This is my first screenshot From my third mun landing (notice the speed) Jeb and Bob where already stranded on the surface Unfortunately when I did attempt to land I ran out of fuel above the surface and so Bill had to jump out. He bounced and somehow survived (in my excitement I crashed him into the surface 5 minutes later and killed him)

  6. I absolutely love the drifter ship. What sort of thrust to weight ratio are you getting on it with the ion engines?

  10. I have finally finished my hovercraft. It floats on a cushion of wheels which act as a low friction surface so it can slide around It is capable of small jumps and comes with an afterburning engine. The afterburner is used to help get up to speed and quickly change direction Warning: using the afterburner whilst taking a jump my result in large explosions When going over obstacles try and keeps facing forward otherwise you may flip over.   11. Thanks. It works in the most recent version 1.1.2. Weirdly it only works with the 1.1 updates.
  12. Its nice to see someone else using this method. It looks really good. How stable is yours? Often when going over jumps mine looses a wheel. (it has about 30 of them so it has lots of redundancy)
  13. I think this looks a bit more like a hovercraft. (it even works in the water)
  14. I found that by using upturned wheels it is possible to make something that handles like a hovercraft. If you put enough of the wheels together you could make them look like the skirt of a hovercraft.
  15. Looks good, does it work in version 1.1? If so how did you get round the wheels clipping into each other?
  16. I am also having a similar issue but only with the cockpits. If I mouse over some of them in flight whilst viewing from a certain angle the flag goes semi transparent. In the SPH when viewing from certain angles (usually with the mouse hovering over the cockpit) the flag again goes semi transparent. I am running windows 8.1 with an i7 processor, 12gb of ram and an Nvidia gtx 850m graphics card. Thanks for the update.

Going from the numbers from the map you have the right idea but for the intercept Kerbin you can save a huge amount of Delta V by aerobraking around kerbin (i.e. using the atmosphere to slow down) @Tatonf has used the updated numbers and has accounted for aerobraking. If you want an updated map in a similar style I made one a couple of weeks ago.
  18. I have been working on a small jet powered buggy I hope it survives the 1.1 wheel update. It has spider engine suspension so it can manage some small bumps without being destroyed. I am not sure if the front looks right or not.
  19. Thanks, I think the only way to make a map like that would be separate ones starting from each body. Out of interest was that an approximation from your experience or did you calculate it? There are some quite large DV margins built in so pilots who aren't very good (like me) should be able to make it.
