  1. I also use KAC. Another suggestion is to bring your orbit down to Moho's, then plot a correction at the inclination marker. Hope that helps.
  2. My first thought was Ants. The lightning part makes me think Electrons. The images part makes me think TV or Movies.
  3. RIP Jeb He's scattered across Eve's lake country after he got clipped in the head and knocked out of his command seat during entry by a tank that was jettisoned at what turned out to be the wrong time. That was actually merciful, since his lander/ascent vehicle couldn't handle the stress of the 'chutes deploying and he would have been stranded there. Bob is now designing a stronger version, and he's remembering to test the 'chute deployment on Kerbin. Jeb only thought to test the ascent mode, not the descent.
  4. When at last you do sleep, you'll dream of massive rockets experiencing mid-air RUD's, when you're not dreaming of running out of fuel 50m from the surface of Tylo.
  5. Capt. Kirk! Much dumber than the original and almost as courageous! Honorable mention to Chuck, first Kerbal to break the speed of sound, although he had to be forcefully strapped into the aircraft
  6. I've noticed that when I revert to launch a few times, it starts to get a little laggy. The extra delta-time between physics calcs may cause bigger shakes which breaks stuff. That's my theory anyways.
  7. I've developed three lifters depending on the payload size. Since my last last few missions have been interplanetary, I've been using my 200-ton-payload Goliagus booster a lot. The last thing it lifted was my 160-ton Eve lander/ascent vehicle, with a second launch for crew and tug
  8. Great idea. Now how about the return trips? Kerbal Alarm Clock has a transfer window calculator which I use for everything
  9. Had a glitch in the VAB and accidentally saved it (the glitch where you can't get rid of a piece). I thought I had managed to work around it with subassemblies, but the glitch remained hidden, only to come out when I would try to revert back to the launchpad. The rocket would spawn sideways in midair, with the glitched part where it was supposed to be above the pad. The rest of the landing gear was gone Edit: Ah well, back to the drawing board. The next clean-sheet iteration of my first Eve ascent vehicle came out better anyways. And no, it would not launch like that. All the staging was gone too
  10. Medicine is what comes to mind, but it doesn't quite seem to fit...
  11. Please deposit another 25 cents Although I suppose these days it'd be a loonie (Canadian dollar coin)....
  12. Again, you can leave the science gear on the surface, just "take data" first (since 0.23, that is). More TWR is always good for descent, for those panic situations when you find the ground rushing up at you. Not sure how you're going to drop those top tanks
  13. Nope. EVA your kerbal, stand close to the experiment (material bay, goo can, etc) and right-click on it. Then click "remove experiment" or whatever it says. You can then carry the experiments around and store them in your command pod. You can also repair broken landing gear and wheels, or repack 'chutes this way. Edit: The only downside I've found from abandoning my ascent vehicles is not getting science for "Recovering a vehicle returned from (way the heck out there)"
  14. My advice is to leave the science units on the ground. Pull the experiments from them on EVA and store them in your pod. The lander can is also lighter than the Mk1. Lighter is better! This was my rescue rover. The ascent stage is just the FL-T200 tank in the middle with a 48-7S. Command seats are as light as you can go, and then EVA over to the Kerbin return vehicle. While the rover itself had enough dV to land itself, I used the nuclear transfer stage with a few whiffs (an FL-T800's worth) of leftover fuel for the initial deorbit and descent for even more margin. I had 1 LVT-45 descent engine at each end and dropped the extra tanks as they emptied. Tons of TWR for emergency power.
  15. Helmets make great heatshields Eve
  16. You can wave at someone passing in the night. I made that part up for the rhyme. You're up cziken
  17. Gee, and that's how I was planning to build my first Eve ascent vehicle. I guess I'll go with the lander can then
  18. On the last lap. The homestretch. Reaching for the Holy Grail. Moho, Duna, Dres, Eeloo. Been there, landed that. Gilly, Ike, Mun, Minmus, Laythe, Vall, Tylo, Bop, and Pol, I flagged them all. Even had a look at sunspots from underneath. Jeb or his friends have come back from everywhere, save those brave souls who personally probed Kerbol. Now it's time to visit that eater of ships, the purple planet. That's right, I have my sights set on Eve. The Mighty Jeb is determined to scoop some purple regolith and deliver it personally to Wehrner von Kerman. He will strap into his command seat and rise on a pillar of fire through the hellish soup of Eve, until he can circle the bottomless pit of its gravity well! The Tylo flag mysteriously exploded when my rescue rover approached and I didn't realize what blew up at the time
  19. TV: Moving picture box Radio: sound box Sauna: Hot box
  20. You can see me in the ocean, or travelling at the speed of light. Sometimes I mean goodbye, or just passing in the night. What am I?
