I've never used a "stage recovery mod", but I design my ships with 2 stages (works for ships out as far as Duna so far); the launch to orbit stage and the "everything else" stage. Each has enough chutes to allow a slow enough descent for an intact recovery after return. The launch to orbit stage requires an RGU pod and power (I add a battery and some solar panels). Usually I need some SRBs to maintain either the proper TWR or dV, but those I do not recover but rather they get jettisoned. They are mostly fuel anyway and so the cost is minimal in comparison to the entire mission cost. After achieving orbit from launch, I separate the stages, save and then select the launch stage from the control center. Its then a simple matter of deorbiting and recovering the spent stage. Upon return and reentry of the payload stage, its a similar process for recovery. I find that my budget for any one mission tends to be about 10% of my available funds; sometimes 20%.

The Portal series. Edit: also the Myst series.

If I were a console player, I'd be all over this game. Its simply a playing preference. Judging by the guys in the videos, they seem to like the game for the most part.

My color vision has tended to be good, but my choice of color descriptions is not always ... refined. To follow up on Cpt. Kipard's color wheel chart, I'll try naming the colors for your reference. Starting at 12 o'clock and going clockwise: red, orange, light orange, gold, yellow, light green, green, light blue, blue, dark blue, purple, violet. You can even find interactive color wheels online. Some are fun to experiment with; I think they would be interesting even in greyscale. Good luck!

I don't even have a console; I'm a hold out for the possible future release of the game for a home computer. The video is definitely others. I do like the idea of co-operative gameplay (which, depending on the game mode, is not the usual team play in games).

Spoiler alert: if you don't want spoilers of Destiny, do not use the link: Yep.

Mexican cuisine.

While Half Life might not qualify, all of Half Life 2 is in a post-invasion setting. The game is available on Steam, for example.

While I've not taken the time to find sources, I've heard in the past that the FES is more of a social thing, rather than a facet of a belief system.

Having perused the links you supplied, I strongly suspect two things. First, that a significant percentage of "Americans" (this does not distinguish between North, Central or South Americans; let alone whether or not the polls occurred in preschools or at Universities) have a wry sense of humor. Second, if Gallop or other study pollers deign to ask such stupid questions of "Americans" or anyone else, the polling entity deserves all of the tripe responses it obtains. Whatever the percentage of respondents (regarding the sourceless bit about the Big Bang), everyone I've conversed with on the subject of science is indeed aware of the concept of a Big Bang. The same things apply to the statement about "cloud computing". Common sense (which I believe is a real attribute possessed by most people I associate with) would dictate that far fewer people (especially adults) really think that cloud computing involves real clouds. It may be that some people think that such is related to meteorological computations in the context of clouds and other weather phenomena. My advice for all on such discussions is; relax.

What is your Least Favourite Movie/TV Show/Game?
Dispatcher replied to ShadowMasterZ's topic in The Lounge
I can agree with you on this. In the right producer/ director's hands, it could have been an epic, or at least classic movie. Makes me wonder if the Heinlein trust will ever let someone else do an adaptation of another of Robert's novels. -
"Strange Aeons" "Bagged Again" "Big Time" If you've played this game, what did you think of it?
-
You are the first! As the OP indicates, if anyone here has played co-operative MineCraft, they are encouraged to share their experiences here. As to these videos, the players have particular goals in mind.

From Earth to Mars to Deimos to actually Building the Marathon: with some Marathon Music later.

What is your Least Favourite Movie/TV Show/Game?

There are so many bad ones to choose from, but this might come close: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kNDbZ9km7E -
Some choices I agree with above. One of mine is "The Man From U.N.C.L.E."

Booster testing confusion please help
Dispatcher replied to bonyetty's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
For test engines, you don't even need fuel; they will activate anyway and the test will be valid. -

Nice to see. Perhaps other Scout organizations in various countries will get the word out about KSP.

Test Parts
Dispatcher replied to Commander Jebidiah's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
At first I was doing every contract, but some of the test contracts are more irritation than fun to me. Now I just do those I want and avoid the rest. I've passed up dozens of test contracts and skipped to things I've not done before; like rescuing stranded Kerbals. Its nice to be able to choose, instead of being obliged to complete one thing before completing another. -
3 Radial 55s mounted on a craft in the VAB have a combined thrust which falls between those of a single Skipper and a Poodle. The 55s, like the RAPIER, have the highest vectoring range (3). The mass of the 3 Radial 55s is 2.7 tons, which also falls between a Skipper and a Poodle. Unlike these, the Radial 55s do not generate an electric charge. The TWR of 3 Radial 55s also falls between those of a Skipper and a Poodle. 3 Radial 55s can lift over half the mass that a Skipper can lift from Kerbin (and half again as much as the Poodle can lift). The efficiency of 3 Radial 55s is ... between one each of these same engines. The cost of 3 Radial 55s falls between, you guessed it, a Skipper and a Poodle. An advantage of 3 or more Radial 55s is that they can be used as landing legs too. If I'd have to choose between engines, I'd take some Radial 55s over the Poodle, when possible. Its also true that I prefer the Skipper over these other two engines, most of the time.
