Sadly ignorance and stupidity is like rampant diseaseses in our civilisation, targeting the intellectualy weak and then those infect the youth and other intellectualy weak, making a giant apocalipse of ill minded zombies uncapable of understanding reason and making higher goals other than eat sleep ect ect. No wonder there are so many zombie themed media these days they are trying to tell us something.

You discover an asteroid. What do you name it?
MC.STEEL replied to Naten's topic in Science & Spaceflight

What do YOU want to see in 0.24?
MC.STEEL replied to MaverickSawyer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
cool then you all get a contract mechanic -
its an intersting concept but the 1/3 failure rate is realy bugging me.

What Would You do to Discover Super-Heavy Elements?
MC.STEEL replied to bigyihsuan's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Its simple really ill just harvest a bit of you moma because shes so heavy she has a density of elemental isotope 479 EDIT;Do you think some of them get more stable down the line? Like two rows down the elements stop being decaying within a few microseconds and start having a half life of 45million years or something like that. -
The Dubious Science of COD Ghosts
MC.STEEL replied to Lundmunchkins's topic in Science & Spaceflight
there is a game theory episode about it and i can say that the guns you use to shoot have a pathetic trust to weight ratio so its not that important -
In general you wouldnt want to eat any alien lifeform before you are sure that it doesent contain any nasty to you(but totaly harmles to itself) chemicles. Canibalism is a total taboo because you have to get the human meat from somewhere,so its not a matter of eating another creature whe do it all the time, but about the ethics about killing one.

So its apparently going to be around the brightness of Venus by your description. there it goes out the window And whe allready broke the plausibility of gravity but what if it is hidden by a forming moon (a larger boulder and a smog of dust thats not in an orderly ring) so it obscures the planet. I know the ring has to be very VERY dense but it would make for some great planetary views. and btw it would probably still be visible by radio telescopes.
-
I was seriously thinking about that at a time but hiding a planet isnt such a hard task, not everyone looks at the speck in the sky and wonders what is that, professional and backyard astronomers who do try so disclose this secret find themselfes in a corporate ****storm
-
I want it close to earth so you can reach it easily with 2040s technology and i forgot to say that it has a breathable atmosphere of 40% oxygen, 45%nitrogen and 15% innert gasses and CO2 and has a small ecosistem witch makes it even more easy to spot i bet. So as such a planet is allready imposible what about making it even smaller like our moon with a solid core of ununpentium:P(yes i know it would decay fast),would that make it harder to spot?
-
The problem with the other L points is that the object has to be dead center in order to stay there so thats why i chose the L5/L4,wouldt want a runaway planet now would whe.
-
I have been thinking about a scenario for a game/comic/anyme/whatever and i have to ask tree things. Is it possible for a small Mercury sized object to have a stable orbit in the earth-sun l5/l4 lagrange point even if all the other planets act on it? furthermore, how bright will it be,its suposed to be a goverment coverup that silences every backyard astronomer who finds it but i dont want it to be too obvious? (btw the albedo isnt very high) and last is it possible for this theoretical planet to have 4/5fts of earths gravity and a magnetic field? is it possible with a very high density or is it just straight out handwavium?

Flags are not "Flights in Progress"
MC.STEEL replied to jfjohnny5's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
they should switch flights to missions (that you make in the control center) in later versions save tab but yea the game should also be changed so it doesent treat landed objects as flights -
Adding/removing music
MC.STEEL replied to Toa Aerrow's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
FULL SUPPORT. Also they mightwant to replace the royalty free tracks with ones made just for ksp. -
Well i dont see 3.75m parts all that usefull(let alone 5m). A central core of 2-3 jumbos and boosters with a mainsail is capable of lifting 8-25 tons. the only thing is see it usefull is when you are launching fuel tankers, whole bases is one go and such. so there shouldnt be all that much of them so maybe a scaled jumbo a scalled mainsail and some base parts like H.O.M.E. and thats that

Granted, but you become the most obnoxious grammar n**i in the world. (swear filter kicked in) i wish for something i dont know

Science is not suposed to be grindy!
MC.STEEL replied to MC.STEEL's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I understand but 4x games are active and there research isnt just defeat an enemy of this race to unlock something. As someone that has played games with research that is in the background so you research indirectly by giving them more funds or somthing else, the whole "do this to earn science" just feels like one big rpg skill sistem blatantly maskarading as a research mechanic. And ps accuse me of demoting original concepts but this is no "original" its more than a space rpg than a research sistem and the science points are just xp. If im rushing squad, well sorry take your time dont mind me:) -
