chicknblender: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Level 1 sub-Challenge with an incredible 5.822 TONS and that made you faaar the best in the minimal-weight category!!! Thank you for the details, that helped me to understand your mission. You really did a lot of math and everything is very well planned and on the edge. Awesome! And I love this picture! I'm finishing up the last touches on my ship and I have found a solution what you could have used too and that could save you an other 0.1 tons but don't want to share it right now because that will be a funny thing so I prefer to show it in my mission log rather than just saying it. But otherwise I can't challenge you, especially because I don't want to spend time with gravity assists... (I don't have much time to play KSP nowadays ). But I'm planning to bring a very strong second place!! Thank you for your participating, this mission is really a mind-blowing one! Respect!

Yeah, I know you are a pro player so I know you are capable of doing this mission. Even landing on Tylo and getting back to orbit with a ship which has 4400 m/s DeltaV (with the Kerbal in the seat). My current lowmass Tylo lander has 4500 m/s because that's my best so far (and it is 0.2 tons heavier than yours ). With about 2130 m/s orbital speed at 10km the theoretical minimum is somewhere 4300 because at the last seconds you will "waste" some when turning vertical... So, where I lost the tracking in your mission is with the Xenon fuel/dV, especially when tugging something. In my design I went on with some spare xenon fuel just for sure, because the current best was 31 tons so I was thinking that some 0.12 tons doesn't count much, and it will be less than 8 tons already which is far better than 31... But you have shown that every 0.05 tons counts too!

Really awesome planning and execution but I cannot track the dV's and fuel consumption correctly if there are no information on the screen... can you please add informative screens to for all the main phases? And also with mission duration time? (I'm going to add this to the rules because this is very important to track a mission to see if it was really done without cheating and without adding HyperEdit testing screens after each other...)

It's a Jebediah's Level with landing a Kerbal on all the other bodies too. So you have to bring at least five Kerbals, one for each Jool moon. Himynameisjake brought five Kerbals, but the two in the Science Lab doesn't show on the right bottom while they are in the Lab. His landings: Tylo - Bob Laythe - Jebediah Vall - Bill Bop - Sheply (basicly Science Lab crew) Pol - Ermin (basicly Science Lab crew)

Hi, yeah, as they said the main ship has to go from Kerbin to Jool as one big ship. Without this rule all the missions could be and endless one, would make it harder to compare missions and also would reduce the need for engineering and piloting excellence. This is true for the normal and the kethane version too. But I understand that parallel missions can be fun too so feel free to do that and I'll be happy to post it in the Freestyle category!

Jasonden and Speeding Mullet: you are the only two who have finished the Kethane Expedition so far so I would ask you for your acceptance if I change the point system for the science: it is now divided by 30 which counted for only ~220 at Jasonden from the ~1600 points. I think this should be more because making science is always a lot of work both on design and executing. So it should be changed to divided by 20, 15 or 10 only, what do you think? Especially you need to accept it Speeding Mullet because Jasonden will have more points. Hm, you did not count any science points, by the way? Or if anybody else have an opinion on this, let me know.

Ohh, sounds good, because I'm working on my ion version too! I'm still considering a nuke but surely ion is the best. But not surely if I want to wait and fuss with the long burning times... Also, remember that there will be times when you will need a decent TWR to brake into orbit around the bodies... I was thinking about a two-way ship so I can use the lander's engine too if neccessary... Edit: 1000th post! YEAH!

8MMW: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge on Level 3! I always liked the Cupola but never used in serious missions because of it's weight... but yeah, with these new huge fuel tanks it is less compromising. And yes, the clouds are beautiful! I also like your little badges! Yeah, maybe the original badges are too big so if somebody feels like it should be changed then go for it: badge post updated

Jasonden: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge, Kethane Expedition version! Nice design with the great rover-hopper! Now I see that maybe I should change a little on my point system, because it is better to bring a lot of Kerbals than to make science, and I want to avoid making it a how-many-kerbals challenge. So I would make the science more prominent by changing the dividing number to something lower... what do you think? I'll check all the entries so far and asking everybody about it to make sure it will be fair.

Wow, I see there are some new awesome missions to check in-depth and add to the Hall of Fame! (if accepted - just to hold the tension until that! ) That's a shame that I don't have time to do that now (and even the weekend will be busy) but I'll try to do it soon! Speeding Mullet: yeah, running this Challenge beside playing KSP swallowed my last months too! But I always enjoy when I see some new brilliant design or solution! I also have tons of pictures about my playing (managed to lift a downed Asteroid to the top of the KSC, wandered around Urania with Kethane, designed an orbit-capable ion glider, etc) but when I want to upload them I've always got scared of the amount of work it needs...

cube19: Congratulation, you finished the JOOL-5 Challenge with a Kethane SSTO! Your ship is very massive with a lot of fuel! Maybe you could use Nukes instead of LV-T30 for more dV? And yeah, legs are always crucials for these huge ships! Maybe you should use some big leg from other mods? Nice job anyway!

Looks good! Please note that from Jool orbit you will need about ~900 m/s to get to low Laythe orbit, and when came back from the surface you will need ~900 m/s again to get out of Laythe. It is also true for Tylo, it's about ~1000 m/s there, so if you launch your lander from the mothership still in Jool orbit then you will need about 1000+3200+2800+1000 = 8000 m/s deltaV for the whole trip...
