It's not ugly... It's exotic... why do you think it's ugly? ಠ_ಠ nope... just for Laythe... had a lander on the back between the engines, and that 3 probes.. the probes in other hand was used to map all the Jool moons... using ScanSat.

ja fiz isso lá nos tempos do KSP 0.24.2... mas geralmente tinha um kerbal sentado na ponta...

modifiquei aquele SSTO... pra fazer isso aqui:

for the first time I did the reverse way... I downgraded a SSTO... and was able to perform a circumnavigation...

this thing... ugly, but very functional...

You can also try built the spacecraft in orbit... launching each module on medium sized rockets... this is the method I use for interplanetary missions... specially after 1.0, when the game started to get pretty laggy with high part count crafts...
