  1. 2/10 Who are you To answer the question, I'm Woopert. Been around since October but bought KSP January 2013. Sorry about the side conversation, no more
  2. 10/10 Known for Pico Space Program and Zepto Labs.
  3. Back when I was a total KSP noob I took the Kerbal X to the Mun and on other missions to Minmus as well. Those were one-way trips, compared to the safe and reliable Kerbal space program I run now Those were also back in 0.18 and possibly 0.19 IIRC. I'll get to this again on another save and will get around to rescuing them as well
  4. KW Rocketry, B9 Aerospace, and some science mod would surely get close to replacing the stock set of parts. Although you will need various other parts e.g. solar panels, RTGs, and batteries, etc. But in KSP, there's pretty much a mod for anything and everything out there.
  5. I don't know the specifics but I'm pretty sure his brother didn't die; a quick Google search seemed to disprove that. Also, I went to Splashy Fish on the iTunes page and it says it is by Massimo Guareschi. The creator of Flappy Bird is Dong Nguyen. I don't get the big deal, I see on sites saying thing like "The game has received criticism for being too simple and too difficult." It's a game for a phone lol. I'm not mad at anyone here, I just think it's silly how big of a deal people make of the game I play the game myself
  6. Hi Majorjim, Would you be okay if I feature this in a YouTube video? The video is focused on the spacecraft and is sort of cinematic (my editing skillls are adequate at best ). I added some nice Kevin MacLeod music to go with it. At the beginning it shows your name "Majorjim" and there will be a link in the description to this thread.
  7. Honestly I'm not sure. I do know that the landing gear used for that flight test back in October were not the final design and were modified from some fighter jet plane. Only benefit I can come up with for a skid is increased drag? I'm no expert. I'm sure they know what they're doing FYI Majorjim, just completed the first mission (it's late at night here though at the time of this post). RCS might be a problem for some but wasn't for my needs (had half left when done). Successfully landed at the runway which is oh so satisfying! Brilliant design, gotta keep saying it. Tis was my first runway landing with stock KSP parts, even though it's your design.
  8. Just noticed it was said, but on the KSP Tumblr this is featured on Modding Mondays! Hopefully it's posted to the forums soon! http://kerbaldevteam.tumblr.com/
  9. Looking good! Keep up the good work and can't wait to see it fully finished! Here's some rep for motivation EDIT: Already gave some, gonna have to wait until it allows it again sorry
  10. Space Stations are used mostly for roleplay or for refueling. For intercept Muns and Planets, you need to align the phase angles and inclination. For interplanetary make sure the planets are properfly aligned. Check out this guide http://ksp.olex.biz/ Also for future reference http://alterbaron.github.io/ksp_aerocalc/ Good luck!
  11. I'm no expert, but I assume it's because the front needs to be aerodynamic since it cuts through the air the most. That leaves a docking port on top as the only other option, which the Dream Chaser doesn't have much room for. It also doubles as the crew hatch on the Dream Chaser, though.
  12. Glorious! The Dream Chaser is the favorite of mine when compared to the DragonRider and CST-100... awesome to see it in KSP. Also good that more people have been making them recently in KSP. I'll start testing this and will report back soon! Would you mind posting your variant? I'd love to see more Dream Chasers
  13. Nice engineering there! The whole thing is spectacular. I'm all for clipping control surfaces if it's something that should work in the game but can't due to KSP physics limitations. I.e., totally necessary for a lifting body (unless you have FAR).
  14. Good to hear and can't wait to try it out! Are there hidden control surfaces on the inside to make it controllable in atmosphere? I still can't get over how perfect it is.
  15. Added some more videos (haven't updated the thread yet) Bump
  16. Somehow managed to get a Geostationary satellite hovering over KSC.
  17. Somehow managed to get a Geostationary satellite hovering over KSC.
  18. Amazing job on that! You might know by now how big a fan I am of the Dream Chaser... perfectly executed. Genolution, your USS Enterprise is perfect as well.
  19. That space shuttle is looking sweet! Is it ready to be updated on the Space Shuttle Turbo thread? I've been working on an Interplanetary Booster Ship. It is comprised of an interplanetary booster with 2 nuclear engines, a lab that will land on Duna, a Duna capable lander (that can make orbit from the surface), and of course the CSM. It's been tested and the exhaust doesn't hit or damage any of the components.
  20. at @astropapi1 and Majorjim, great to hear you're all working on Dream Chasers! I really love the Dream Chaser and it's nice to see more being made available on the forums. I've tried many times and always give up because lifting bodies are so hard to make in stock KSP. The curves on the spacecraft are also difficult to replicate _jack has also made a nice Dream Chaser here: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/67474-_jack-s-Rocket-Building-Company/page2
  21. It's also perfect for launching telescopes! The telescope is from Tarsier Space Technology
