  1. Jumpin Jebediah! How deep into Jool did you have to go to aerobrake at those speeds?
  2. *gasp* You heathen! Blasphemer! I'll get the pitchforks, who has the torches?
  3. Wait what? I don't think Trajectories and PreciseNode are playing nice together.
  4. I finally cleared my KAC list of ongoing missions, culminating a landing an outpost on Moho, placing an A-class 'roid in Laythe orbit, and finally landing on Eeloo. All Explore missions are now complete! But I suppose I still need to put flags on Tylo and Vall. Next contract to start on involves an asteroid outpost around Bop, so I suppose I should send up a manned Tylo lander while I'm at it.
  5. Jeb: "I found some!" Bill: "Found what?" Jeb: "Ore..." Bob: "Or what?" I'm fine with that name. Val is looking good too. I just gotta be careful that my wife doesn't think I'm spending more time with Val than with her...
  6. But if you use ALT-F12 it shouldn't toggle your wifi; ALT makes it a different function. Besides, it's not like you need wifi to play KSP. My laptop also uses F12 for wifi and I haven't had that problem. My keyboard has a fn key; when I hold that and push a pre-assigned function key, it doesn't do the pre-assigned function. Like if I don't hold fn when I take a screenshot, the windows help window pops up instead.
  7. I'm more into the old-school rock: The Who, The Stones, AC\DC, Pink Floyd, Alice Cooper, etc. But this video got me into Linkin PArk, like it did for a lot of people:
  8. And people here are getting all nervous about "Arctic Apples" But yeah, the CCD affecting honeybees is a cause for serious concern, but since worrying about it would affect the profits of megacorporations, they prefer to conduct business as usual. *sigh*
  9. Generally good, but I can understand the concern when genes from completely different species are inserted.
  10. I'm glad they expanded the choices. I voted for Vulcan; Zeus should be reserved for a super-heavy-lift launcher. Or perhaps Hercules would be better in that role, but that's also the name of C-130 heavy cargo transport aircraft. Hercules-S for a super-heavy-launcher maybe? But I digress....
  11. Ooooooh.... Better yet, name it Jebediah. Or, continuing with the planet theme of the Jupiter and Saturn rockets, they could call it Uranus. Nah, there'd be too many complaints about pouring money into a black hole. Neptune might suggest it's going down. Hmmm.... Pluto? Mickey? Well, it is ULA, maybe.... Goofy? Maybe Pfizer would allow them to name it the Viagra 2! Free advertising!
  12. Well, part of the concept was to grab a boulder to increase the mass of the "gravity tractor" probe.
  13. Nobody has mentioned an X-wing or Y-wing yet?
  14. Apparently ULA is seeking public input on that to name their next-generation launcher. Out of the choices presented, Eagle is the only one worthy, but even that sounds like too much of a Falcon rip-off. Besides, it would take away from the immortal words, "The Eagle has landed." One of the suggestions in the comments is Thunderbird, which I quite like and would be very appropriate. But I have to think that "Delta-V" would be a very punny name for a rocket, but maybe that's why they wanted to stay away from that. Any other suggestions?
  15. Not so much saying something stupid, but just outdated information: My grade 7 teacher said Mercury was the hottest planet for the obvious reason of being closest to the sun. He was shocked when I showed him a university-level textbook explaining that Venus was hotter due to the greenhouse effect of its thick atmosphere
  16. It's basically for incoming messages. The only thing generating messages in the stock game is the contract system. One of the mods I use is Science Funding, which gives funds and rep (and generates messages) when science is sent/returned home. Of course, sandbox mode won't generate any messages
  17. I also recommend the Waypoints Manager mod. Another feature that "Should've been stock!"
  18. I suppose it could refer to Blaine, Wa.
  19. Huge pic, link instead: https://nationalpostcom.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/fo0518_dambusters_c_rj2000.jpg
  20. Yeah, it was always the glass part that threw me. That was definitely a tough one, I think it would have even stumped Blaine the Mono. My closest guess must have been TV schedules.
  21. Yesterday was pretty sweet. I was able to use Tylo on my way up the well from Laythe to Bop. Used just enough dV to reach Tylo, burned maybe 7m/s at Tylo Pe, then only needed a 5m/s correction at the Dn to be on a Bop intercept. I don't remember how much I saved though, I think a few hundred m/s
  22. I've actually gotten used to playing on a touchpad. In fact, I started playing KSP on a touchpad. I can even play Starcraft on a touchpad. Ever since my wireless USB optical mouse started acting wonky, I gave up and became one with the touchpad. It has its limitations, but I've adapted
  23. You mean like the fact the crews out exploring Eve, Duna, and Laythe don't know that they've been relabelled as "colonists?"
