Anyone else just enjoy those moments when it all clicks?
Rowsdower replied to G'th's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Has there been any other time you managed to make things click without a shutdown? -
We've made an official home for all of our Italian friends to talk KSP! Come join us in the ITALIAN section of the Kerbal Space Program Forum today.
-
Yeah, that one would be a bit of a necro by now. This one stands.
-
While you have a small taste of it in that article, please keep in mind that MP is not set to be implemented for a while yet. Features, hows, whys, whats and whens will all be determined during a timeframe to be decided.

Demographically speaking, we target the ages most video game companies set their sights on. Is KSP JUST for them? That's a solid no. It's for everyone who has the will to try it and the smarts to keep at it. It's for the ones who entertain themselves with explosions and the people who can't make it off the ground. It's about science, exploration and a sense of achievement. It's for whoever wants to pick up and play.

Kommunity Poll: Watch experimentals videos or wait?
Rowsdower replied to Tex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Sorry to hear of your disappointment, Liowen. I assure you that like anyone here, members of the groups like the media team and KSP-TV would be excited about having access to experimental builds (they *are* fans, after all), I wouldn't say it's to the point of holding it over anyone's head. There's a certain level of professionalism to be expected. If it's not there and you have thoughts that seem otherwise, let us know and we'll handle it. The thing with all the media that gets out during pre-release is that those groups *are* under various NDAs. Their material would not be made available publicly without our consent. Unfortunately, the scheduling got way thrown off during the last go-round and the last minute issues we faced ended up stretching everything out way longer than it should have and we're sorry for that. -
Kommunity Poll: Watch experimentals videos or wait?
Rowsdower replied to Tex's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Also keep in mind that we don't plan on allowing pre-release videos to get out there as early this time, just in case that was one thing that may have ruined your enjoyment a bit. -
.24 Contracts?
Rowsdower replied to makinyashikino's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Budgets are not going to be included in 0.24, but will be implemented down the line. -
Might be time to update the Steam store page screenshots, Squad.
Rowsdower replied to Franklin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Old school is cool, amirite? Actually, I plucked out some more recent photos for them to update a while ago. It should have happened by now. I'll poke em and see what's up. Thanks for keeping an eye out. -
There's already a main Curse thread in general. Sorry, iDan. Locked.

Community Mod Repository and The Majiir Challenge
Rowsdower replied to Majiir's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
When it came down to SP2, ultimately we didn't have the bandwidth and resources available to present an experience with a quality as initially conceived. Going with Curse allows for a better organized experience with greater stability, run by a team with the resources to properly handle community mod hosting needs. Curse is well aware of the fact that they're not the only game in town when it comes to KSP mods. They are the official repository, but not the only one. I, of course, encourage everyone to give it a try if they'd not done so, but if you're not into it, that's fine. The forums will continue to be available for use and if Majiir or anyone else steps up with an unofficial community one, I'll gladly shine a spotlight on that, too. -
Hi, everyone! We know that we’ve been quiet about the future of Spaceport as of late. Too quiet. Between researching a number of viable solutions and testing certain implementations, we had yet to come to come to what the next step would be. That was, until now. We are ready to confirm that starting today, CURSE will be the official mod host of Kerbal Space Program. By signing up for a Curse account to use with KSP, you will have an unprecedented ease of access in which to download and implement mods into your game. Up until now, Spaceport, the former official repository for KSP mods had not allowed the simplicity, speed, organization and reliability that Curse can provide. If any modders have material on Spaceport that needs to be copied or otherwise backed up, it’s recommended that you do so before the site officially shuts down 30 days from now. Otherwise, you can start manually uploading your material onto Curse as early as today. If you choose not to do so, there are no other changes. You are more than welcome to host the downloads of your mods elsewhere and maintain your forum threads as you already have been. Just remember that Spaceport will no longer be online in 30 days. Going with CURSE allows them to do what they do best - host, organize and deliver your content in an smooth manner, while allowing us greater time and resources that will go into game development, strengthening the community and making the KSP experience greater on all sides. Do not expect Curse to start taking any drastic measures within the community, either. Your experience here on the forum, as well as our other social channels will not change. You’ll still even be able to discuss and download mods right off the forum if that’s your preference. For the modding community, Curse allows for certain benefits that Spaceport did not. Increased host support, regular upgrades and updates to the site as well as the potential for a larger community of players to download your mods are among them. Curse will also be rolling out a program for modders to be monetarily rewarded for hosting within their system. We'll be excited to make sure each of you interested in this program can discuss it with Curse. We know that changes like these can bring growing pains, but we feel that the positives you will experience with CURSE will outweigh anything else over time. Their team are all fans of KSP and know that you all expect nothing short of a high quality experience out of them. Throughout our discussions with them, we know that they’re quite up to the task and we hope that you will be happy with the results. Thanks.

Hi, everyone. First off, on behalf of everyone at Squad, we'd like to thank you for taking the surveys that we brought to you shortly before our appearances at SXSW and GDC 2014. They told us a lot about who you are, how you got here and many things you've taken out of playing KSP. We revealed the results of these surveys at these conference to show off what kind of community you are. Whether you reside on the forum, the subreddit or any other area of our community, you are the ones that have given yourselves the rep as one of the most thoughtful, harmonious and overwhelmingly creative communities out there. The numbers brought to us in the surveys also refreshed our eyes to some areas where we could look to both improve and bolster further. We are now able to present the RESULTS to some of the questions asked in both surveys. We hope you find them as interesting as we have. Thanks again.

To those of you in the thread that have friends that don't play KSP, what is it you think didn't appeal to them? To those of you that do, what do you think kept them sticking around?
-
Quick update - the announcement's been pushed to early next week. Have to get some things squared away for it. Sorry for the delay.
-
This is a truly interesting angle here. Generally, the characters you control in video games have a tendency to feel highly expendible, simply due to the repetition and realization that you can always try again. There's something that tends to separate Kerbals from much of that, though. Perhaps it's their adorable nature. Perhaps it's the fact that the player essentially becomes part of the crew. The level of accomplishment and innovation that's achieved hand in hand with them also tends to serve it's purpose. What do you all think?

KSP - Why no 64-bit?
Rowsdower replied to TheSkyShaft's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Sorry, everyone. I'm shutting this one down. Things have been thoroughly explained at various points in the thread. -
A freak delay happened. What are the odds? Well, not exactly a freak delay, but we're still waiting on some announcement approvals and most of the team is out for labor day in Mexico, so instead of today, it's looking more like we'll be talking about it on Friday. I'll keep you all posted.
-
So you mean Facebook? Unless some sort of freak delay happens, all will be revealed tomorrow.
-
I hope to see some of your work around these parts, EnergyKnife.
-
Lurking gives you the lay of the land before you dive in. Good call.

It was all part of a plan... that i just made up
Rowsdower replied to InterCity's topic in KSP1 Discussion
That moment when accidentally pressing spacebar twice doesn't do the damage you think it would. -
Welcome! How many of you here received this as a gift or gifted it to others?
