Hello! This is a comic strip series I'm making called Minmus & Company. As the name suggests, it's a Kerbal Space Program comic focused not on the Kerbals; rather, on the many planets and moons surrounding the game. It is inspired by both Samio85's Planet Comics, which have a similar principle, but features planets from the real world instead(and having better graphics), and Polandball/Countryballs, where it has the same principle of the previous two, but revolving around Earth's countries instead, and promotes the art style for both other comics. (Both, however, are NSFW) The main plot of the comics revolve around Kerbin and Minmus. Occasionally, other planets/muns will be featured as the main characters instead, but more often than not, they'll be secondary or tertiary characters. Additionally, a new group of characters - the quaternary characters - are used as characters that will only be mentioned, mostly because there are no exploitable sprites for them, and I'm too underskilled to make ones myself. The space backgrounds are made by Samio85, not me. The planet sprites are taken from the KSP Wiki and screenshots. THE COMICS: Inspired by this Polandball comic.

KSP is intended for which ages of player?
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Sirine's topic in KSP1 Discussion
In my opinion, it's everyone. As long as they have the will to learn, of course. I began playing Kerbal Space Programâ„¢ when I was 13, one year before I actually was introduced to the basics of Physics. Now, I am 14 years old, and I'm the only one in class who knows that, to attain orbit, you need to be moving fast enough that you fall and miss the ground, and not because you just sit there floating because "there's no gravity", and that a spacecraft can use the atmosphere to slow itself down! Well, granted I'm not the best in Physics' equations, but when it comes to the rules, I learn 'em quickly. All thanks to Kerbal Space Program. -
As some of you probably know, I suffered of a KSP-shortage for three months. However, I was bought in back to the game by watching hilarious KSP videos(Danny's ARM video is one of them, obviously). So, I decided to start my save in a 'historical space advancement' storyline. I began roleplaying that my Space Program took place in the second most powerful country in Kerbin, the Kerbin Federation of Southern States. Yes, that page was made by me. As you can see there, their enemy is the People's United Empire of Pandora, located on the extremely large continent. I started with a simple probe parodying the Sputnik, the Stayputnik(wow, much originality, such good name). The ship consisted of a lifter and a small stage for interplanetary burns - fit with a probe core used to take the stage back to Kerbin - which hauled the Stayputnik probe, consisting of nothing more than the probe core, a small battery, two solar panels and a small antenna. It'd be on Synchronous Orbit. The probe was set into orbit with no major problems(other than the help of HyperEdit to actually place it in front of Concetia). The main difficulty was landing the thing. I forgot to slap some parachutes in the lifter, and I missed the ocean entirely, so I had to land it softly or else a war would start. Not to mention I was landing in the Empire of Pandora's territory, to make matters worse. Fortunately for me, I managed to safely land the mid-stage with no major casualties - in fact, it was very sharp, as I landed with only 1.36 Liquid Fuel left! Touchdown was at 9.8m/s with no landing legs, so I had to rely on the engine - and the SAS to keep it upright. Hopefully the Empire won't mind me having to use their territory as a landing site...

What is your 'Specialty' in KSP?
Commissioner Tadpole replied to roblamb98's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Spending hours in the VAB trying to find a way to get enough dV and making calculations to see if my rockets can get to their destination. -
Looks like someone needs a tow truck.
-
Heh, my only problem with landing planes is that I often go just too fast. So either my plane crashes at the floor at high speeds and breaks apart, or I manage to touch the ground, but my airplane is still going so fast it's brakes are not helping and I have to do an emergency re-takeoff because it went past the strip and into a cliff. RealChute's drag parachutes are also great when deployed before touchdown.

I am in an escape trajectory out of KSP...
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Commissioner Tadpole's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Well, after a few moments of thinking(and looking at your replies), I began to think that it isn't the intimidation of content that makes me not want to play KSP, but it's rather the fact that my computer lags when playing KSP(A large ship takes ~25 minutes just to get in Kerbin orbit in my computer. I don't want to do an Eve mission anymore). And I doubt I'll be getting a new computer anytime soon. -
I am in an escape trajectory out of KSP...
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Commissioner Tadpole's topic in KSP1 Discussion
I know, I've seen someone say the same thing as well. It's actually the second time I burn out in KSP. Sounds interesting, but my computer alterady struggles with my ammount of mods in KSP, so I don't think adding more would end well. Sometimes, SAS is actually really needed. My rockets couldn't even make the gravity turn due to the lack of a SAS module. Solar panels usually aren't the problem; the issue is the lack of batteries. When I go into the dark side of a planet, bam. Out of eletricity. I suppose I could use cubic struts as makeshift landing legs. They're astoundingly tough, too. -

Commissioner Tadpole replied to Commissioner Tadpole's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Wow, seven replies alterady? You people are fast. There's a new update comming out soon? Nobody told me... huh. Well, it could, but I'm using the Urania system mod, so it might not be that intriguing to me. I'm not that evil. I'd never leave a Kerbal behind. Career isn't that much interesting to me because it's a pain to get the things you need for interstellar travel - SAS modules, batteries, solar panels and landing legs to name a few. Until then it's just boring orbital manuevers that are each time harder and harder to win due to the science decay. Haven't landed in all of them yet. Currently only reached Mun, Minmus, Eve, Duna, Ike, Jool and Laythe. But, as someone said, if you get to another planet, you've done everything you can do in the game, and that kinda discourages me from setting up a base on Laythe, for example. -
Lately, I haven't been playing KSP. I don't know if it's the lack of motivation due to the fact that there's nothing to do out there, or if I'm intimidated by the complexity of how some missions can be, but I can't seem to be in the mood to play KSP. I fear I am losing my addiction, but I don't want to. What can I do to reattach myself to KSP?

PSA: Don't Mess With 2000+ Part Ships
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Redrobin's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Unfortunately, since my comp's not the best out there, my framerates slow down often and I can't go any further than 500 parts. Which isn't good since my average part count is around 381. Not something Whackjob would be proud of, but certainly enough for my comp to have trouble with. -
I lost my patience after Uranus.

Shoved under the rug/cancelled content ?
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Nemrav's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Don't say that. You'll just stir up a pointless discussion which won't do anything productive. -
I feel bad for Sergei.

The saddest loss of a Kerbal I've ever seen...
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Tex's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
In honor of him, build a tombstone in honor of him and send it to Gilly. I'm sure Jeb will like it when he respawns. -
Is Gumby an Ancestor of Jebediah?
Commissioner Tadpole replied to Geschosskopf's topic in The Lounge
Saturn looked freaky. But it was a fun show. -
Gilly: The place of no Gravity.
Commissioner Tadpole replied to The Destroyer's topic in Forum Games!
Gilly: Where ant engines are efficient. A rover on Gilly? WHAT SORCERY IS THIS?! KSP has taught me so. I kinda cringed when I heard someone say "...and the astronaut stays floating in space above Earth due to lack of gravity...". But let's not get off-topic. -
If you do switch the Laythe crew, and later on happen to install Sido's Urania system, PLEASE make a mission in which the spetacular six(or just the fearsome four if you don't want Hellou and Emilynn in it) go to Hestia(the green photosyntetic planet). It'll be hilarious to see Nelemy making theories that Hestia is green because it is composed of souls from deceased Kerbals.
-
I can't see it. Image is broken.

Yesterday I saw a green tow truck, and it's license plate was 'KSP-0327'. Unfortunately it sped up quickly after I noticed the license plate, so I couldn't inspect it further. It's true -- Kerbals are secretly slowly worming their way to the real world!
