  1. Does "scope complete" count for me?
  2. The server's not online anymore so it won't be redirecting anyone anywhere anytime soon.
  3. No, not yet. According to the PMs I have about it, there's only one. Remember to PM me your stuff, folks.
  4. I will, though the add-on was really meant to let you guys run wild with
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I'll bring this up to the crew tomorrow.
  6. Don't make that assumption, Ival If you've got something to add or even some hidden skills you'd like to prove, you should totally throw your name in the hat.
  7. Because futbol americano still has a following down at Squad HQ, it's easier to use soccer than football, despite it being more familiar globally. I, myself, can go between soccer and football with the same meaning quite often. It *is* optional, but as I've stated elsewhere, it depends on the mod dev. With Curse being our official partner it's what makes the most sense. That said, you might want to take a look at the license...
  8. Honestly, not much in places outside of our control, but exclusivity will be enforced here on the forum and on Reddit. Plus, you know, the honor system, spirit of competition and all that. Just don't be a party pooper
  9. I think that's a great format for a contest in the future, L3GO. I'll keep that in mind. Also note that you do not need the mod for the contest, but it wouldn't hurt to have.
  10. While the World Cup kicks off in Brazil, Squad is launching festivities up in the stars with an official mod pack and community competition centered around the familiar planet of Kerbin. It’s time to celebrate the Kerbin Cup! OFFICIAL MOD Squad has released its first-ever official Kerbal Space Program modpack on Curse. The Kerbin Cup pack contains Kerbal-sized and rocket-sized SOCCER BALLS with the physics to match, as well as the flags of all 32 World Cup participating countries. It’s both a small token of gratitude and a way to capture the excitement of one of the world’s biggest sporting events, but in the grand stage that only space can provide. COMMUNITY COMPETITION Represent your KSP community home and compete in the Kerbin Cup contest! Reddit and The Forum will square off in a weekly, elimination-based competition where prizes and pride are on the line. Mystery, creativity and the community voice will rule over all. Have fun and enjoy!
  11. As we speak, millions of people all over the earth have come together to celebrate national pride through sport, as the finest footballers from 32 countries represent them in the World Cup. We at Squad want you to not only take pride in being part of the KSP community, but also in your own slice of the community - your “nation,†if you will. With that, we proudly present the first ever Kerbin Cup tournament! This thread will only be used to discuss the tournament. The Kerbin Cup tournament will consist of four teams of four people who will represent the best of what the following two community channels have to offer - Reddit and The Forum. Each team will collaborate on a mystery challenge that will be revealed each Monday. Team submissions must be handed in by that Friday. When they have, they will be posted here, sans team names, ready for a community vote that will take place over the course of the weekend. The team on each side that gathers the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. This will continue until there are just two teams left, all culminating in a grand finale that will be judged by members of Squad. Now after all this, you might be wondering what you’re playing for. Well, much like week’s challenge, the grand prize itself will remain a mystery until the time is right. However, you will also get the added bonus of being able to exclusively use the image of the Golden Kerbal as the avatar or flair on your community channel of choice. Here are several other official rules you must abide by: 1. No one outside of your team is eligible to contribute to your project without direct permission from me. Permission will only be granted in the event of certain circumstances, such as technical problems, acts of nature, etc. Those caught using contributions from non-team members without direct permission will be disqualified from competition. 2. Deadlines for entry are from the time each challenge is announced to Friday at 6PM, Central Daylight Time. 3. There is only one submission per team. Make it count. 4. You must not talk about your work or reveal your work to the community until we unveil it and make it open for votes. 5. Voting will close at the time a new challenge is posted and eliminations have been announced. Challenge 1 Results The Forum: Team Jedi - Team 2 Crotchety Old Modders - Team 1 I Think We Broke It - Team 4 The A-Team - Team 3 (Eliminated) Reddit: Kerb-O-Nautix - Team 2 Shock Diamond - Team 4 Team clown_baby - Team 1 Team Snacks - Team 3 (Eliminated) Challenge 2 Results The Forum: Crotchety Old Modders - Team 3 I Think We Broke It - Team 2 Team Jedi - Team 1 Reddit: Kerb-O-Nautix - Team 4 Shock Diamond - Team 6 Team clown_baby - Team 5 Challenge 3 Results The Forum: Your Forum champion is Crotchety Old Modders! I Think We Broke It Team Jedi Reddit Shock Diamond and Team Clown_Baby have both bowed out of the competition. Your Reddit champion is Kerb-O-Nautix! Final Challenge The final challenge is here! It's Crotchety Old Modders vs. Kerb-O-Nautix in a duel to the figurative death. More like a gentlemanly duel, actually, since the challenge is in their hands. Here's a brief explanation of what each team has to do. Both teams will have a week to complete their respective challenges, starting on July 24 at 9 AM CDT and ending on July 31 at 9AM CDT. CROTCHETY OLD MODDERS They must build a Mars colony that can survive for a year and produce an imgur album of at least ten photos of their mission. They must use actual and proposed NASA hardware from the 1970's from the Integrated Program Plan, along with the aid of realism mods. Excluded mods include those that decrease the level of