BttF-inspired plates... "OUTAHERE" "OUTASPCE" I know, I know, they're a bit too long, just do a custom stamping. Squeezing 9 letters would be even better, "OUTASPACE" -
Did somebody say... lightsaber?
StrandedonEarth replied to Spaceception's topic in Science & Spaceflight
In the first Star Wars novel, Splinter of the Mind's Eye, Luke was able to adjust his lightsaber down to short and thin, good for jimmying doors. He was also able to charge it from a blaster power pack. -

Did somebody say... lightsaber?
StrandedonEarth replied to Spaceception's topic in Science & Spaceflight
While incredible energy density and future space flight go hand-in-hand, being able to melt a blast door fairly quickly requires a stupendous amount of energy to be packed into that lightsaber handle. Oh wait, (waves hand) “the crystal is channeling the Force to up the power output. Also, these are not droids you’re looking for” Also, the relevant xkcd hasn’t been posted here yet? -

Why RTLS? Beef up the heat shielding (inflatable heat shield?) and land it wherever it is ballistically and logistically convenient. -

I wonder how BFR would do with (2, 4,6,8?) F9’s as strap-on boosters. Maybe it could get a nearly full tanker into orbit..... -

They posted it beside the BulgariaSat landing video that was a joke -
Much easier to look on the surface around the plume, and/or collect what is raining down around it. Getting a lander in on (a very kerbal typo) the surface in a plume zone would be a scientific bonanza.

Well, you probably shouldn’t ask her if she wants to see your rocket, unless you managed to get into a conversation with her about model rockets... E. or LEGO rockets I was sad that I had a Pentium 100, until I met a man with a 486...

So that's what took them so long, certifying the car as space-worthy and figuring out how to mate it to the payload adapter. Edit: Actually, that's probably how they killed time waiting for the pads to be ready. -

So I dug a little deeper and Google brought me this: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2015/08/07/430149677/eye-shapes-of-the-animal-world-hint-at-differences-in-our-lifestyles I guess the shape of goat pupils stand out because their eyes are lighter colored.

What trips me out about goats is the dumbbell-shaped pupils. Do sheep or any other animals have the same pupils?
