Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
KroShan replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I don't Another guess for Ares, i just found a thread here on the forums - that thing looks like a Kerbal Mars Ship and is totally doable with @Felbourn's skills: BTW: dispite reading the anouncement of the mid season break, i checked Bob's YT channel for new vids. I think i get to used to this good stuff... -
Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
KroShan replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I was pretty shocked this weekend when i realized that the EU has more inhabitants than the USA (510 million vs 322 million) but the budgets are really different ESA has ~10€ per year and inhabitant, NASA has more than ~50€ per year and inhabitant. I participated in todays ESA Citizen debate. And some of the questions discussed international cooperation. I think every little step to Bob's vision is a good one. Now i wonder what the budget of EUSA is. -

Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
KroShan replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Thanks - i think this is a nice / elegant way to do it. - for some reason i thought it is attached to the first launched station core. What is your framerate with this station/how high is the partcount now? Off Topic: well- now i will try to populate my own RSS/RO/RP0 Station (20t Core segment and tiny compared to yours) in year 1955. I think i have to try the welder mod - but i think the reloading times are to long for my patience. I just found out on @Felbourn's tweet that he is very popular in Europe - more viewers on the list are from here than on the west side of the great pond ( about 18 000 views without russia) -
[WIP][1.0.5]* RSS Visual Enhancements (RVE)
KroShan replied to pingopete's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
@hellblazer ; @pingopete THX it looks very good- can you tell me how much RAM it takes? I run a RSS RO RP0 installation on a PC with 4GB Ram on medium texture details. -
Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
KroShan replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Great episode again. The view at about 4min:00s put a smile upon my face... I didn't get the spoiler explanation. Thanks for your time and effort. I am looking forward to your next video - whenever it comes. -
Project Ares: Alternate Earth History in Real Solar System
KroShan replied to Felbourn's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
I just saw it on your profile - it looks great. i wonder why there is written MARS and not ARES Great episode again - i liked the VAB gates opening I hope @Felbourn manages to get even further. Maybe a finally working X-33... but no pressure -
@swjr-swis i think most of the members dont need another copy of KSP so thats and maybe dont have a console anyway. And i haven't seen any advertising or advise on -german- gamer sites. So it might be difficult to reach a large group who isn't following KSP threads allready. Well anyway, congrats to the winners and all the pals who answered correctly. I saw the first question and thought - meh, why should i read up on those things *lazy*

i think the time for "Archived after" stated in the Clean up States is pretty short. Many of us are on vacation... I try to contribute with my fresh install. This clean up is very welcome, i think.

Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!
KroShan commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
its a bit like a fat flyspeck on the monitor. but i think everyone notices it and wants to discover what it is. They will find that there is (a little) more to discover than just landscape. -
Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!
KroShan commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
I found nothing on the island - and on the old KSC (maybe a new squad monolith?) The Monolith on KSC terrain is much more prominent now. but i found and reported a minor bug: http://bugs.kerbalspaceprogram.com/issues/10000 the communotron 16 gives of sparks during reentry looks quite nice. (here: aero details low but also visible at normal) @Ted version 1.1.3 is not selectable on the tracker yet. -

Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!
KroShan commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
Finally downloading 188MB. i am really looking forward to test: i guess i just look for it in the scenarios. * Dramatically improve resolution of asteroid textures, while simultaneously improving their shader performance by 400%. New shader can have very subtle desaturated brown/red hues sometimes. -
Kerbal Space Program patch 1.1.3 is now available!
KroShan commented on KasperVld's article in Developer Articles
* Fixed staging requiring two activation's when resuming in flight mode. woah - i always thought this is a safety feature. i think it will happen to all of us to be surprised that staging works on the first 'space' -

KroShan replied to goduranus's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)

Heavy SSTO Efficiency Challenge
KroShan replied to icedown's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
@Nefrums wow thats great... i always thought that 1300-1400m/s is the maximum with rapiers in airbreathing mode. I think i have to reduce my numer of air intakes... That cargobay drag issue is really not welcome for this challange. Also i wonder how you can maintain such a low Angle of Attack to keep leveled at sealevel. @Grenartia two tips from my side if the tips from above don't work: Use heavier Landing gear - the supension is stronger and therefor the deviation due to the load is lower. The second avice is to check if the Landing gear is really parallel to the takeoff direction. For this select the landing gear with the rotation gizmo. Press 'F' for absolute mode and 'C' for toggle angle snap on. Than rotate the gear around every axis so that it looks right. The Problem there is that many Aero parts are curved in two directions and espacially Landing gear on the BigS wing parts will never be inline with the takoff direction
