  1. "It is gray in appearance with craters of various sizes and mountains exceeding 5029 m in height." "The Mun's highest points reach a maximum altitude of more than 7061 m near the south pole at 152.33° W and 82.52° S." "Highest elevation--7061.1416 m" (This is right from the Kerbal Space Program wiki.)
  2. Aircraft carrier Able to take off a VTOL or even a normal plane off of its deck and able to land a VTOL or a normal plane (Drogue chute?) on it. You should also make a small ramp on the end of the carrier so it would get a slight lift so it doesn't crash into the ocean
  3. Also if you're looking for a small rover here's my micro rover -Carries 2 Kerbals -Has a probe(torque) and a landing leg to right side it if it flips over. -Lights -Climbs angles up to 30+ degrees -Multiple batteries -2 RTG's and multiple solar panels Here it is on Eeloo (It works best on the Mun) P.S turn the probe torque off when driving. http://www./view/w3v3ey2pdu33bgk/IZON_rover_4.craft
  4. I do mine like yours but this is a 60 ton(with cargo) lander with a 8 ton cargo(Not yet tested for heavier objects). I have the legs spread to allow access to wide wheeled rovers and big payloads.
  5. First, open the Debug menu (Alt+F12) and select allow clipping in editor. Get a Mk.1 Command Pod Get another Mk.1 Command Pod Put it inside the other one and rotate it with (Q and E) Bam! Gemini style command pod!
  6. Yea that might of been my MMU Hercules Mk.7 I posted a while ago. Chrischambers has actually put it on the station. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/50133-Manned-Maneuvering-Unit-%28MMU%29
  7. May I be on this list because I built and came up with the idea of the Manned Maneuvering Unit(MMU). I mean if you don't mind....
  8. A hitchhiker crew canister, more fuel/RCS, more solar panels/batteries/RTGs, an engine for correction burns.
  9. I made like 6 models of that a long time ago and some of it used jet engines, solid rocket boosters, aerospikes. They all landed on skids and had limited fuel
  10. I got a 60ton cargo craft to a Minmus orbit and I landed it. The whole rocket weighs 700tons at lift off and the lander can carry RCS, Fuel, 3 kerbals (more if you modify it), and a 8 ton cargo. -I did use mechjeb Rocket/liftoff: Cruising stage(to Minmus): Orbiting Minmus: Landing: Landed: Releasing 8t cargo load: If you want the download link, tell me and I'll put it up
  11. Multiple options for an efficient launch 1. Use multiple launches carrying multiple parts of the lander and land it on Minmus and assemble it there. 2. Use multiple launches carrying multiple parts of the lander and dock it in orbit and send it to Minmus. 3. Use a big launch stages (like the rocket I posted), and make it able to get the lander into a 100km Kerbin orbit with just the launch stage. 4. Use mech jeb
  12. I did it within an hour of, designing, flying, and landing this this thing with a 8 ton cargo. The whole rocket weighs 700tons at lift off and the lander can carry RCS, Fuel, 3 kerbals (more if you modify it), tested 8 ton cargo hold/rover lander. To dock the rover to the docking port, de-extend the landing legs. -I did use mechjeb Rocket/liftoff: Cruising stage(to Minmus): Orbiting Minmus: Landing: Landed: Releasing 8t cargo load: If you want the download link, tell me and I'll put it up
  13. So a while back on the Spacecraft Exchange page, I posted a thread about a small jetpack using RCS, like the ones they use on the space station. It was made for extending kerbal capabilities (roll control) and a longer distances that can be achieved. I didn't really think it would get that much attention but it got about 41 comments saying "this was a fantastic idea, awesome, this is so cool!" But this jet pack is big, bulky, and carries only 80 units of RCS fuel. SO MY CHALLENGE IS FOR YOU GUYS TO MAKE THIS CRAFT SIMPLER, MORE COMPACT, MAKING IT LIGHTER, AND BETTER(more fuel, longer range, better maneuverability). The craft file is down below in case you guys want to download it and mess around from it there, or you can make your own. You can use mods It contains: -1 Radioisotope Thermometric Generator (RTG) -2 Stratus-V Roundified Monopropellant Tank (Round RCS tanks carrying 40 units of monopropellant each) ... 80 units of monopropellant total -1 Probodobodyne OKTO -4 Place Anywhere 7 Linear RCS Ports -2 RV-105 RCS Thruster Block -1 Clamp-O-Tron Jr. -1 EAS-1 External Command Seat -1 Cubic Octagonal Strut -1 Modular Girder Segment Craft file: http://www./download/jt...ack_MK_7.craft BEST DESIGNS: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 14. A more compact rover that houses 2 kerbals, can right itself, can climb steep angles, RTG/solar powered with 3 Z-300 batteries and 1 Z-100 battery, and completed with headlights. (turn torque off on the probe{on the underside of the rover} when traveling) craft file:http://www./view/w3v3ey2pdu33bgk/IZON_rover_4.craft Can climb angles over 30 degrees: If flipped it has its probe torque and landing leg to right side itself: Eeloo: performs nicely. (works best on the Mun)

  16. I'm keeping the description brief, try it out for your self! I tried to go for an Apollo themed rover. -It has a landing leg on top to flip the rover in case the rover flips over -2 seats -headlights -2 radioisotope thermonuclear generators (RTGs) -4 basic solar panels -3 Z-400 batteries(radial mounted big batteries) -1 Z-100 battery(radial mounted small battery -1 probe -22 parts I recommend when driving, to disable torque on the probe(on the bottom of the rover) and disable the motors for the front wheels. And if you flip over, turn on torque and use the landing leg to try to right side it. Craft file:http://www./view/w3v3ey2pdu33bgk/IZON_rover_4.craft Capable of climbing steep angles In case of a roll-over, It uses it's torque and landing leg to right side itself. Finally made it to Eeloo, perform nicely. Rolling through the night.
