*obligatory petty screaming at modders for not giving out the links few minutes after the update* -
what was the lowest Dv margin you haved for a flight?
lajoswinkler replied to omelaw's topic in KSP1 Discussion
0.1-0.2 m/s or even dry, with fumes in the monopropellant tank and Kerbals' jetpacks. Jeb pushing the capsule to dock with his last units of gas. Horrible stories. LOL -
Every few seconds, everything freezes for like less than 0.5 seconds. No mods, plenty of RAM and computing power. It happens regardless of the stuff currently on the screen. Even in the map view. I was looking at the performance graph (alt+F12) and each time it does that, the graph spikes up. This is all I've got. *shrug*

Now that the game simulates reentry damage, as well as Kerbal/parts high G problems, what does DRE exactly manage?

You're forgetting something. Ionizing radiation. I don't know its intensities but it's safe to assume they're serious even though the main rings aren't inside the main ionizing radiation belts. Note that Cassini never directly probed the environment inside the D ring, but has discovered there is a belt there, too. (This graph shows the energetic ion and electron data from the Saturn orbit insertion interval on June 30 and July 1, 2004. Ion intensity is shown above the horizontal divider as energy increasing upward. Electron intensity is shown below the horizontal divider as energy increasing downward, as measured by the magnetospheric imaging instrument's low energy magnetospheric measurement system sensor onboard the Cassini spacecraft. Red indicates high particle intensity, blue is low intensity. The vertical energy scales run from 30 kilo-electron volts to several mega-electron volts. Time runs from left to right, with approximately 36 hours of data shown, covering a distance range from Saturn's center between 783,000 kilometers (487,000 miles) at either end, down to about 78,000 (49,000 miles) at closest approach. The region above the rings was found to be devoid of ions and electrons; the region inside the D-ring inner edge was not directly sampled and absent the magnetospheric imaging instrument ion and neutral camera remote sensing would have been assumed empty of energetic particles.) Reaching them and then stopping there would be incredibly difficult and it's a pretty good bet ionizing environment is absolutely lethal unless you're in a bulky lead suit because all those electrons smashing into you (attenuated enough by metal only) would produce serious bremsstrahlung x-rays.

I'm afraid a community is judged by its average values, not by its extremes.
-
Yes, quantity, as usual, determines quality. How foolish of me.
-
So it leaked? I'm still annoyed. Can't help myself.

It's sad how KSP is being left by great contributors (or perhaps they left because they were collectively annoyed by the corporate greed?) when it's still half baked. There are so many things this game lacks both in visuals and content. Let me just add that I'm disgusted and annoyed by the fact this was announced on Reddit first. Reddit, the idea-bashing pile of bloated trolls. This forum is the core of your community, Squad. Not Reddit, not YouTube, not 4chan or CNN. The forum. It has the best collection of great people, namely modders, who are actually the ones that kept this game going on, and your actions are continuously mocking this place. Rant over.

Not yet. They will detach when the ship establishes orbit around each body. Just this one. It's special, after all. I've just noticed it few days ago, that's it... no idea what happened.

It's safer here.

Working on Plock's surface has proven to be a hazardous job for Kerbals. It's so cold there that their enviromental suits need to work overtime to compensate. Their battery packs last for like ten minutes or so, and then life support fails so they have to return to the lander fast. Here is Bill Kerman, the engineer, setting up a gravity experiment. He looks happy, but his bum is freezing. Meanwhile, Jebediah is in the lander where it's warm, supervisioning the works. EVA couldn't have gone without an argument. Bill (left) is not amused by Bob pooping on engineering. To avoid Bill screwing something into his helmet, Bob went to examine a boulder closest to the landing site. It seems close, but 177 m is kind of troublesome when gravity pulls strong enough to make jetpacks unusable and still weak enough to keep Kerbals from properly walking and preventing them from running. The rock was named Sylvester (by @ZedNova). First rock my Kerbals have ever climbed on. You can see the south pole in the background. After performing the experiments, the crew packed their stuff and launched into orbit. Climbing on the south pole was out of the question because of the distance and useless jetpacks. Rendezvous with Kron was without issues. South pole experiment results: - surface is warmer than layers underneath - Plock has no local magnetic field near south pole - atmosphere is tenuous, in traces - regolith contains hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen and trace amounts of carbon - regolith is dominantly solid water with some silicates

KSP's popularity is not nearly high as it should be to create a critical mass needed for a public outcry to occur. It's also not a similar case because, n comparison to NMS's expectations, KSP's are way better realized. Also the community behind KSP is way better. What I'm saying is not elitistic. It's simply realistic. A game which is more of a simulator than most other games out there (and one hell of a simulator) attracts, on average, a different kind of people. Not niche narrow, but it sure isn't wide as peasant games.

The roots of civilization are in Africa. Mesopotamian area is just one of the nodes that caught up later in the process.

Is there something like CKAN, but for Minecraft?

Maybe MultiMC? It's kind of close to it... -
Right before EVA, an external seismic probe has been released from Knugen. After that, Jebediah Kerman emerged from the hatch into the darkness. He placed a flag into the icy surface and named the site Kron 6a. The crew will now begin with building a temporary sensor array station.
-
The probes will land on Beros and Kyx. Kron 6 is above Plock and I don't want to lose precious fuel on reaching their targets. The ship will carry them to each destination.
-
The first site to be visited was chosen to be Plock's southern pole, namely because the lander is, on the sunlit side, travelling from north to south. Not being familiar with Plock's gravity pull, I wanted to be able to see my heading at the first landing ever on that dwarf planet. Valentina Kerman stayed on Kron 6 with Kerty while Jeb, Bill and Bob went into the Knugen lander. After deploying the legs, engine was fired to slow the lander down on a trajectory over the southern pole. Satellite Karen was looming over the horizon as the lander performed a controlled descent. After few minutes, the lander is above the pole. Immediately, distorsions are noticed and Jebediah decides to steer away and land on a more calm ground. This frozen world is very dark by itself, not to mention the conditions here. Final descent was a bit above 2 m/s. Knugen just sat into the regolith. "This is Kron 6 landing party. Knugen has landed."
-
Small update. Bill Kerman performed his first EVA at Plock and has checked and repaired all the stuff that had issues during the flight. Kron 6 is in full working order now. Here he is, exiting the airlock lit by weak Plock shine. Also, the greenhouse has been closed and deactivated as there's plenty of food onboard.

What the hell is wrong with the people asking questions? Random trolls or true nutters?
