The Precambrian was the coolest ... because it contained the Cryogenian! Yep, Snowball Earth!

Well, I tend to like sites that don't require me to sign in prior to me listening, iTunes is an exception. I will listen to almost every kind of music genre and I like variety. My mood guides my preferences of the moment. I've shared the playlist on this site before, but it remains fitting since its music performed (not written) by a real space scientist. http://www.themarathonmusic.com Just use the player!

Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.2 is now live!
Dispatcher commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
Simply due to this being the 1.1.2 release thread, I have a similar problem with graphics, but NOT with the overall view quality. In my case I'm using an iMac (not a Macbook) and the only issue with graphics is in the VAB and SPH and is limited to the floor stripes. Instead of solid nonmoving lines, there are a lot of pixel clusters which seem to follow or flicker where the lines are to be drawn, similar in appearance to your posted images. These started in 1.1.1. Never had these in 1.0.5. I'm sure Squad will resolve this. Just wanted to share that graphics issues are not limited to MacBooks. Again, the rest of the game (gameplay outside of editors) looks good. Edit: I am playing with the ground crew animations off and am in windowed mode. For more details of setup, see post in thread of unmodded support, re: v. 1.1.1. -
Need some advice getting back from LKO...

Less on topic: I would love to see the Marathon in the Kerbol system. While I've never played Minecraft, these guys used it to eventually "build the Marathon" in Mars' orbit: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIof4Cp3-cakENfeGfWc8qALxAfxQ7K-i Skip to where they have reached Mars. They also have co-op play throughs of the Marathon series and a few 3rd party scenarios. More at topic: I agree about mods. I only use what I think should be stock (KER and my own parts). But KSP is all about finding one's own way into space and back, and that includes mods for some. Also, I try to have a variety of tools for deorbiting: spare fuel/ oxidizer, monopropellant thrusters and also reaction wheels to help orient the craft without using up all the propellants.- 27 replies

I'm coming into some money soon. What should I get?
Dispatcher replied to kenbobo's topic in The Lounge
My iMac is mid 2007. I play all kinds of games on it (inc. KSP [at least 1.0.5 didn't lock up in the VAB]). As for the OP and money; invest it in penny stocks. You'll either loose it all or make a lot of money. -

Slightly off topic: I like your icon (yay Marathon series!). Back on topic: I too try to keep my Kerbals (and hardware) relatively safe. Sometimes the extra mass of a chute or two is well worth the cost.- 27 replies

Kind of like the Unreal franchise (and to a lesser degree other games, inc. the Marathon series and other games which made their editors available).
-
Uh, Eve Online? (OK, more like space battles and trading).
-
Flew stock ships in 1.1.1 until the game locked up again (while in the SPH). Since I have 1.1.1, I'm waiting for KER to be updated, as well as for the next patch (and the next KER update after that).

What feature could you not live without?
Dispatcher replied to theradRusssian's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Apparently I can't do without ... bugs in 1.1.1. OK, back on topic. I spend most of my time in KSP between the VAB or SPH and flight testing. -
I updated via Steam to 1.1.1 and still have issues per my posts in this thread: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/index.php?/topic/137483-constant-crashing/&page=2#comment-2547587

Constant crashing
Dispatcher replied to TampaPowers's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
I concur with this. After loading Stock vehicles in the VAB and the SPH and flying them in Sandbox mode (and reverting after flights), KSP locked up after about a half hour, in the SPH, when I pressed the New button. Never even tried building using any parts. I had to force quit the game. Latest OS X (El Capitan), NO mods installed (not even KER). Graphics settings at 50% or less. Playing in windowed mode. 4 GB RAM. iMac 20" mid 2007, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB. Never had these issues in 1.05 but had them in 1.1 and now 1.1.1 (Steam is on, along with Libre Office and Calculator). Edit: I get these results even when I have turned off the VAB Kerbal animations. -
Constant crashing
Dispatcher replied to TampaPowers's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
This happens to me also. The game locks up only in the VAB (and I presume would also occur in the SPH). I play "new" and saved games (1.1) in Sandbox mode and I have to force quit when it locks up. It does not lock up when I am actually playing the game (being outside of the VAB). I am using a 9 year old iMac with the latest/ current OS X (El Capitan). Due to its limited graphics capacity, I am running stock settings, except that any settings over 50% I have capped at 50% or less. I also have Steam, Open Office Calc (spreadsheet) and the Calculator open. This did not happen prior to the 1.1 update. My Mac has a whopping 4 GB of RAM. The lock up has occurred both without any mods and also with the latest/ current version of KER. This is the only mod I use. Again, no troubles prior to the 1.1 update. Thanks. Edit: I always play in windowed mode rather than full screen due to my use of the above mentioned applications. -

I'm glad I start new games with each update. Sounds like several people here have invested a lot of time and effort into (what are now) earlier versions of the game; with varying results. Good luck to those who are continuing their previous saved games.

First they need to install space fire hydrants and trees. Afterwards the dog will be OK. (Oh, and the problem with cats is that the litter box is much messier in null gee.)

Any sprite animators or artists watch these videos? Comment on the You Tube page about your impressions about the high res textures; especially if you've done the same kind of art. I'll bet Narcogen wouldn't mind. As for 3D models, those don't appear in the Myth franchise until number 3. This episode is Forest Heart:

April 12 is 55th anniversary of first man in orbit
Dispatcher replied to Newpossum's topic in The Lounge
He was a pioneer for sure. A lot of people made it possible for Yuri to fly into space, but he's the one that took the ride into the relative unknown. -
