  1. small note to anyone who keeps an eye on this thread aside from me: I am working on an unlimited persistent debris experiment launching to 150km orbit headed west. I have done 2 such launches, with 8x symmetry of radial decouplers at 14 stages worth of them. I HAD a third launch in progress about 10 min ago, but a stupid update reboot from my computer w/ 0 warned ended my night I am shooting for 10 such launches in total to see just how many i can get up in the debris column. game says 240 so far XD
  2. i was working on an experiment in a new sandbox to see if I could create kessler syndrom. I had already gotten 2 launches completed, with an 8 times symmetry radial decoupler setup with with 14 stages. I have 240 decouplers in a stable 150x150km orbit headed west. I WAS in the middle of my THIRD launch of the same type, mid gravity turn when guess what. the computer decided: HEY, lets RESTART AND INSTALL UPDATES AND NOT TELL THE MEATSACK RUNNIN ME! stupid computer.
  3. Wonder how long it would take if you had 10, 20 or 30 times the objects up there...
  4. Just wow eempc just wow! Im now wondering just how bad one can make it if you turn debris counts up to max...
  5. all thats bringing up is just the curse page....
  6. um... what exactly is that string of text?
  7. If it breaks craft files then we have a right to be worried. Some players, myself included, have ships that are highly complex that we use regularly for our stuff. Heck take this: that's my science station. The station itself was a single lifted item, fully built. I for one will be upset if my .craft break. Career dies oh well, so long as I can launch my stuff again I'm fine, but kill my crafts and I'm angry.
  8. Cpast it gives squad a general idea of what we are anticipating and our thoughts. Data is useful and our speculation provides data
  9. i think default persistent debris is like 250 <i think>
  10. retract the radiators, solar arrays and any other bits that are extended first off. Secondly, know where you plan to hit the atmosphere in regards to your orbit now, and prior to atmospheric interface <when you make contact with it> make sure the backside of the ship is facing the way your headed <in otherwords your ship needs to point retrograde> and just aim as deep as you think you need to be. best of luck
  11. i came in last year <been almost a year for me now, sometime late july makes 1 year> a day or two AFTER .21 hit. I cannot say if .21 broke .22 saves, but for me, no save has broken since my arrival, and honestly, I do not anticipate seeing it break now. Besides, how easy is it to alter the saves to adjust for currency and science points? easy XD so, no frets XD these polls are absolutely not pointless. they actually do give Squad a pulse on what we are thinking, so thats 1 use. second use: gives US the customers a chance to speculate in a usually friendly manner, so, thats 2 uses.
  12. The ARM parts are based off of NASA's SLS (Space Launch System) which, in reality, is going to be the worlds MOST POWERFUL ROCKET EVER BUILT. With that in mind, and this link here confirming what I just said, the ARM parts are if ANYTHING under powered. Heck, if you look at the bottom stage of the ARM variant of SLS, it is missing ONE engine, where the real deal has 5. SLS, now ARM rocket equiv: my point being is this: if anything, STOCK is underpowered compared to what NASA gave Squad to give us with 0.23.5. its apples to oranges honestly
  13. I have never once used B9, and I never intend to. My vote: B9 Stock: NO.
  14. I don't use part clipping very often myself. I've nothing against it, it's just my builds seldom need me to clip lol. I do see genuine value to it as it can make for prettier lines and more realistic ones too! Do what is fun for you!
  15. DISCLAIMER: Not back seat moderating, simply asking the below question: To me, this seems like a MOD question, so, um, whys it not in the mod section? I mean, I am just askin after all
  16. you did say this: which when read at face value, as you typed it, with one word: entirety, which implies its complete. NOW, I will give you, that, yes, 1 year ago, we did not have career mode or science, but, as with your statement of ENTIRETY, I must object and state it is not complete. Nitpicking aside, lets all sit back, and enjoy the ride and watch Jeb, Bill and Bob blow stuff up
  17. its for people who do the videos and the like. if they manage to draw players in, they receive a kick back from squad. but the post directly under my FIRST reply says it all
  18. which is quite nice fun WRONG WRONG WRONG. Career mode is NOT complete. Science is NOT complete. Proof? Why you give it a line later: More to career mode and science yet await us, seeing as contracts/budgets are coming. This game is in development and until such a time as SQUAD says it isnt: it isnt. Look, is this taking a slow walk to the finish? yes and no. Some games are in development for YEARS by big houses. Right now, for example, with Assassin's Creed Unity coming out later this year, they are already working on the next years release, the year AFTER and the next one AFTER THAT. Be patient, enjoy what we have, and be patient!
  19. i THINK that is the KSP Affiliates program. Theres an article about it somewhere lol. <points one post down hill> YUP! I knew it! YAY ME!
  20. I would wager they are intelligent enough to learn how to alter the file or learn how to. I think your undercutting the smarts of a hardcore player who so desires such modification to his or her game.
  21. Stevism if youre bored get some mods and expand the game! Take a break and play something else. Id wager you need some time off. And this advice marks post 1000 for me lol
  22. that upper most stage KINDA looks like my first ever rover:
  23. i for one would LOVE to see a bunch of new parts added, but, I will still make plenty of use of the OMS/Vernier stuff
