Everybody who have done the JOOL-5 Kethane mission has earned the JOOL-5 Kethane badge and may add to his/her Signature: to do this: Settings -> Edit Signature and add this line without the spaces after the two '[' brackets: [ URL=http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/57197-THE-ULTIMATE-JOOL-5-CHALLENGE-land-Kerbals-on-all-moons-and-return-in-one-big-misson][ IMG]http://i.imgur.com/l8NYzJN.png

Jasonden: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Kethane mission in the low-mass version! Nice solution with the Minmus refueling, I'm already on my way with the SSTO version where I did the same. But I didn't want to go for minimal mass there so it is more like a big station rather than a little ship. I was double checking your Bop/Pol - Tylo course, I guess that's the key part of this kind of mission with the highest DeltaV requriements (about 150+300+1000+3000?), I saw you brought some spare Kethane too, good idea. And also the Laythe departure can be tricky because of the atmosphere. About the Kethane scanner issue: yes, the story of this challenge says it is the first time there so scanning is needed at every moon. But I didn't mention it under the rules and also it wouldn't be fair of me not to accept this entry because of this. I guess a scanner would be +0.1 tons and it could be easily placed on your ship (on the top), so I suggest to list this mission with 17 tons in the Hall of Fame. I hope it's okay for you. Nice job, thank you for participating!

One thing what I would improve is more realistic situations. You added some ships which are great (with some twist at some of them!) But I don't like the idea of standalone Kerbals on an other body, or, especially! a low-Kerbol orbit, or far out in the deep space... how did they get there? Where are their ships? Are them still usable and just out of fuel, or did they crash it? Or did they lost the engine somehow but I can refuel my rescue ship from the stranded ship? Did they lost the main ship (crashed into the surface) and they are in a small life-supporting escape pod? Or the Kerbal was maintaining a base on the surface but a meteor crashed the base and he needs urgent rescue, Etc... so I miss the story, the scenario for most of them. But good job with the ones which has funny names and stranded ship, I appreciate and really enjoy them! So I guess a little more thinking and work with the save would make this a great challenge! And if you put there some point system or something more exact then it may be a real race to get everyone back...!

Corsby Kerman has got stranded in orbit around Kerbin... The leaders at KSC are fed up with spending on expensive giant rockets so asked the engineers to make EVERYTHING reusable. So the engineers came up with this SSTO rocket. There's a KAS pocket on it's top with instruments for Corsby to build his own rescue return vehicle... (click on the image for the album)

Hi, this sub-challenge is about the lowest mass on the launch pad, and one launch only. At least one Kerbal (which travels in a closed pod from Kerbin to Jool and back) land on all the moons and go back. You do with that ship whatever you like. So this is a hardcore optimization challenge, which will drive you crazy when you won't have the fuel to go back to Kerbin!

I LOVE the idea, I downloaded the save file. I was very disappointed that there's no stranded ships, no empty fuel tanks, etc... I would love to see strange new ships (for me) which had some design flaw so I have to save them. Or just refuel their ship in deep space and let them go back. Or something like these... so I miss the STORY. Otherwise I really love this idea. and also some of them is unrealistic and almost impossible to do... going to Moho is very, very hard, did you go there already and coming back? Did you count the DeltaV requriements for going THAT close to the Sun and back?? I would love to see the DeltaV numbers for that... also, for the escape trajectory too. BTW I started a rescue challenge on EVE: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/60867-Kethane-scenario-Rescue-Mission-for-Jebediah-from-the-Eve-Kethane-Base So, I LOVE the idea, I miss the Story. Let me know ff you add there stranded vehicles too, and I will be happy to start collecting them back!

You can launch the ship in many parts, dock in orbit, and refuel before going to JOOL. But there was some solution which was launched as one big ship and there was no refueling. Alternatively use NovaPunch, that mod has many additional size for fuel tanks and engines, even huge ones which is equal to 10+ orange tanks and 10+ MainSails. (for the oringinal Level 1-2-3-Jeb you cannot use modded engines with Isp 800 or higher)

Hehe, good question! For the points, I imagined the main ship as the one which drops the landers to the different moons, or where the Kerbals live who wait the rotation to land, and which has the main engines for the interplanetary travels... or something similar. You disturbed this kind of thinking...! Very appropriate question, even I don't know the answer! Hmm... let's say it's okay to title your small return craft as "main ship" for the orbit/refueling points. You do a special approach to the mission and landing a complete "mining city" is hard enough. So it's okay this way.

SV-ESK: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 Challenge on Jebediah's Level! But how!!! This is a very special mission with a lot of unique solutions, starting with the spaceplane launches... and with the refuelable spaceplane-tug to put every module into orbit! That's Unbelievable! And I love your design for the spaceplane which consist the other landers too. Your "jumping-climbing" back to the Pod on Tylo is something new too, I didn't know about that possibility. Also the gravity assists are professionals, teaches a lot of things to us, I guess! And I'm very happy for your deltaV map, nobody tracked it with so much details! And you set a new record for the collected Science Points.... afther LANDING two Hitch-hiker Container and a Mobile Lab on the runway...! Unbelievable, really! Thank you for your participating, that was really fun to watch and learn! And how did you do that all of your Kerbals have different faces?!?

Mike the Mechanic: Congratulations, you have finished the Low-mass Challenge and now leads the board with 31.355 tons! This is just awesome. Nice solutions! By the way I was progressing well with my 36 tons mission so I hate to see this! How did you manage to land on Bop and go back to orbit with Jetpacks? I tried that too but wasn't successful.

Hi jmanidb, Congratulation, you have finished the JOOL-5 mission on Jebediah's Level! Thanks for the updates! Yeah, the ladder seems a little unimportant part but can ruin the mission if the Kerbal can't get back into the Pod on Laythe or Tylo... this is why I asked this. And yes, you get science points only for science landed back at Kerbin, so it is 9803,7 for your mission. Nice job, thank you for participating! oh, and one more question: how did you undock the lower part of your ship seen here: http://i.imgur.com/hPmBVNH.png ..because there's only one docking port there...?
-
I have clarified this point in the rules: +5 permanent living space per Kerbal (doesn't have to be occupied, can be reserved for future missions. Only normal living quarters and pods counts, so no Labs, Command Seats, LLL airlocks or other similar temporary solutions) I also don't count points for the Lab - it's a working place, and Kerbals love to go home after a long day in the office! They don't want to live there!

jmanidb: Congratulations, you have finished the JOOL-5 mission on Jeb's level! But can you please add photo from Laythe's surface? And how did you manage to get back to the Pod on Tylo as the ladder is high up in the "air"? Also can you please show pictures about the refueling mission? I'm sorry for harassing you with these but you know how bureaucracy works... Otherwise it's a nice looking ship, and that's a lot of Science Points!! Oh, and can you show a picture about the science points too!?
