  1. In regards to your post, first off, it's worth mentioning that while there are definitely those of us on the team who don't work on game development, all of the work that we do helps the game go-round. On the topic of testing, outside of Squad employees, it's done on a volunteer basis KSP is an early access game. It's a game that, while highly playable, is still under ongoing development and we've not hidden that fact. Right now, the goal is to get to a point of scope completion. With this, please remember that as HarvesteR said, scope complete doesn't mean we'll be done with the game. There's no taking the money and running. If there was, I'd be left behind. I'm a terrible runner. I'm just pointing this out to say that from our end, that shouldn't be the case. Yes, it should be kept in mind that there is still development going on and there are still changes being made. At the same time, the team always has room to fine tune other areas. Constructive criticism is most certainly welcome. There's room for a healthy mix of opinions on the forum, but it must be understood that the game's still changing, that our own procedures are still changing and that the game is growing, with the community right along with it. There's always room for improvement, but for that to happen, the feedback must be constructive, no matter what side of the fence the opinion is on.
  2. The countdown to Jeb Norris comments begins now...
  3. I am thoroughly enjoying seeing the great efforts going on in this thread. The title was edited to reflect tomorrow's newfound deadline.
  4. If only they had some sort of community manager. Hmm... But seriously though, you will be hearing about everything coming in First Contract with much greater depth, just not this second. There are still approvals to be made and schedules to be kept. The logos are out, so we're close. The finish line's in sight, but not quite there yet. The materials you ask for, like FAQs, gameplay videos and such, are being finished up as testing for First Contract starts winding down. We want to make sure that everything is set in stone before that sort of info is released, so you'll be seeing it in a more coordinated fashion than our previous update.
  5. I've noticed this going on and brought it up. Seems it's an issue on the host's end so there's not much we can do except ride it out during these short periods.
  6. Wait, what? Totally don't recall saying that. If I had, definitely not the intention. Reddit and the forum are actually pretty even keel in terms of active membership, exposure and the type of ideas that come forth. The one big difference between Reddit and here is that the format allows for greater visibility on certain things, but as for the type of feedback that we look at, it's not exactly one over the other. More like an overall temperature being taken. I must say that in terms of specific, detailed requests and the volume at which they're being heard, the forum takes the cake, but we do have to have to take all parts of the community into account. Not just here or Reddit.
  7. If the ESA got in touch with us with interest to work on something in the same way NASA did, I don't think it'd be out of the realm of possibility. It's not every day you hear from agencies like that.
  8. Yep, that's fine. The ingenuity put forward within the constraints listed are part of the challenge.
  9. Nope. It was a plot twist decided long ago I had some people PM me about the names in the videos and I told them that this week it'd be ok. This was why. This challenge, though - no names. It's time to get tough.
  10. We've all waited long enough. It's finally time to start revealing the winning logos that will become official and represent the in-game companies as of update 0.24. We received a few hundred entries from throughout the community, viewed them all and somehow managed to whittle them down to the few that were ultimately chosen for inclusion in the update. After a bit of a polish, the final logos were ready for placement, starting with the ones below and continuing throughout the week. Originally submitted by M1nD We'd like to thank every single person who sent in their images. We had a seriously hard time choosing our favorites and an even harder one picking the final ones to be included with 0.24. We had many sleek, professional looking entries, some cool clip art stuff and even a fair number of hand drawn entries. All were considered on the same plane and we were highly impressed by the amount of talent and passion each person had put into their submission. We're proud of the work everyone did. The combined efforts make this yet another reason why the KSP community is considered the best out there.
  11. Yes, Javster. The Media Team gains access to experimental builds to test the game and ready videos that are unveiled close to the release of an update. As for Xacktar, I like his videos. We're not accepting anyone onto the media team at the moment, but I could surely suggest him during the next go round. No guarantees that he'd be accepted, but every little bit helps.
  12. They should have been. It's against the competition rules not to be and I tried squashing it out as much as I caught. However, in this specific instance, it'll work out. Carry on.
  13. Guys, I've been asked this question through PM earlier, but I wanted to answer it here to clarify this. All footage featured in the challenge must be in game. No external footage and nothing you cannot achieve on your own sans-mods in the game.
  14. That's because there's usually a little pause before it gets pushed here. Go discuss everything where the notes are
  15. The only things that technically *aren't* stock, but necessary, are the soccer balls. So it's more like a 99.9 percent stock challenge.
  16. Hi, everyone. Please be aware that at least two periods of maintenance downtime, each lasting 30 minutes or less will take place tomorrow, June 25th between 3am and 12pm CDT. We apologize for the inconvenience.
  17. Note that I said that it *must* be used, not *how it should be* used.
  18. Congratulations to the winners from challenge 1. To those of you who were eliminated, you still did great work. Better luck next next time
  19. Polls are closed. Votes are tabulated. I'm taking care of something else at the moment, but will have all the results and the next challenge up soon after.
  20. Entries are up! Voting is up! Check out the OP for the linkage. Oh and Red Iron Crown, it's cool. I was happy to help