realism and cheat physics. Hyperedit will definitely not be in play. Any other mods may be used within reason. KERB-O-NAUTIX They must travel through the universe, visiting as many places as they can, making sure that three Kerbals return safely back to Kerbin. All this, while making sure to produce an imgur album of at least ten photos from the mission. The team must use TAC Lifesupport, FAR, and only 100 tons of LV total. They must take three kerbals, a three-person command pod and a hitchiker. Not allowed? Crazy propulsion mods, no ions, no jets that aren't AJE and no mods that allow you to do things you cannot do in real life. They will not be able to use seats, either, with the exception of landers and rovers. It's kitschy, it's cool and it's 100% Kerbal. This is a render for an exclusive, Shapeways 3D print made just for the winners of the Kerbin Cup. It encapsulates the spirit of the contest and the company's Mexican futbol heritage, by presenting a Kerbal inspired by the breakthrough keeper for the Mexican National Team, Guillermo Ochoa. 13. Details can be found HERE and dispersed in this THREAD. The transfer of mods from Spaceport to anywhere else was up to the person/people who developed the mods. Yes, Spaceport as was known is now gone. Curse is presently our official mod repository. Curse will not be put in charge of any other areas of the community. They will remain our official mod repository. You may want to ask Jadedcat and Kaelten about ads on Curseforge, but last I knew, that was to remain sans-ads. Nutt007 - The answer below is for you. Also note that the Curse team that has been working with us has been active here on the forum to help solve people's problems as they arise and have acted with the utmost professionalism the whole way through.
  14. I...um....it's uh...erm...yeah. That's uh...*scratches head.* Yeah. That's what I have to say about it.
  15. Glad I can help with the correction then! We're keeping the present business model. No pay to play. No freemium. End of story. Now let's get this back on topic please.
  16. You're correct in how they haven't been announced yet. They'll be announced closer to the release of 0.24.
  17. Let's get this thread back on track here. Would you prefer updates that continue the size and scope of the way they've been going or smaller, more incremental updates?
  18. I'm really impressed by these. I'd love to see the rest of the team.
  19. You've been blessed. I've also taken the fanworks idea up a notch. You'll see this week.
  20. Hi, everyone. It's come to our attention that a particular alternative mod repository has gone "live." Under normal circumstances, we would not take action against a community-based repository, however we have taken measures to blacklist the name and URL of that site from the forum for these reasons: It appears to scrape Spaceport entirely. It promotes community-developed content whose use may be unauthorized, depending on the licenses used. The website will continue to be blacklisted until those and other potential issues regarding it can be worked out between Squad and members of the modding community. It's important to protect the intellectual property of both parties, especially on behalf of the modders who work hard to elevate the game past even our own expectations. If you take any issue with this, please appeal to myself and the moderation team directly. Note once again that unless otherwise noted, there are no issues with any other community-backed initiatives that are being planned at this time and no similar actions will be taken against them. Thanks.
  21. Just curious here - does anyone have a list of what mods/mod combos are confirmed to either succeed or fail with this?
  22. That's also why people me are around. I certainly can't cure all ills that may be felt, but at the very least, I listen to and report what's going on. I can certainly suggest, poke and prod and push for things as hard as I can, which I have done on numerous occasions during my tenure, to varying success. That said, most of what we’re working on was reported both at the start of the 0.24 development cycle and then what we’re planning to add to the update was featured in HarvesteR’s posts here, here and here. At this stage of development, we are quite focused on the next update, which means that sometimes, info may be sparse and sometimes, there might be information overload. Either way, you are being heard and we’re all working towards a greater goal that we hope will make you happy in the long run.
  23. Chad “C7†Jenkins has been a valued member of the Kerbal Space Program community and team, as well as a cherished member of the Squad family. It is why we have a bittersweet feeling about this post to inform everybody that he has moved on to pursue new game development opportunities. “We appreciated having Chad as part of our team and it was very meaningful that we gave him his first opportunity as a game developer,†said Adrian Goya, co-owner of Squad. “And while we are sad to see him move on to new projects, we wish him great luck and will always value his work with us.†The entire team at Squad is appreciative of the efforts he’s made on behalf of KSP, including great work on the Asteroid Redirect Mission update and his talk about modular design at Game Developers Conference. “Working on Kerbal Space Program has been a dream come true for me,†Jenkins said. “I'm very thankful to Adrian, Ezequiel and Felipe for believing in me, and giving me the opportunity to work with such a talented group of individuals. These last two years have been a fantastic experience in so many ways. I'd also like to thank the KSP community, for being so supportive of me, all the way back to when I was first learning to mod the game. I'm looking forward to seeing all the awesome things that the team has planned for future updates.†We hope to see everyone use this article as an opportunity to thank Chad for his efforts and show why KSP is considered by Squad and many others to have the best community in games.
