  1. Great stuff as always, Kyasarinn. I wish I could draw Kerbals that well!
  2. I'm only in high school, but I prefer simple paper and pencil. Maybe I'd like OneNote better if I seriously looked into it, but right now I don't really want to depend on a laptop or iPad for all my notes. I just like being able to hold the notes in my hand and say "BAM! Here they are!" You guys getting what I'm saying?
  3. This goes for all my saves, regardless of game mode: 1. All crew must return home or have the ability to do so. 2. Time warp only when necessary. Waiting for launch windows for a specific time of day does not count. 3. Effort must be put into spacecraft. No throwing stuff together! 4. Try to keep rockets somewhat realistic. Really, I'm not too big on the idea of putting on my own rules, but sometimes you just have to do it for the best gameplay possible.
  4. If you want 4K textures you will have to export them from Space Engine in 4K. Here is an amazing tutorial on how to export 4K textures and bigger! Don't worry, take it from me: it's extremely easy and extremely rewarding!
  5. I am totally in favor of more 3.75 meters parts, such as a shorter adapter and maybe another engine, but I don't like the idea of a big ion or nuclear engine. However, I would like a 3.75 meter crew cabin, perhaps for space stations or even interplanetary craft.
  6. These definitely are my favorite forums out there, just because of how well everyone knows each other! Congrats, Squad!
  7. Hey guys, I'm wondering if I should get Elite: Dangerous and whether it would be the right game for me. Really, I'm not interested in combat. Heck, I hate it! I love games like KSP and Space Engine because of the immense scale, and I want to explore a universe as large as Elite: Dangerous with realism and graphical beauty. I want to have my own spacecraft and explore the galaxy with it. It's a bit pricy, but if it's the game I've been looking for I'm sure I can spend the money.
  8. For me, having a good idea is having a good idea for a new planet. So, I'll make myself one! 1. Fire up ol' Space Engine. 2. Find the perfect planet/moon. 3. Export the textures. 4. Create a folder for the new planet/moon in the GameData folder. 5. Create a folder in the new folder for the textures. 6. Place the textures in the new texture folder. 7. Create the Kopernicus and KittpoiaTech configs. 8. Edit the configs. 9. Fire up KSP, make changes in case planet/moon does not load. 10. Go to the new planet/moon with Hyperedit and edit the terrain, atmosphere, etc. 11. Export the planet/moon and update ScaledSpace. 12. Cry with beauty at my new world.
  9. Renegrade, why you gotta break my brain?! Anyways, too bad for the Squadcast. Get better soon, max!
  10. Hey guys, what's the average image size for planet textures? I've been messing with 10K textures just by myself, but I've been wanting to create a new planet pack lately and 10K is far too large (just one planet can make the game crash!).
  11. Nice! I've never thought about making a diary for my Space Engine explorations before, but a great idea nevertheless!
  12. Ha ha! That's awesome! The world shall respect us!
  13. This, so many this's. My friend IRL who plays KSP had to wait weeks to play KSP 0.90 just because he had to wait for the mods to update. All I could do was feel bad for him!
  14. Yeah, all day I've been trying to access KopernicusTech planet packs but the links all failed. I even typed in [Moderator removed defunct website] and it didn't work!
  15. What exactly is the difference between docking and normal mode? I never did figure out what separates them apart.
  16. Yup, there's those normal maps not working! Like I said before, set the opacity of the normal map image to fifty percent. Even if it is "inverted" it will still work. I would provide image examples, but my internet has been so bad lately I can't upload them to imgur. I've had the same problem, too. Unfortunately I've never found a solution, so I've simply never updated Scaled Space for my planets. It's a shame, I know.
  17. Hmmm, I'm quite interesting in making some crafts. Is there anything you'd like me to make, Starwhip?
  18. I have no clue. I have heard, however, that this could be one of the longest updates ever, so I would bet on a while. That being said, I would totally buy KSP even if 1.0 was upcoming. I could experience the old aerodynamics before it's too late!
  19. Hey, while I'm here I'd like to point out an absolutely astounding tutorial that allows you export textures higher than 4096! Here it is. It does involve some "deep computer editing," but trust me it is super easy and messing up is impossible. Plus I have not had a single problem with this computer ever since I made this change.
  20. It does work, but I've found it only applies to the planet being used only if the opacity is set to 50%. Even then the normal map is 'inverted," with the highest points of the terrain having shadows on over them. It's pretty minor, but noticeable if you take the time. EDIT: Ninja'd!
  21. While back I was completing a contract that required five precision landings on Minmus. I wanted to get it over with, so I aimed to complete them all in one mission. However, right after the first landing I accidentally staged off the radial fuel tans, thus reducing my total fuel amount of two thirds. I was so tempted to revert, but I decided to use my skills for the better and go forward with the mission. I actually managed to complete the contract and return home!
