  1. I hated MJ for a long time, then I decided to give it a try. I found it is great for the information if nothing else. If you are using RO you kind of have to use MJ for the information because KER gets most of the altered engine cfgs wrong.
  2. If you need an aircraft or a few, I will tell you what mods I use and I can send you the craft files or just let you copy them. Like this little attack plane. A-5 Guinea Fowl Uses B9,Pwing,RF,AJE,D12Aerotech, Skillful, DRE, HullCam, Hyomoto (for the antenna on the top of the craft) and MJ for the information display. Several of those things can be taken off the craft and not affect the performance one bit. But you can also see how the CoL is setup behind the CoM, and that is the key to FAR.
  3. Camlost or NathenKell perhaps you two would be so kind as to do the RF+AJE cfg for these three engines which are very much like real life engines. Which is like the Soyuz R-79V-300 used on the Yak-141. RKBM RD-41 also from the Yak-141. Rolls-Royce F402-RR-408 from the AV-8B Harrier II. I have tried to figure all that stuff out but I admit that is over my head.
  4. LOL Making planes in FAR is easy. Just look at a REAL plane and mimic it. Flying bricks in stock KSP just don't cut it anymore. And it wouldn't be "Realism War Game" if it didn't have some aspect of reality in it would it?
  5. Downloaded your craft, and tested it. It wont survive 6Gs, and has REALLY short range. I mean minutes at best. Your craft was not built in RO. But it is a nice craft, with modifications it could be a great craft.
  6. 1- Struts. All I have to say. And pay attention to your speed and the air pressure. If you are pushing over 40kpa of air pressure you are looking at 40+ times the air pressure at ground level in game. So do the math, 40X your current wing load = Wings go POP! So strut your wings, stock game lolrphysics don't work in FAR. And slow down your turns to a realistic level, no more turning on a dime and pulling 14Gs in a turn.

  8. Are you running DRE-C because 42gs will kill the crew. 42g's will kill almost anything living.
  9. Do you mean the craft crashes or the computer crashes? And it doesn't matter how much RAM you computer has, just the amount of RAM that KSP is using. KSP is a 32bit game, which means it is capped around 3.2-3.4GB of RAM use.

  12. Uh.... Not sure why you posted the crafts cfg file but ok.... I think you meant to post the .craft file which you would have to use a file sharing site for, like dropbox. And post a pic of it, that will help.

  16. So reading back a few pages, about the wing fuel tanks, or adding fuel to the wings. I am looking to find out how to do this and how does it work in RO?
  17. Do you have more than one DYJLibrary.dll file? If so delete the extra ones. I found that the GAU-19 gun was causing my problems with P-wings and it was because of multiple DYJLibrary.dll files.
  18. While this is a pain even in the basic KSP it is a price you pay. I am considering a SSTO vertical launch and lander like the Grasshopper project. But the fuel use on landing is just stupid and the need for a throttlable rocket engine only adds to the problem.
  19. I am working on one and I am SOOO close, I figure with my play time and rate of research, I should have one working that isn't a Skylon by the end of the month. Right now I am testing hypersonic aircraft and their fuel use at altitude. I am attempting to do the Venture Star design and setup. So far I am getting to space with the setup and launch profile but unable to circularize. Working on increasing the size of the craft is the only thing I think I can do at this point.
  20. I have tried the fuel in the wings yet, is there a plugin for that, and does it work in FAR+RO? And I haven't had that problem of my gun comming off at speed. And 15Gs in DRE is suicide for most pilots. You can see where the guns are mounted on this fighter and they stay VERY much in place.
  21. There are reasons why that aircraft is that size range is one. It can fly on internal fuel from the base in Africa to northern France non-stop all while at super cruise speeds. The wings on mine stay on at up to 10.5Gs as long as you are not at some stupid dynamic pressure of over 60kpa. And this is my heavy fighter.. I have built a much smaller light weight fighter that is slower but more agile with less range. And I am sure my fighter can go faster but I wont push it to the engine explosion speeds. Some of tricks I have learned is to set your max engine power to less if your craft is overspeeding and burning up your engine. The other thing is to make sure you are high enough this is not an issue. And I have yet to have an issue with the DEFA 30mm comming off of any of my craft. Where are you mounting yours?
  22. Not talking about stopping, but increasing your lift while slowing down... thus flaps. I can land my Mach2+ fighter with flaps at around 170mph, which is almost 80mph slower then the take off speed due to flap settings.
  23. Not just modders, but SQUAD. I have had this happen before, it was a rocket though and it was QUITE annoying to say the least.
  24. As a FAR user and one who doesn't understand how you can not use FAR. I will say my reasons for suggesting it are simple. Aerodynamics mean something in FAR, planes work like uh.... planes. And it fixes many of the exploits like the "Krakken Drive".
