I can suspend disbelief about the show, and have for years, I am just bothered that the writers couldn't bother to spend 20 seconds looking up ballpark estimations of what they are saying. Most episodes have a few inconsistencies and obvious inaccuracies that I can live with, but the ones in this episode just jumped out at me so much I couldn't allow myself to be entertained. These aspects are more egregious to me than the magic phone box because they at least semi-competently hand-wave it; the TARDIS is an initial premise of the show, if they brought it in randomly in an episode 3 seasons in as a deus ex machina, then I'd be bothered. If shows have an internal logic different from our world, fine, but abandoning what logic they have with reality for little reason is bothersome. As for why I stopped watching halfway through the episode, I was generally unsatisfied with the Moffat tenure and this episode was the last straw for Capaldi. I stopped watching by the end of Smith, and I wasn't a big fan of this season either. I was probably influenced by my disappointment to get this upset, I admit, but that disappointment, along with the show's ridiculousness, is what made me stop watching.

The main reason we don't seen Munar eclipses more often is that half the time we are behind Kerbin when the eclipse is happening, or because we aren't looking. If you want to see some more, they should be visible above KSC once every 2-3 months (Mun orbits). Now, a tiny cyan pixel moving slowly across Kerbol, that I'd like to see.

I know not to expect much from a TV show, but if anybody else has seen the Doctor Who episode about the Moon, from around 3 weeks ago, they would know what I mean. For chrissakes, the Moon was described as being only 100 million years old, and apparently, adding 1.3 billion tons of mass to it would make its gravity equal to earth. Quick Googling shows that the Moon is estimated to be 4-4.5 billion years old, and its mass is 81 quintillion tons (I may be off by an order of magnitude or two). I know there were other horrible mistakes, some of which I missed because I stopped watching halfway through, and one about biology that I forgot. Is it too much to expect of a sci-fi show to at least Google stats so their numbers would at least approach reality, or has the show degenerated to not even be in that vague genre anymore? I don't care if I'm being petulant or picky, but c'mon, at least put some effort into the general area of science that the episode is based off of. It isn't like they are putting much effort into anything else at this point.

Landing on Minmus, Eve or Duna is easier than on Mun?
NFUN replied to PatPL's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't know, I always seem to end up with a trajectory that gets me captured by Jool. -
Jeb can't wait for the space program; he's got his own crap to do! This happens more than he'd like to admit...

Wow, 3 spooky 5 me, Stratzen

KSP first? Reddit user CuriousMetaphor's EVE return, squared.
NFUN replied to Majorjim!'s topic in KSP1 Discussion
I expect we will be expecting your Eve2 submission shortly? That is not to say criticism requires experience, but at least give feats you consider more impressive to serve as contrast, or you risk sounding arrogant and belittling. -
SARUMAN KILLS MUAD'DIB! Use a '/' instead of a '\': TEXT[\spoiler] Yarr!

Are you unconsciously telling us what changes were made...?

That's right Jodo. After all, descent is the highest form of patriotic. I've noticed that at least one comment has been deleted (I love how in many forums deleted comments are still visible in quotes), maybe you (and us too, probably) should cool down a bit. At least now I know that deleted comments don't count towards post count.

Flight Plan for the Stock Learjet shuttle thingy
NFUN replied to TheWanderer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I don't have a flight plan because the craft was most likely purposely made not to have a flight plan. The devs probably fine-tuned the ship so that it has some fatal flaws like that one. I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to redesign it slightly si that it works much better. -
According to that rule, so long as your criticism is constructive (ie not just flaming) it shouldn't be banned. I don't know what your original post was, but if you didn't just say "fk teh devs, tey suk eaboddiafsmagfyomgwtfbbq" or something along those lines, then the warnings you received appear to be unjustified. Also, the rule about not disclosing private messages doesn't only apply to conversations with moderators; the rule seems fair and reasonable. After more reading of rules, it seems they might have meant to say Rule 3.4? I don't know, but if you are already on their bad side, this thread might not end well for you according to that rule. I haven't heard of any abuse from moderators besides this though, so maybe you are blowing it out of proportion.

Thor would not approve of this.

Flight Plan for the Stock Learjet shuttle thingy
NFUN replied to TheWanderer's topic in KSP1 Discussion
The stock ships aren't meant to be good or usable, they are meant to be used as models of how to build a ship. The only reason the Kerbal X can go to the Mun and back because it was inadvertently buffed in an update. -
I don't think there was a hint to take...

When a rocket starts tipping over in one direction when it was built perfectly symmetrical.

Uhhhh....did somebody just steal my computer? I think that is exactly what I bought! It runs Kerbal pretty well at max graphics. As for online games, LoL runs great at max, as does Starcraft 2, DoTa, CiV, Garry's Mod, Minecraft, PAYDAY 2,etc. Just make sure you have a good internet connection. DISCLAIMER: I do not endorse the use of every game I listed, these are just games that at some point have been run on the computer, by myself or another party.

For pi day, assuming you have learned the Unit Circle, bring in a whole pie, but claim you have two pi. Easy extra credit.
-
Holy crap. I've seen players specialize before, but not to this extent, and with gear bays no less. Head down to the Spacecraft Exchange so more people may view your genius.
-
It was already closed up. Recovering Kerbals no longer gives rep.
-
Haven't you watched the early-90's safety video? No eating in chemistry! I'm referring to the one with the perv watching somebody shower, if anybody has seen it and remembers.
-
Do you know what happens if you have a mol of moles?
-
That seemed to have fixed it, thanks!

In my somewhat heavily modded KSP, I will crash every few flights. In the middle of a session, I looked in Task Manager and saw that the RAM usage for the game was slowly creeping up, even though I am just idling in the VAB. Is this a known bug with any mods, or has anybody else noticed this in their game? I am using OpenGL and Active Texture Management.
