Worse thing is that they painted clouds to simulate the outside, on a planet that has no clouds. What the hell do the Kerbals think those white things are??
-
Yes, the negative side is getting its light. From 3, down to 2!
-
Now that you mention it, I'm always bugged out when I finish building my rocket on the VAB, put it outside and it's nighttime. The VAB and SPH backgrounds should correspond to game time!

A more intuitive tech tree
monstah replied to CaptainKipard's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Someone mentioned on the latest devnote the possibility to get contract-related unlocks. The example was pretty illustrative: you click to research a docking port. Instead of unlocking it, the game starts to generate contracts to test it and dock two ships. When you complete those contracts, you get the part. The way it's setup now, the minute you signed the contract you would get the part as "experimental", and can pretty much use it as you wish, but in my opinion this could be easily changed to "destroy the part and the contract is failed", which already has its penalties built in, plus you can't use the part any more. I think it sounds perfect. Maybe not the only way to research, but it's interesting and "gamey". -
Do you feel KSP is ready for 1.0?
monstah replied to hoojiwana's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I read the whole sentence as "even if we can set our deadlines to whenever we please", not "we can set our deadlines to whenever we please". If. -
I also want to point out that, like some other people here have said, I'm in no rush to see 1.0. I'm not doing the "0.91 pleeease" routine, I'm just saying i think you should take your time, and release it when it's done.

(Turn-based) Kerbal Multiplayer Collaboration
monstah replied to Thunderous Echo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
So much gold. I'm just moving in with my girwifefriend this week, so my KSP weekly gametime is expected to drop... significantly. I'm still on the project, tho! -
Whoa, lots of pages fast. I'm all for fixing what you got first, only then adding new content. The game was interesting enough to buy three years ago, it's still interesting enough to buy now. Just polish it and it will shine Then, sure, add stuff away.

(Turn-based) Kerbal Multiplayer Collaboration

Forgive me for now knowing what EAV means. Entry and Ascent Vehicle? -
There is nothing on this post I don't love. SQUAD and modders are working together to create an awesome game I and many more love. People should realize this.

Oh, I knew that when I docked SciHab to it, but someone mentioned fuel later... - - - Updated - - - I think of LKO as "Earth" and outer space as "the void", thus "Hades", so to speak, so Charon is my ferry, and Persephone my reentry pod. I haven't named anything Hades yet, tho. -
Rosetta, Philae and Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.
monstah replied to Vicomt's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Responding to Rosetta and doing any useful science, as well as staying awake during night time, takes a LOT more power than turning it just a bit to get a little bit more sun, and that little bit more sun may pay off in regard to the things above! - - - Updated - - - Besides, the batteries aren't dead, they're empty. Tho they may be actually dead (due to intense cold), they might still be able to recharge. -
Rosetta, Philae and Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko.

I was thinking about this too: is there sufficient information on its current position, so as to change it to receive more light by dead reckoning? -

We have a Caronte, a Hades, I added a Chronus. I *so* love greek mythology naming conventions (tho I use the spelling "Charon" in my save). May I suggest Poseidon for a fueling station? On a side note, I'm thinking Chronus should either be moved to a less inclined orbit, or be kept mostly for decorative/roleplay reasons (I'll still like to put some stuff on it even still). Fuel on a polar orbit isn't the most useful thing. -

...and are now getting ready to attempt communicating with Philae for the first time since touchdown(s): http://blogs.esa.int/rosetta/2015/03/10/waiting-for-a-signal-from-philae I shoudn't be, but I am SO OPTIMISTIC (or, at least, hyped). They'll begin attempting communication tomorrow, and try continually until the 20th. Even if they don't listen to any response this time, they will try again when the stars are right. -
And 60. 18 more and we answer life again.

- - - Updated - - - There's two scientists in the lab (in case they ever become useful in sandbox), a pilot in the cupola and two engineers on the fore habitation module -

Really? I just installed the lo-res version from CKAN. I gotta re-learn my stock launch profiles... -

monstah replied to Thunderous Echo's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Failed at launching last night, will make an album out of the attempt and try again soon... (I got them back alive at least) - - - Updated - - - Attempt to dock at polar station. First lesson from last night (before this attempt, local save): 4600m/s does not a stock launch make. (test. never used imgur before.) Well. If at first you don't succeed.... Plus, this ship has some KAS storage on the cupola, and the save worked just fine without it installed. I think it works! So, I'm launching it with a spare OX 2x3 panel and a Z100 tucked in. - - - Updated - - - Uh. How do I imgur? - - - Updated - - - Done! -

May I call dibs? Plan: Hab/science/observation module on polar Kerbin station (maybe) Start a Kerbin Gateway station with fuel and many brave kerbals ready for space exploration. - - - Updated - - - also: a test ship with some KAS storage space added via MM. Next one to use the save file, tell me if it explodes on load! - - - Updated - - - on second thought, I'll do that test locally, then if needed I upload the save so someone can double-check me. -

I'll mess around the Kerbin Station for now, thank you!
