I'll throw in my own speculation that they want that fairing recovery as hot as they can make it, to test its robustness -

I know eh? It used to be one of my favourite sites, back when it had its own forum. Now it’s just another clickbait fest I’m so looking forward to seeing and hearing 27 Merlin 1D’s firing up -

You couldn’t have nailed it any more precisely.

Star Wars Episode VIII (8) the Last Jedi Discussion
StrandedonEarth replied to Kerbal01's topic in The Lounge
Tracking a ship through hyperspace is easy if you have a beacon aboard the ship you want to track. In A New Hope, the Empire put one inside the Millennium Falcon while it was aboard the death Star. -
Star Wars Episode VIII (8) the Last Jedi Discussion

Gravity bombs. In space. Um, yeah... Great spectacle, story is..... I dunno, it's ok. I would have preferred that the third trilogy featured Grand Admiral Thrawn. At least Ben/Ren didn't come off as such a pouty little spoiled brat as in Ep7. And Disney is going to pump out one SW movie a year for as long as they make money. Hopefully someone has a good origin story planned for Solo -
Hint: This series is actually from literature, and not so much a series as a "universe." One which includes my avatar, which should give this one away to anyone familiar with it. But there are a series of short story anthologies from this universe, which includes the story I described.

Awesome! -
Mankind has enjoyed centuries of peace before the first time they come in contact with an alien species: a race of warlike felinoids that discovered a interstellar photon-drive ship from Earth.

Ya ya, I gotta wait until tomorrow night. My son is hoping nobody drops spoilers at school tomorrow

I went with the F-18, simply because that’s what Canada has for patrolling the frozen northern wastelands. Except we call it the CF-18, I dunno if there’s any real difference aside from maybe cold-weather hydraulic fluid.

Yes, being able to disable RCS for rotation was a godsend (Squadsend?). But using RCS to turn large ships is useful if you don’t want to time the turn with a calendar.

And they're good for blowing stuff up too! (see "Destroy KSC: Highway to Hell" link in my sig.) Not if you add a rocket engine! But then they tend to lose control..... Maybe I should add spoilers... -
My first few times docking were horrible, trying to align and line-up everything by eye with unbalanced RCS. I found a docking alignment indicator mod and learned how to fly the navball and never looked back. The best advice I can give is:

Never a good sign, for sure. I hope that they're positive no particles found their way into the S2 during the static fire. E: *bites tongue* -
Space: 1999! A man and two women are room-mates in a California apartment with a conservative landlord. probably way too easy

As a medium, no. As a carrier, yes; sound is already carried on radio waves. To carry sound on visible light would just need a different mechanism to modulate and receive it. Edit: actually, I believe stellar and/or neutron star quakes have been detected by their effect on the starlight. Sound is a vibration, and quakes are vibrations, basically infrasound. -
