design house that is infact NOT a design house by original design, it is an advertisement firm iirc. Heck, even a MAJOR design house like say UBISOFT has launched products that have had multimillion dollar design budgets with odd glitches. Doubt me? Look on google for the funny stuff that goes wrong in a number of the AC games. Just chill, wait, relax.
  7. Ok, to the first half of this. How are mods cheating? I honestly cannot tell if your being sarcastic or not, too burned out by school to try to figure it out. Ok, to the second half of this: how or why does it delete system32 if you stage a parachute? if thats anything other than sarcasm then, thats a real problem. again, too burned out by school to try to figure it out.
  8. Kasper, source? okies. here you go, from another forum poster. and just to be fair, im NOT the first person to make the accusation and thus, its not me trying to start riots, but, actually being very concerned for what I am reading.
  9. im coming out of hiding for this one. IF there is truth to this rumor that HarvesteR won his OWN contest, I am going to have to say this: what a CROCK OF GOO! I am sorry, but, if he truly did "win" this contest, then, it was all a cruel prank on us. Most contests run on planet earth, AUTOMATICALLY disqualify employees, families of employees or anyone having anything to DO with the business that is hosting said contest. I am sorry, but, if this is in fact true, this is a HUGE Public Relations NIGHTMARE for Squad, as it dramatically harms their reputation. This is just bad form Squad, pure bad form.
  10. Thicker atmospherics raise the level of difficulty. Partly it was assumption of your progress.
  11. i think, atmospherics as well. then maybe clouds can be added, and weather hehe
  12. your choice, but, it isnt pointless, as it helps bring this game yet one more step closer to finished NOW, if they suddenly updated us back to .15, then, yea, that would be pointless, but any advance they make, including going to 64 bit support, is anything but pointless over all.
  13. you and me both lethal. you and me both.
  14. oddly enough, this is how I figured it could work. I always assumed that what was ALREADY in flight, was there, free of charge or w/e, and that we need to build up to be able to SERVICE that stuff. BUT, if thats not the case, and we are forced back to day one, then, ya know what? So what. If I can rebuild my missions: read: get the money to launch my ships, then, its all good. I am ready. Bring what may come!
  15. assuming it breaks. I came in just as .21 hit, and ive not yet seen a save break from an update. Did it happen prior? yup, but not lately, I for one, see HOW it could happen, but am not anticipating it. Prepped though I may be.
  16. Just because something NEW such as contracts is being added, does NOT 100% promise the detonation of our current saves. I myself have made certain my vessels are ready to roll out in a new save should my current break. Preparation is everything. I have vessels in flight right now with ion drives on them, and with the update in .23.5 that added more power to them, they did not break, nor did the saves, the parts got tweaked, thats all. I am certain that they have thought far enough ahead to cope with such things as games in progress.
  17. while I agree on the learn sooner thing, its also akin to asking a first grader to solve the general theory of relativity. No, he should at least reach "high school" first, as in, proficient at all the basics, then, run up difficulty. I use Proc. Fairings myself, and I can tell you this much: unless he makes that payload way more rigid, its STILL gonna sway. Ive watched payloads sway during launch and peek out of the Proc Fairings. He needs a good combo of fairing AND stability in the payload.
  18. no. we are decidedly NOT at the top of the food chain. We are deluded into believing that we are the apex predators on this planet, when, we are in fact not. Take away our guns, our knives, and our weapons, we become weak. Take the predators on the African savanna. THEY need no extra weapons to kill. They are BORN predators. Take the sharks and other predators in the oceans, same with them. What nature BUILT INTO THEM is all THEY NEED. No, we are pretenders to that throne. NATURE is the apex predator, we are merely the children with a stick poking the hornets nest. THESE are top of the food chain. NOT us. any one of those above, can, and WILL kill us, HAVE killed us if and WHEN they desire.
  19. As Xavven said, Procedural Fairings and more struts are always a good thing good job btw on hitting a Circular orbit and lofting a space station so quickly! Might I also suggest a mod called MechJeb. It's a good tool and a capable teacher too!
  20. andrew123 your turns are 38.5m/s and 39.2m/s, so, I think zeke still holds the turn speed record....
  21. id suggest you launch a sandbox game, play around with it until .24 hits to get used to the ins and outs
  22. I feel the need to say a few things here. 1. Welcome! 2. I do recommend the continued use of MechJeb. Why you ask? Well, heres why: One, it can do what reading written tutorials and videos cannot. Fly YOUR space craft and show you how to do specific things, like transfers to moons/planets. Rendezvous and Dock with YOUR vessel, that YOU made <always better to see how YOUR stuff acts in these situations rather than something another player has made>. With that being said, it also provides valuable information on your vessel, TWR, DV, Orbital Information and the like. Yes KER can do that last part, but, in the scheme of things, you will find that automation along WITH that information is more useful, especially when you end up being FORCED to babysit a LONG burn on nuclear engines because you had no automation, because you chose to not use MJ. That or launching the same ship tens of dozens of times <base building, satellite networks and so on require identical launches, which get old doing it by hand each and every time. 3. Enjoy yourself in KSP, take breaks when you think you need to
  23. I gave up my experiment. Personal reasons, but, I know you can put at least 400 debris up if you set max persist debris high enough XD looking forward to see what yall nearly hit in the future
